http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855557 is this correct?
kernel-CFS-UV-OC-29082012-V2.1.zip -
yap that is. using it till 1,7 Ghz and smooth/stable
However, no game will run fluid if it already has major lags with the stock frequency.
Especially lags that are caused by memory management can not be fully compensated by raw CPU-power.
So for better gaming experience, other control levers might be more effective, like uninstalling apps with background activities or disabling home screen in-memory-lock, if enabled. Exceptionally, before starting huge games, cleaning RAM can also avoid some lags at the beginning, as you anticipate androids low memory killer methods this way.

hi I have searched but to no success, I need the best Rom for gaiming and oc kernel I mean which is going to give me best performance and fps on games like backstab which lag abit. cola Rom looks perfect but it's only for cdma :-( so can someone who's played abit with roms on there play give me some advice please as I have finally gone and unlocked my bootloader thanks in advance and any help will be appreciated
The best for gaming is stock rom + custom kernel (like eg. DoomKernel) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502)
For me it works on every game without lags (OC to 1.21 gHz)

thanks for reply, you have no lag on any game just by upping cpu by 200mhz ? is your stock se Rom bloat free ? I was thinking maybe oc by atleast 1.4 to really notice improvements because backstab lags quite abit in some places
with this kernel u got root and u can (using Titanium Backup) delete all bloatware from SE.
U can OC to max 2 gHz but i think it drain to much battery and i dont need more than 1.21 gHz, but if i find a game with lugs i change it.
doom kernel here I come
Best Gaming Rom + Kernel
Best Gaming rom is:
NXT Gaming 1.2
Its amazing All the tweaks in it together make it so fast i dont even use oc unless im like playing MC4(Yea,mc4,I can play mc4,The game that lagged so much on the xperia play,I can play it at minimal 30 Fps,i even get 50 somtimes and in cutscenes i get around 60)
I also use Lupus GB,It is truly amazing,I used to use Doomkernal because of its 1.8Ghz Oc capability but Lupus is truly faster,I got on average 30 FPs with Lupus @ 1.2 Ghz vs Doomkernal at 1.2 Ghz i got on average 26
I mesured all this with an app in the appstore called FPS Meter
Hope this helped!
I am playing around with some other OC/UV apps other than SetCPU and was wondering, for those who do OC /UV /UC, what app do you prefer?
ive tried out (so far)
SetCPU
Voltage Control Extreme
AnTuTu CPU Master Pro
CPU Control Pro
ROM Toolbox Pro

Is there a way to make a shortcut to the performance settings, under settings?
i tried to make an action shortcut but haven't been able to. I myself don't play with UV often. If i could create a faster way to access the performance settings i would prob use it.

I've had my A100 for a few weeks, up to now I've used AnTuTu CPU Master Pro to overclock and undervolt, hasn't failed me yet, originally used my ROMs built in settings but that began to be a bit tedious, constantly having to dig through my settings for it got a bit old, a convenient shortcut to the performance settings would be just dandy.

The only thing i find built in ROM performance settings lack is voltage control, generally liking my overclock/undervolt, performance is nice, generally pretty stable up to now.

I found overclocking the GPU helps a lot more. There is a kernel for jellybean rom (a.k.a. CM10) and may work for ICS and the GPU overclock helps a lot. Use built in CM over clocker @ 1.5 GHz and GPU @ <400 MHz or whatever speed the kernel builder put it at. The original GPU clock speed was around 350 MHz or something so that is a substantial boost in terms of speed. Other then some heating when playing games no problems and perfectly stable. Battery doesn't seem to drop a bit maybe 1 or 2% faster.

Good call pulling them down if he did though, not all devices can handle it. The old board did, the replacement didn't take it so well.

Your English is not too bad my new friend. Thank you for your feedback. I like to find out what programs and settings users are using on their A100s. Helps me find different options to try on my tablet.
I love SetCPU and have PRO version as well, but it was causing bad SOD problems on my tablet. I am now currently testing others.

i've heard some people can OC their GIO to 921MHz stable, but on my gio it can't even get stable on 883Mhz. on 864MHz is somewhat stable but i still get hung or FC randomly, im super stable at 844MHz.
Why does my phone can't be OC like them other guys?

