It's sense 3.5 and so far I have experienced no bugs, great battery life and way better speed than BAMF. And why does anyone use BAMF in the first place? I used BAMF for a week before discovering newts inchd and it was ok and all but it wasn't as fast as inchd and its an older version of sense. Plus BAMF had more bugs(or bugs in general) and inchd has better battery life. Just my thoughts.

Also sense 3.5 is more polished than 3.0 and there are noticable changes coming from sense 3.0. It looks way better.

What do you mean why don't people use it??? Most of the people who do went over to his forum when he left xda. And I agree. It's the sickest ROM period.

The way he left here, after just using this place to advertise (against xda rules btw) left a sour taste in my mouth.

To me it didn't come across as advertising. Maybe its cuz I didn't see many of them from the beginning, but hey lol. I think he still works his butt off for his work. He pours his heart into them for sure.

Lol, and I respect most people here, although I also understand his frustration with the trolls and stuff. And like taebom said, all the main ROM teams use their own sites for bug reports and support and stuff. So, I can see both sides of it, and I hate that he left. I appreciate what the devs here do, especially considering they do it for free mostly. I love that I can play around with my phone and not be afraid cuz I know some people here and there that'll help me with just about anything.

Skyraider Zeus is great if you're looking for stock mixed with the favorite sense 3.0 aspects. Very well done, and supports GSM.
This ROM is based on sense 3.5 which is actually an unreleased version. It's more refined IMO, and a lot better put together.
Downsides would be in SZ, you don't have the eye candy that is DINC2HD, but with DINC2HD you can't change lock ring. In all honesty, its all preference. Both ROMs are very well put together. I personally would recommend them both to people depending on what they were looking for.
For me, DINC2HD is my daily. I've found it hard to change to anything else.
Hope it helps

I'm just not that into Sense, so I spend a lot more time on the AOSP ROMs. But I've given pretty much every Dinc2 ROM a spin, and I actually agree; Newt's "Incredible 2 HD" ROM is easily the best Sense-based ROM available for this phone. Not trying to hate on BAMF, but I think Newt wins out.

It just seems to be the most complete. The least amount if bugs, and the funny part is its a test ROM sent out by HTC. I say they're finally on the right track. This also has more free RAM than the sense 3.0 ROMs I've tried.

How much free ram? I'm at 320 with miui.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
Well, definitely not as much as MIUI lol. Around 160-ish after a while. It's not huge and I got better on stock, but considering what all this does over stock, and how I was getting closer to 100 using sense 3.0 I'd say its running smoother. Plus, its android so free RAM means much less than on Windows.

Just wondering what everyone else likes for a rom. Feel free to tell us your likes or dislikes with your current rom. With the choices we have available to us on this device, I'm sure some are wondering which rom is right for them.... this poll should give people some kind of direction.
EDIT: I must apologize. I must of been tired to miss putting viperROM on the poll list. Don't suppose there is a way to edit that poll is there?
I'm loving Starburst and glad I finally budged out of my curmudgeonly ways off of stock as I wait for CM. It's very full featured and allows tweaking without turning into a theme-fest. I was very surprised with it.
Though I am also preparing my phone to try out some other ROMs today....I'm a big fan of Calkulins work so I'm pretty eager to try that out.
Calkulin FTW
Although to be fair I haven't tried starburst yet. Didnt boot when I tried it but it was my first attempt at a custom ROM on this phone so I am sure I did something wrong

To be honest, and maybe this means I'm a ****, but when I read about people having all kinds of problems with a rom or a kernel or a mod or anything my first thought is automatically "they probably fncked something up."
A vast majority of the times this is, in fact, the problem. I'm on my 8th? 9th? Android device. I hack 'em up to pieces. I try to be a good boy and read everything thoroughly...but I don't. I skim for the important bits. If I screw something up it's usually pretty obvious, then I fix it, then it works. I have never actually had a ROM that has destroyed my battery life (I have with experimental kernels, but, to be expected), I have never lost 3G function, I have never gotten unfixable bootloops, I have never killed my wifi or 4G to where a full wipe and reflash didn't bring it back...never. For years now I have been hearing some wild problems from people and never actually experienced any of them for myself in a way that wasn't fixable, by myself.
I have gotten better battery life, faster internet, working youtube, faster wifi (the 'wifi n' mod on Evo4G), etc etc etc.
I don't know, I'm always skeptical of people claiming a rom or kernel are screwing things up when there are other people with no problems at all.
Alpha and Beta roms notwithstanding, lol
viper for some reason not on here..
but anyway, my vote is for viper. Need to try Calkulin more though
yeah.. where's viper? I think the rom is quiet good.. and nobody 's seems to complain much on his thread..

