Hello
I have recently updated to the latest HTC One X firmware and is experiencing a problem.
I am unable certain re-enabled disabled applications for some unknown reasons.
For better reference, I have upload the screenshot that I have taken from my phone.
Previously, I have handled such situation by doing a hard reset which is terrible and sophisticated which I would wish to avoid doing it this time.
Please advice accordingly. By the way, this is a non-rooted phone.
Thank you!

Scroll to the very bottom of your list of apps and look for your disabled app down there too. All disabled system apps show up down there for some reason.

Thanks for your reply! However, I am on the latest 2.17.707.3 software version and the disabled apps appears in alphabetical order with the rest of the enabled application instead of the previous versions where they are at the bottom of the app list.
The main problem is I am unable to enable the disabled app as there is not Enable button but a frozen unclickable Disable button. A photo has been uploaded at the main post for reference.
Once again, appreciate your response.

Hi all,
Has anyone experienced this with B506? Some apps like Telegram or WeChat get closed in the background just after a few seconds and then if someone messages me I don't receive the notification until I actually open the app (which completely defeats the purpose of the notification...).
Is this just a problem with my phone or has anyone else experienced this?
I know it's the app that's getting somehow closed because every time I start for example, Facebook or WeChat, I see the splash screen (which is only shown the first time an app is started).
Thanks for any help!
Are you allowing it to run in the background, and allowing it to startup at boot?

That's the thing, ever since I flashed B506 I lost that setting in the menu where we had the security options and could choose what runs in the background and what doesn't... I thought this was removed by Huawei on purpose. Do you still have it?

Yes, I still have it, and you should too.
Do you have the Phone Manager app? All the options are there.
In settings, Protected apps is the setting for the background apps.

Ugh, I'm so stupid! I froze the Phone Manager app (as well as a bunch of other Huawei apps) without realizing this one is actually needed.
Thanks! It works now!

Hi, I just want to share with you the list of apps I have disabled using "Package Disabler Pro".
The app costs a couple of dollars and does not need root: it only disables apps and does not remove them.
I am attaching the XML file: you can either import this in the app (and modify the outcome) or open the file to see the list of disabled apps.
Two more apps that can be disabled are...
... com.sec.android.app.soundalive: the equaliser
... com.sec.hearingadjust: tweaks audio thru headphones based on an audio test
Be careful that by disabling get the following apps (list not exhaustive) you may get FC's in some settings:
- Themes (on top of the main settings page)
- Calendar, Messages (sms), Email (in sound settings)
Nothing to be worried about: it's just bad coding from Samsung

So far so good: all seems to be working fine.

Does this disable touchwiz?

Gonna give it a try as I have started using Nova anyway

Will give it a try now and see as not using touchwiz anyway
Be careful about disabling touchwiz. If you don´t have a launcher, you will end up in a reboot loop (read it elsewhere).
Btw, I am using it too. Will post the list briefly, but I am having problems: cant take any screenshots. Pressing the home button and power button simultaneously does nothing. Any ideas?

There is a massive thread going on for this with the note 5. I have been keeping track. But is the bloat carrier specific? I'm with 3 UK. I have package disabler pro and have done nothing with it as I'm worried running an xml for say an American bloated handset. Will cause issues. I don't like just turning of something when I have no idea what it's for.

Then do it manually

Hey guys, i just installed it as well...removed almost all bloatware...lets see how it goes...

Hi thanks for the list. I used the debloater app along with the list above to remove a boat load of apps.
I am removing a few more, will soon post a new list. Phone battery is now lasting a lot longer. Have also installed Google Launcher: it is a lot smoother than touch wiz, especially scrollable widgets.
Updated OP with more info and a new XML fie.
Enjoy...
I'm not seeing any attachment on OP. How do I get the XML file? Thanks.
Try now
What's the option that turns down the battery stats?
Because I go to the options and it doesn't show up the battery option
True... didn't notice... will try to find out
Smart Manager
A little to agressive (i lost some basic apps and I saw NFC and Miracast disabled) but I re-enabled what I needed and looks good. Had only one force close in settings.apk but might be related to missing battery options which I re-enabled as well. But overall great work, beer for you!

