The MMORPG Order & Chaos has just been released on the Android Market. Most gameloft games are pretty good, so I am thinking ahout buying it!
I thought maybe this would be a thread for people to talk about it and maybe add each other. Make a Galaxy S II XDA clan or something This game is fun for playing with friends, offcourse.
So, people that bought it: is it worth it?
Price: 5.49 euro.
Im planing on buy the game to
is the game worth it ?
thx
Hello,
I've bought Order & Chaos yesterday but I have already posted on the gameloft technical forum because the game doesn't run smoothly on the SGS2!
There are several issues:.
1. The game often freezes for 1 sec, this happens every 30 sec/1min. The game doesn't really run smoothly.
2. Opening the minimap takes 2 sec and browsing the minimap is really slow
3. In the options, asking for the ping indicator or the camera being vertically or horizontally fixed doesn't work
The gameloft custumer care has already told me that the dev team is working on these issues and apparently I'm not the only SGS2 owner who has these issues.
I hope they are going to resolve this pretty quickly (especially the freeze/lag) because the game in itself is really fun and addictive

I have same problems like you, but i have freezes for 1-2 sec every 10 sec . I hope they will fix it soon.
Market Web Link
I too am having the freezes.
Wonder what they where thinking when they decided you need WiFi to play it...
Do they think people are walking around with WiFi routers in their pockets?
Fail!
This game is Huge, Massive, GODLIKE. Such an incredibly detailed game and plays beautifully. Insanely addicted. Seriously, this is World of Warcradt IN YOUR POCKET!
I just downloaded this game, it is very very nice, and with Anti Aliasing 4x (thanks Chainfire3d) The graphics take a whole new dimension.
The problem is this random stutter/freeze mentioned by everyone every zone loading.
Will wait for a fix, game looks great.
Hows this compared to pocket legends?
Its also a WoW counterpart.
i was thinking about buy it.. but with the freeze problem.. oh ****
This happens due to GPU not running at 267Mhz I believe but at a lower clock rate. This happens on Asphalt 6 and GangsterMiami etc.

Pocket Legends has NOTHING on O&C. This game is just something that you would never imagine possible on this sort of hardware. It's incredible.

and its really was laggy on my sgs2
i deleted it
there was alots of lags
i also have lag with gangstar 2
and with dungeon hunter 2

It can only remove the cache on YOUR PHONE; all game data (characters/maps/weapons in your inventory) is stored on the GameLoft server.
Im actually refering to the big downloaded data through wifi..

Some guys said that flashing a kernel that supports Tegrak, and installing this app might fix the freezes.
I'm on Oxygen, not really having the time to test this, but anyone on stock might give this a try and post feedback.
- install Tegrak
- OC the GPU to 257 Mhz, or find a good clock
- you might as well downclock the CPU a bit to prevent heating, 800 will be enough to run this.
I keep trying to play these games, but on N.O.V.A. 2 HD it gets to a certain loading point when I hit continue and then it stops loading, lags for a few minutes, and then vibrates to a Force Close. On Asphalt 6 I just get some lag and then a black screen right when I launch it. However, I also believe the problem could be that I'm on EF02. While I do not mind downgrading to FroYo, I don't want to do it unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm on the Deodexed EF02 ROM with Tw4Launcher and the SGSII Icons, but I'm using ADW.Launcher EX and WidgetLocker. Thanks.
EDIT: Do these apps check the Market to make sure I have a license for them? I know Asphalt 6 goes straight to a checking license screen so I think it might be pulling some SPB-Shell 3D swag on me and checking to make sure I bought the apps. But at the same time, I don't know if the other one does it. N.O.V.A. 2 HD was working last night and I was playing it, but then it froze and I'm still having problems with it after multiple reboots and all. ROM change time?
Bump. 10char
They work fine for me. Baked snack 2.4 rom

Id say you should email gameloft.. but I hear their support blows.
cd's or tapes?
Well I am an Android Developer + PHP & HTML developer so for my recent project I will be developing a text based game which will mainly be for Xperia Play.
BUT there is 1 problem.
What would this community ( you guys ) like to see in a text based game and would you play them.
Im not advanced enough in Android Development just yet for more complex and advanced games

The never ending story on the spectrum was an awesome text based rpg when i was a lil kid

Not to put a dampener on it, but the Xperia play isn't really suited to text based games.
With the phone in portrait mode the keyboard is too small for my fat fingers. Swype input alleviates some of this. Also the displayed text is minimal.
With the phone in landscape mode you can't see anything, except what you are typing and the keyboard.
The main benefit of the play is the control pad.