Of ones you listed I like AOKP best. Its just clean. IT feels polished.... Deff a possible daily driver if you don't mind bluetooth problems (which might be fixed by now anyway) point is its a good rom. However the one you didn't list in my title is JELLYBAM
Which I use and love. Its not as polished its a mix of 3 sorces... but its dam good.... plus best bat life I have got from a rom Unless you want one thats stripped down (then you can get more bat life) but I like to use my S3 and I enjoy hell out of it... anyway k
Try jellybam.... if its to not the norm for you just go with AOKP or Im sure cm10 be fine too... I never tried them though..
Later bro. There all good in there own way. Try a few its as simple as a back up lol
I've also tried Jellybam for a few days and battery life has surpassed the other roms I've tried (Tasks' AOKP and Liquidsmooth which I've used for about a month each). I mostly use my phone for web browsing, sms, and skype. I do not call much. I was pretty shocked that I was still at 60% after a day (used about 2 hours of screen time). I've also used ktoonsez kernel with the same settings for each rom.

I love aokp and tasks been my daily driver with updates always for about two months I can't go back to touch wiz I tried. Task and I use ktoonz kernel. I personally had a lot of sync issues with Carbon. I switched to Liquid the other day and have really enjoyed it. I did not try the release yesterday by Carbon.
To be 100% honest, though, Team Carbon are former members of Team Liquid and the ROMs are near identical. If you try them both, it's basically the exact same layout and everything except it says " Carbon Controls" in the menu instead of " Liquid Controls".
Try then both though. It's the wonderful fallback of a Nandroid

I actually switched about 20 minutes ago to carbon just to give it a whirl and see what is different. Aside from liquid using nova launcher, there really isn't a noticeable difference.
Carbon doesn't have any issues with lockscreen like liquid does though and that's huge for me so I think I'm gonna roll carbon for a while

I flashed both the latest versions and there are some differences. Carbon doesn't have DPI options whole LS does. LS does have the option to decrease the size of the quick tiles. There are other minor differences as well such as placement of options within the settings menu. Under the hood, I think I read LS sticks more to CM10 coding.
In terms of performance, I can not tell the difference. Both are extremely fast. Both are extremely lightweight. You really can't go wrong with either.
What I think I'm going to do is go back and forth. I'll run the latest release of each rom and wait until who ever releases first. The devs of these rooms are unbelievably talented. Don't stick to just one rom. Go back and forth and support these devs.
I'm running LS at the moment and who ever pumps out the next build, I'm going to flash it. Really can't go wrong with either. My reason for using LS at the moment is because the DPI feature. I like having chrome and Gmail in tablet mode. But I'm sure carbon will put this feature in the next build or so. In my opinion, these are the best roms out there for the GS3. Really 1A and 1B.

I ran the liquid smooth RC... 9 I think it was? it was on 4.1.2 but never gave their 4.2.2 ROM a try before it went RC, but I had a lot of little issues with it being buggy and they just started to get to me. I eventually swapped back to cm 10 because it was more stable for my own personal experiences with it.
As for carbon, I didn't flash the first release because I wanted to watch the boards and see what issues people were having with it, but I've been on carbon since 1.1 and I really like it. It doesn't seem quite as buggy as liquid smooth did. The only exception I have to that, is the most recent release (1.4) was consistently giving me issues with regards to display timeout. It would timeout after 15 seconds (I like a short timeout) and the screen would go black, without the CRT off animation, and then it would just freeze with a faint horizontal line through the middle and the hardware buttons would still be illuminated. I could not unlock the screen or get it to turn back on, and had to pull the battery out and reboot my phone every time. I tried reflashing several times, and I continue to get the same issue so I flashed back to 1.3. No issues on this version, it runs solid.

I've used both. They aren't a whole lot different since AOKP is based off of CM10.1. AOKP has more customization options but the functionality is almost the same. I'd say you'll get similar performance and battery results with either. Just try one and if you don't like it then try the other.

I find I get better battery life on CM10.1 but that's probably subjective from user to user.. The only way to get a good representation of what battery life is to let the rom settle for a few days.. I found that after a cycle or 2 by battery dramatically increased.

For the 10000000000000th time. AOKP is NOT based on Cyanogen.. They are both written and built from the AOSP source. They share a few bug fixes and things like that, but are two totally different ROMs.. I believe that the Cyanogen team is responsible for the kernel between them.
I prefer AOKP personally. Cyanogen has been around a lot longer.. Honestly the performance and battery usage between the two is super similar. Each has a few tweaks and options that the other doesn't have, so this will be a decition based on your own preference.