Why not stop overclocking ? Just find a very fast rom and then you can save the overclocking , hence the instability and hotness and draining battery. That way you will have longer life on your Gio.
L.E. : just change the minimum frequency to 245 and refrain from using roms that are heavy right now , like CM 10.1 , try anything based on gingerbread like Adrenaline or Enhanced 2.3.6 or DebianDroid for example , or AOSP ICS wich i find very fast.

well currently im using AOKP milestone 6 CM9 based, i use conservative governor 245-844MHz, installed adrenaline engine 4.4, and pim my rom and set my OOM and LMK to medium settings. battery is drained only when im using data or playing games obviously. actually this ROM is superb for me performance wise, its just, i feel like i can squeeze a bit more of it for playing games you know. its like i see this slight lagging and i thought if only i could use a little more CPU power, the lag will be gone
Even you can overclock a 1st gen AMD Duron to 2Ghz with liquid nitrogen, it just doesn't make sense doing it
AW: [Q] OC problem
i can oc my cpu to 960mhz but i think it makes no sense... you don't feel the extra speed in normal use only in benchmarks... my cpu is set to 480mhz because it's enough for every app i am using (facebook, whatsapp, xda, browser and so on).
Hello guys!
I have Xperia arc(LT15i) running modded .587, running on Lupus v10 kernel at 364-1612Mhz, ondemand, sio, with the kernel memory enhancements written on unit.d.(+ disabled cpu rendering and several other unit.d scripts).
Recently i downloaded CSR Racing, just to try it. The problem is that the game is RAM and CPU hungry. The gpu handles smoothly the game, but when the cpu is overloaded, the game continues to run, but the touchscreen is irresponsible for a moment(the problem accures at most of the time, but not always). I tried performance governer with several other schedulers but the difference is bearly visible.
My opinion is that the touchscreen suffers of insufficient priority. Is there any way of having this fixed?

It's not a matter of touchscreen priority, the game takes up a lot of memory so although it runs smoothly, the touch input will lag.

Try with flashing Adreno v.3 drivers - they will make the phone more responsive in every way with nearly to zero UI lagginess!

Thanks for the response! I've flashed them more than 4-5 months ago(instantly when they were out)
EDIT: I want to flash 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. I looked some JB roms and they were told to be very performance friendly... the only thing which prevents me flashing are the JB kernels which are with disabled 720p support.

Better with flashing an custom ICS ROM that you can mod so it act and looks like an JB ROM - it will give you 720p support without any quality drawbacks!

Usually i do not play games, and when required for a moment, when running on 1.6Ghz max i have instant response. My phone doesn't get warm, except when charging and playing heavy game or browsing the net via 3G(from which i stay away from)
Thanks for the warning, as i know the silicon melts at more than 130-140C, which i think are hardly possible. Since a long time i've developed for myself a way of holding my phone while having usage with intense processing. Add that i observe my battery and the temperature was never beyond 40-43C while charging and heavy usage.
And thanks a lot for the responses connected with my phone I'll take a note
My Arc S lags on CM10 and I dont wanna uninstall most apps cause I use them a lot.
Available kernels only overclock to 1.6 GHZ
The only kernel Ive seen reaching these heights is doomlords but its only for the stock roms.
Which kernel would do this?
Overclocking does not give you any performance boost.
And I strongly recommend to not overclock to such frequency, you might brick your device very easily. Permanently.

I didn’t realize that overclocking doesn’t provide any performance boost in Hell, but here on Earth it most certainly does, as I’ve had experience doing so from the early 90’s till today. You should limit the overclock on the Arc S to a maximum of 1.6GHz though because anything higher may lead to accelerated electromigration and shorten the lifespan of the processor, possibly drastically. Individual CPU’s may only hit 1.5 GHz reliably, others 1.7 Ghz. Also, Android is designed to use whatever memory it can, so lots of free memory is not particularly a good thing. But freezing, hibernating or Greenifying apps that aren’t needed all the time will let the system use what memory is then free more efficiently, leading to a better user experience. And I always have at least 7 widgets running, but they really do slow it down.

Same old advice:
- off mobile data when not in use.
- reduce brightness if too bright.
- turn off when not in use etc
- kill the process when not using app(Greenify) and remove recent apps (hold down home button and clear all the apps there)
