I had a similar problem to this. But it does not happen so frequently now anyway. Maybe because someone is editing the site itself and therefore it goes into code mode.

after downloading internet pictures...store/cache/save them?

there was a post made a long time ago, about automatically downloading pictures in the email boxes (whether in imap or pop3), so you dont have to click the "download internet pictures link" every time
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3627632
it looks like that has never been answered, if anyone does have an answer great...
but i'm actually looking for a 2nd thing, is there anyway to download all the internet pictures when you click the link, but then actually have those images somehow stored as cache, or saved in the phone until its deleted. the reason i ask is this, sometimes i have emails that are filled w/ lots of pictures, but they also have a ton of text as well. so i'll read what i can of the email, and if i can't finish it i'll close it. but then when i go back to it, i have to click to download the images again. basically i'm looking for some type or regedit or something that would possibly work, that would allow the pictures to be instantaneously displayed every time i go back to the particular email after closing messages.

Mail attachments not downloading fully

I have been having the oddest issue the post few months.
I get emails all the time with an attached PDF (a report) via pop mail setup. I had it set in the settings to only download like 22k of the email or so...so it would ask you when opening it, if you want to download the whole email on next send/rec.
The last few months or so though, the phone would ask but then it would stop at 45k (true size is about 60-90k) and say the download is complete and show that its a pdf. Trying to open it will lead to an error stating the attachment could not be found. It asks if you would like to re-download the attachment but doesn'0t do anything. It shows the green arrow next to the email in the list showing its in wait to download but nothing ever happens or changes.
I finally set it to download the FULL email and not partial, and it works for txt/html parts of emails but not with the attachments. No matter the size of the attachment, it always says 45k next to the attachment's name and won't open.

Captcha bug

Hi,
There seems to be an infuriating bug with the site. I keep getting captcha prompts despite entering the correct information.
I know this because if I enter incorrect information the I get a correct error message saying the Captcha didn't match.
However, if I enter correct data then I still get a form rejection with words to the effect that XDA adds a captcha for those with less than 10 posts.
This is a fairly major bug because there's no way for me to contact anyone, including site administrators.
Obviously the bug is intermittent.
captcha bug still here

No problem here, apparently. Can you give steps to replicate the problem?
We're using the industry-used reCaptcha. It's difficult to prevent spammers. I know it's frustrating sometimes, but it's a necessary evil to keep XDA free of spam.

So how do we get through this?
If you guys could provide some screenshots of you entering in the proper code and the system rejecting it, that would be helpful.
I've been testing this, sometimes I do get an incorrect code but usually the next time it is fine.
You can use the round 'reload' button to get a new one if it fails.
If you continually have a problem with it even though it is entered correctly, maybe let me know your IP, and what browser plugins you may use.
Hi
I tried to join this forum yonks ago and could not get past captcha so I hope you don't mind me using this post to say the new photo image is much easier than the joined together hard to read letters.
Some sites use a form of joining to defeat spammers requiring joiners to rotate image a number of times, randomized of course to the correct way up. As you can guess this requires a real human....rather than a fake human like me....giggles to pass the test.
I also found I could login via google account
Hope that helps someone
Also - no errors for me, but 11 rounds?!?
11 rounds of selecting images seems a bit excessive..?
And another 6 to post this message!

XDA's reCAPTCHA not working correctly

The reCaptcha system isn't working correctly for me. I think it worked first time i was hit with it then problems thereafter. On visual I checkmarked the correct boxes multiple times and the captcha wasn't put through. The audio was extremely hard to make out but after 3-4 trys I finally got a match.
Anyone else having issues?
What all flags do you have in place that trigger the system? I am not use to the reCAPTCHA system. Used others on my sites.
All I can think at the moment that might have flagged it are :
-Tried logging into my original account phonecapone 5 times earlier today.
-New user account posting to this forum with a low post count.
-I am on a dynamic ip.
-Cookies haven't been totally flushed in this browser.
Any ideas?

