Hey y'all I just upgraded today and decided to give the nexus a shot. I've upgraded to 4.0.4 and it is not rooted. The download speeds in the play market are abysmal. It literally took almost 5 minutes to download touchdown. Anyone know how to fix this? Im downloading over 3g. I don't have wifi at home. Internet speeds are fine in all other apps. Speed test gives download speed of 1.47mbps and upload of 0.7.

Its an email app.
OP what network? Those speed test results make sense when you say its slow... it takes a long time to download on 1.4mbps down lol. Since you say "upgraded" I'm assuming you're on Verizon or Sprint? Those speeds are definitely about normal on EVDO.

Lol sorry yeah its an email app. Im on sprint. I guess the speeds are slow but my old og evo didn't take nearly as long to download apps on 3g. Perhaps its just nostalgia.

That's still pretty slow. And that's much much much faster than most people are getting on Sprint nowadays.

This exactly. The CM devs have to deal with both CDMA and Wimax whereas the AT&T version is basically the same as the international version.

So the rom will work on the at&t version because the phones are the same thing... We are cdma and its a lot more complicated to get that working, and none of the team hacksung has the phone... Yet

I get 7 meg on three in the uk when in the city. At home I get about 2-3meg but three are currently in the process of updating their transmitters anyway, I really can't fault them.
As for wifi performance I get 25 meg via my router where as my laptop connected to the same router via wifi gets 35 meg(39 wired).

I'm curious to know what speeds are like on roaming also, I could prob do it and not get terminated with Sprint cuz I dont use a lot of data. Although I'm getting about 2 megs down anyway, so not to bad.
I wish I could get those 4G speeds! they don't have it around me, it's in like one city in michigan right now smh.

After a day of use, I did notice a little hit. I would say I lost about 4hrs of battery use. I used to get about 1 1/2 days on a charge. I had to charge last night at bed time after a days use. Could be because I was so excited about the speeds I had to use them more then usual though.