I've chosen to post this fix that I have created here to bring more attention to XDA, instead of posting directly on OPPO Forums. This is because OPPO staff have clearly stated with their latest release of ColorOS v2.1.5i that it will be their last.
The mods also didn't reply when I offered to share with them this, so.. That's the situation there.
For those who still prefer ColorOS while Project Spectrum is being developed (released today but not all ColorOS features included), follow the steps below.
After 3 weeks if testing.. Here is the fix!!
Issue:
After some usage, you notice app notifications appear, then disappear immediately.
After reboot, this behavior persists. Additionally, your startup apps do not autostart anymore.
Apps in the background are automatically closed after switching to another app.
Manual Fix:
There is a problematic folder and file that needs to be removed. Use a file manager such as Solid Explorer to browse to the files and remove them.
/data/data_bpm - remove folder and files
/data/system/appops.xml - remove file
Reboot and all is fixed.
Persistent notifications hidden using notification centre reappears. Just enable and disable the notification through the notifications control and it will go away.
Tasker is recommended to create a reboot button. The task sequence for reboot would be to remove the problematic files and folder before reboot. It automates the process making your life easier.
If this helps you..
Please spread the word and link back to this thread on xda. ?
Thanks for the fix, dude, very much appreciated
Well done! Even though I am not using COS anymore, I really do appreciate your post!
Thank you for the fix! Cheers
Thanks for the share. Will try this. In the meantime, anyone still having notification problems, try greenify. The fix is in experimental features but you will need to pay for this feature. I've decided to settle on 2.1.5i. Will move to asop when it is more stable. Cheers.

Could you elaborate more? I'm also using greenify but issue still persists.
You need xposed framework for it to work. In settings, go to experimental features. Tick telephony wake up, don't remove notifications and gcm push. I have all notifications coming in on time. Gmail default app seems to be the only problem app so I use default email app instead. P.s. I tried deleting the first folder and files but it shows up again after reboot. The second file is gone. Is this correct? Thanks.

I had all the options selected. Guess it does not work for me.
And yes, files are recreated. I would suggest adding the deletion to a task sequence for reboot to automate the procedure.

Regarding notifications, I've also put every messaging app and email in white list and auto run management. Funny why it's not working out for you. I get reply notifications from youtube too, without adding it. Not sure about how to do the task sequence but everything seems to be fine now.

You can use Tasker to create a reboot button or profile.
But I suggest using other mm roms.. Coloros pales in comparison after I switched.
If you're rooted, removing Security Centre would stop a lot of issues....
These Chinese phones are over the top on built in security apps and I assume because China has a lot of aggressive adware.
Xposed and MinMinGaurd, plus AdBlock Browser fixes a lot of issues.
@RobboW Do you really remove the Security Centre?
I kept it but it is annoying at times. You have to go in and check so many settings if you install anything you want to run at boot or start up itself. I even had to move a couple of apps into system instead of user so they would run reliably.
Does Xposed trouble with Color OS?
Deleting the file and folder seems to do the job, but not 100%. Yesterday I noticed Waze was closing after switching to another app, so I checked and they were back in the data folder. Deleted them again, but they seem to reappear after every reboot? Anyway, now waze seems to work and does not close with the "new" fikes.
Another solution to the problem is to convert apps that have problems to system apps. It worked for me with Chrome (wasn't getting Facebook notifications at all in chrome), Google Calendar, and Titanium Backup (batch actions would not complete because the app would close when not in foreground).
Do you need to be rooted to locate/delete the two files? I can't seem to find it on my device.

Hi,
after upgrading my M9 to Android 7.0 (4.23.617.1) my recent Apps Screen is cleared after rebooting the device. As I often use lists and .pdf's I got mailed (also for work) it's very uncomfortable to search all the last received mails, open them, click on the attachment and have the list open. Is there any way to get the recent App list restored after reboot?
best regards

None that I'm aware of.
I suppose you might be able to work your way through the Android log, but that seems like much more work than just searching your files & email.
Yes, that is really not better!
Well, may there comes an Option to switch it on/off in the future. Even when it would be just can be done when rooted - for me it's worth it.
Thank you for the quick reply!

Control panel? What does that mean? There's an application or software on Samsung/Android devices called "control panel?”

I kept getting system UI errors in Dex. Did a fresh install, no issues. Started uninstalling the usual stuff through the adb app and after again issues. Did a fresh install again and decided to disable the system apps instead of uninstalling them and there were no issues. My thought is that my issue was related to what shown in the settings app as I usually uninstall digital wellbeing and tips and these options would be gone from the settings, now when they are disabled they still show but dont react when pressed.
Do you still have shortcuts of one of the apps you uninstalled/disabled in the control panel?