EDIT: For this post it tust took me 2 times before finally outputting code. I selected the correct images as well.

I absolutely despise Gerrit.

This might be quite ranty, but I just want to talk about a problem with the service LineageOS offers in order to actually contribute to the project.
Why am I doing it on XDA? Honestly I looked for a long time on the official website for a forum, and I couldn't find anything, so, here I am.
I wanted to fix a small inaccuracy I've seen in the wiki page of a device I just installed LineageOS to, so I read their wiki page on how to do exactly that. I made my change, and when I wanted to actually commit my changes, I saw the instructions said to create a Gerrit account.
'Sure thing', I thought as I happily went to the site, and I clicked on the 'Sign in' button. To my surprise, I reached a Google login page. I thought I pressed something wrong, so I went back, wanting to just create an account using an ordinary e-mail address, for multiple reasons, privacy and staying away from Google as much as possible being the largest one.
When I realised that this was the only option, I eventually caved in since I already took the time to make my change, and I figured I might as well just upload it. I logged in and, to my surprise, I saw I had a profile picture I set when I was around 13. Weirded out, I clicked on 'Change Picture', only to see I was getting redirected to none other than Gravatar. Ugh.
I went through the trouble of getting my Gravatar account back since I used an old e-mail address (actually just hijacking my old account to delete it and then creating a new one). Needless to say, it didn't work at all, and I still had my Minecraft profile picture from fifth grade on Gerrit.
Giving up temporarily, I scrolled more through the Gerrit account details, and I reached a section about e-mail addresses linked to the account. I added the e-mail address I actually wanted to use to the account, and, surprisingly, it allowed me to set that one as the main address, but even more surprisingly, it allowed me to remove the GMail address from the account. So, without thinking twice, I did that. Everything seemed well, even my profile picture updated to the normal one. I then continued to add more details to the account, like my username, and just as I was about to generate myself a new SSH keypair to get started and finally end this, for some reason, the page refreshed and it kicked me out of the account. Then, I tried logging in, shortly after realising my edits were on an inaccessible account due to the need to log in only through Google and the fact that I removed the GMail address. So, now, I technically have two broken accounts: one that can't update its profile picture and with a bad username (the one on the Google account), and one inaccessible one due to how signing in is handled that's hogging onto the username I want to use (the one with the e-mail I wanted to use).
So, in conclusion, LineageOS Gerrit, for some reason, forces Google account log in and also forces the use of Gravatar. Really now? I understand offering Google account log in as an option, but not as the sole way of creating an account. I couldn't care less about the profile pic if I didn't have an old one I couldn't replace.
Why don't you make it easy for people to contribute and just offer classic, normal, e-mail sign in, like any other service?
This is the 21st century.
The point is to make the trivial as tedious as possible!
There are times that I have some change to offer but I don't feel like git-ing the whole project.
So I don't.
There have been times that I have found an error in closed source, told the OEM which file, which line, which character.
Nope. Nobody interested.
Feels wierd, when LineageOS is supposed be “private” and about “privacy”. While I personally do not care how to log in, it feels like this is kind of against what they are trying to get.

+1 I was equally annoyed about it, many times:

Your story is pure horror This is just despicable and entirely disregards the wiki concept.

Nah, I don't even mind having to `git clone` the entire wiki. As long as you provide me a method to contribute with instructions, I'll follow it happily.
But, I understand your point. Maybe it'd be better to have an approach similar to the Arch Wiki, for example. Just an account creation on the wiki website, a discussion page where you can actually discuss a change before making it (I don't know why, but making a pull request for something seems way too final for me, sometimes I'd like discussing a change before making it instead of having that discussion in a Git pull request or issue) and a simple `Edit` button.

Yeah, it seemed weird to me too when LOS looks like it at least tries to be privacy-centric, but then only offers Google log in to contributors
