okay heres the deal my phone has been acting up alot... and the other day i swapped batteries and at that my phone refused to do anything past the htc splash screen, ive even ran every ruu file that i could find and to no avail so i am now having to send the phone in for repair, Problem is i have the s-off bootloader from revolutionary and i cant load into the rom to change my mainver and downgrade so
My Question is "is there anything i can do using fastboot commands to either downgrade the bootloader or make the phone a complete brick so that i can get the warranty repair done?"
You can do an OEM boot loader re-lock.
Android, the open source do whatever you want OS.

Well, bricking it would be easy, flash a radio and pull the cord in the middle of it, or just smash it . Check out the return to s-on guide, that might work for you.

yes you read that right, this may sound strange at first but does anyone know of a reliable way to brick the one V so it goes into qcom dload mode? i have a jtag box and some friends who want s-off but dont want their phones opening up if possible so a non intrusive method of getting into dload mode would be great (ive tried going into bootloader, hit reboot bootloader and holding vol+ along with all the other methods mentioned in the easy to brick thread but still no qcom mode on either phone, one on hboot 1.16 and the other on 1.18) any help appreciated.
No need of booting into bootloader, when you are on the home screen keep pressing power and volume up for 20s.. although it hurts my soul to type this..

uhm~ try throwig ur phone :!
Flash a kernel not for your phone .....
That will **** it up
dont think the kernel will be enough, i think it has to scrap the partitions to default to qcom mode, tried all combos i can do button wise, the damn things just wont brick, guess ill have to crack em open and short the emmc manually
flash a different device k ROM

Hey guys,
I'm a long time lurker and have searched everywhere for a solution. You're my only hope now.
Long story short this is a borrowed phone. I've been trying to Root --> CWM --> flash this phone for about a week with no luck.
It's an S710D on ICS.
I've been able to unlock the bootloader with HTC Dev, and i've flashed and fastbooted into 4ext. Once i flashed AOKP Build 6 in recovery the phone would not boot into the OS. It just hangs on the white HTC start screen. I can however boot into bootloader and recovery.
I've tried various PG32IMG's, fastbooting into recovery, various wipes, CWM and 4ext, i've even found an RUU.exe but it didn't work.
The phone is S-ON. Phone is not recognized via ADB but is recognized via Fastboot command line.
this is the display when in Bootloader:

i'm hoping one of you knows how to make this phone boot, or possibly have an RUU for an S710D on ICS?
Thanks in advance.
Dude, this is not the forum for that phone, I hope you didn't flash anything from the inc 2 forums here as you may have bricked it. Especially the radios. You have the Chinese variant I believe, maybe the inc s, not sure...

Awesome. Thanks for the help! Turns out i really did need an S710D based rom. I've been trying to flash an Incredible2 rom and it just wouldn't boot. I managed to track down a tweaked Relay rom for the S710D on a chinese forum and was able to flash it through recovery. I also needed to extract the Boot.img from the rom and flash that through fastboot. Once that was done it booted up good as new!

That is impossible. With a locked bootloader is not possible to flash partitions in fastboot. You must have been unlocked already and therefore the HTCdev error.

hello,
First of all I want to mention I am throughly confused because there are tons of threads out here.
I have a H3G Uk DHD and unlocked the boot loader.
I have been trying to follow this gude in vain.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168500
I am stuck at step 7 where it says Go to recovery advanced options and reboot recovery... I cant understand what it means.
So i figured it was to do something with htc fast boot. got the fast boot files and try to do a fastbook flash boot boot.img
But it just sits there saying waiting for device though it is connected.
I even tried putting pd98img.zip in the memory card and rebooting in recovery but it says cant find or wrong image.
Can someone please help? i am so tired of this
What do you mean step 7?
This one? "Reboot into bootloader again and plug the phone to the PC."
If so, try universal adb driver if you are in fastboot mode and your phone isn't recognized.
How to get into the fastboot menu is not your problem right? If it is, then switch off the phone,
hold vol down and press and hold power, release power and you should see the bootloader in hboot, where you can choose the fastboot mode.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for the reply. There is a pdf guide in that thread.
When I reboot, all I see is HBOOT, RECOVERY, FACTORY RESET AND SIMLOCK I think. If
I cant seem to find fastboot mode.
Are there other ways to install pd98img? Whats this gold card thing? I created a gold card and placed pd98img.zip in the root of the card. It still wont install. Any pointers?

Which HBOOT version? You can find that in bootloader. Here I have 2.00.0029 with entries
fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock, image crc.

Haha! I actually did some research for a week and officially found the word from developers that 0027 has a bootloader that cannot be unlocked. One has to upgrade it to 0029.i exactly did that and it worked! I'm on CM11 now.
I just thought that maybe you know some other alternative solution that i might not be aware of at the moment.
Um..mine was 0027 and it worked just fine

hi,
I have a m9 with a non working screen that needs to go back under warranty. The device comes up but I can't see any thing and touch doesn't work. I need to wipe the phone, but can't see anything. I used MHL and can see the screen once its up but can't do anything on the screen. I can boot into recovery, but can't see anything. The only option I've come up with is to use fast boot to wipe the device, but have to go s-off to do it. HTC says it will void my warranty if I do, which is ridiculous... as if me going s-off after my phone broke has anything to do with my warranty claim...
Does anybody have any ideas of how to wipe my phone that doesn't void warranty? Maybe someone can give me the steps to factory reset through recovery blind, please? I found some videos, but didn't have much luck.
Thanks for any help,
You can't use fastboot erase userdata? I think that's the right command. I didn't think you needed s-off for that though.

Thanks for the reply. The fastboot -w fails when trying to erase userdata saying it cant with s-on :crying:
I've tried guessing my sat through recovery without much luck.
Did you try it without the w? Idk if that works at all, I know I've used it on nexus before. Not sure with htc.