Maybe he doesn't necessarily mean text-based as in typing a lot of text yourself, but a text adventure as reading a lot and chose from different options? Like Radical Dreamers for the SNES. I kind of like those games myself, as well as point & click games.

lol u realise this is 2011. but yeah the only text based game i played is zork on 360 via the black ops easter egg
What does living in 2011 have to do with it? Living in 2011 doesn't at all mean we need every game to be graphically advanced with complex controls. I dislike todays games myself. I find much more joy in older retro games and that's the only games I play on my phone. I didn't but it for any of the "new" games.

well that in it self seems pointless why buy a "top of the range well design anyway phone" to play something that can be played on any device with like over a 400mhz processor? but yeah i didnt mean it how you think i did. i meant like why create a text based game for a device that is not really a text based device (no keyboard) why not create it for a PC or other mobile device e.g. the xperia x10 (yes i realise it for android but i believe the xperia x10 to be more suited)

The controls, perhaps?
By the way the SNES emulators needs at least 1Ghz processor to run smoothly. Preferably more to avoid slowdowns in hectic situations.
He might mean text adventures like Love Sims, as in choosing different options will make you advance (seduce the girl) or lose (make her hate you). I took part in one of those projects myself, as a translator... It wasn't published, but it was a lot of fun.

Interesting. I have just finished Chrono Cross, after playing Chrono Trigger. Somehow missed them both first time around. Will have to take a look at this.
I remember playing Fighting Fantasy books when I was younger, which seems similar.

Yeah. This is the link between the two games. I have not played it myself either but I plan to soon. I have also only discovered the original Chrono games in later years also.

I hate starting a thread for a beta but I wanted to get people to join in. Its in the playstore so join in. I've been playing the closed beta for a couple weeks and the graphics and gameplay are great. Help out madfinger and play and report bugs. Go into options to change your character and add weapons. If you're interested leave your ID name here and we could try to organize times to play.
Available for the us?
I just got done playing a round.. Holy heck.. I never thought a Online FPS could ever come close to looking and performing as good as a PC game.. Absolutely amazing graphics and fun gameplay.
Scheeet downloading now.
go figure since i have the tablet tweak on the buildprop it's saying incompatible on my tablet... gonna have to switch it back to the standard layout.... blah

They really need to limit the players or have a minimum connection requirement.. gets laggy towards the end when theres 10 people fighting.. -_- still got 31 kills
Desperately needs random spawn points.. I can't play anymore due to people spawn camping. Completely takes the fun out of it.

Tasker. The app that automates your phone. Takes a while to learn and more expensive than most apps but you can do so much with it.
Sketchit very good game for our stylus.

Here's the list of apps that I've become quite fond of (besides the usual - Facebook, Twitter, etc.):
Shazam - Need to know what a song is quick? Shazam will find out for you.
TuneIn Radio Pro - Music junkie? Enjoy streaming radio? This app is great to have.
Dropbox - Useful for transferring files between your phone, computer, or other devices wirelessly.
Google Drive - Documents/Storage on the Go
Pixlr Express - Photo editing (filters, effects, adjustments, you name it).
SketchBook Mobile - advanced drawing capabilities on your phone - layers, different brushes/sizes/full color palette, really fun to use.
Osmos HD - Absorb the lifeforms around you and avoid being absorbed. Great time waster.
Ski Safari - Beat the avalanche, collect coins, pull off stunts and earn achievements. Another great time waster.
(Note: A few of these apps aren't free. For SketchBook, there's an express version, and there's a demo of Osmos HD.)
Here are some cool ones:
TeamViewer - Awesome for remoting into your desktop. Only thing is, you have to install the app on your desktop, too.
aCar - Want to keep track of your gas mileage and other services? I have not seen a better app on Android for that purpose.
Waze - Ok, may not always provide the best route, but it does a good job of getting you from A to B and letting you know of things that might be along your way...like cops, traffic, etc.
Tip Me (Tip Calculator) - Self explanatory.
Productivity?
Evernote - I guess you wouldn't need this as much if you're using S-note, but it's a great note taking app that syncs across all platforms.
Kingsoft Office - Some of the paid office apps are better IMO, but this one is free.
Adobe Reader - If you want to read PDF's, this is the app to use. The interface is simply the best for reading PDFs. Came in handy many times when needing to look at a service manual while working on my bikes.
Shooting Game?
Critical Strike Portable - Were you a Counter-Strike fan? Well, this game really is Counter-Strike ported to Android.
Time Killing Games?
Angry Birds - this is a given...
World of Goo - not free, but a very interesting game. Not only is it a time killer, but it's also a puzzle game.
Well, these are the ones I can think of at the moment...

I'm 51 and brand new to Android coming from an old iPhone 3gs. I use both a MacBook as well as PC running W8. I got a lot of Google Play gift cards from Santa so I've been having quite a bit of fun.
At the prompting of a 16yr old friend I rooted my phone with CleanROM SE 1.0 which is running like a champ.
Stuff I use all the time.
Nova Prime - already purchased before installing CleanROM
Zedge - yeah nuff said
Airdroid - wifi connection to my macbook and the only solid way I've been able to get the phone and osx to communicate.
ASTRO File
TuneSync
Titanium Backup
Juice Defender
QR Droid
Pocket
BeyondPod
MailDroid - best replacement I've found for apple mail.
HD Widgets
Fun stuff
Angry Birds
Paper Camera
HD Panorama
Pixlr Express
For a twitter client, I really like Slices for Twitter. It lets you group people you follow into slices so you can view only tweets from a particular group of people. Makes managing lots of twitter follows much easier!
