I just received my new One X and low and behold it is S Off and SuperCID. Just curious if this is of any help to any developer out there.

Lucky one...
There has been many examples of this but I'm afraid it doesn't help. Some developers already have devices s-off by official ways.

Well that's rather unfortunate. I just figured I would try and help the community lol oh well
You could always swap it for my s-on hox, that would be helping the community (well helping me)

Not in the slightest lol
Enjoy your s-off hox (but guard it closely)

Do you first have to unlock your bootloader with htcdev to be able to open that screen?
No you just reboot in bootloader

I just tried that and my phone just booted up normally but it took longer than usual. And I got a message that said something like ''Your HTC phone just recovered from something unusual. Do you want to send an error report to HTC?''
So that means my phone is S-ON right?
Wow this is very disturbing.
Please don't try this again. It's clear that you don't have the knowledge required to mess with the phone.

I just wanted to see if my phone is S-OFF or S-ON.
I don't think I've damaged the phone just by trying to open it once on the bootloader even though its locked.
I am sure you didn't damaged the phone.
Do you know how to get in the bootloader?
I think that's the problem...

Nope, like I said, phone just booted up slower than usual and then I got an error report message from HTC that said something like ''Your HTC has recovered from an unexpected error. Do you want to send a report to HTC?''
So I think I can assume my phone is S-OFF right?
No,
Reboot it again, select reboot from the power menu and don't release the volume button until you get in the bootloader.

Noooo u should boot into boot loader to know if it's s-off or no and u failed to boot into bootloader so u should try it again by pressing power and volume down simultaneously and don't leave them until u see boot loader screen
Oh, thanks guys. It seems like I didn't hold the buttons down for an adequate amount of time.
S-ON, bummer.
I wonder how long until everyone is able s-off... Can't wait.

Your situation is not that clear to me.........be more specific as much as you can giving out details that would also help the reader of your issue.
For the meantime go to this link and make sure you followed all instructions carefully then you can go back in this thread for further clarifications if your issue still persists.
Sorry , wrote the OP from my phone..
Anyways the situation is : When I try to root the phone with revolutenary , once it gets to Zerging root after some time it says Root failed or something with a sad smiley.. What could be the cause for this? The phone also has a official update through built-in update feature but as soon as it's done downloading it it says that the downloaded file ( AKA update ) is corrupted/damaged and asks me if I want to redownload and it won't help either.
Hope I was clear enough.
Is it a desire or desire S?
Root and s-off 2 different things. Zerging (which I have never heard of) is nothing to do with root or s-off on the desire.

Updated.. Help please.
Are you rooted ,yet (before using Revolutionary)?
If youre running a costum rom with app2sd+ the programm doesnt work !
I got that problem , too , but i restored rooted stock (or leedroid without app2sd+) an everything worked fine
Well, I followed the method here:
http://theunlockr.com/2011/08/02/ho...android-phone-using-the-revolutionary-method/
To get S-OFF, flash a custom recovery (Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4), and got root.
Now, when I go into the CWM (it seems to work):

}
And then select anything (e.g. backup and restore), it just displays the background:
And doesnt do anything. Pressing the power button simply brings it back to the previous screen (shown above).
Funny thing is, I did manage to install the root zip through CWM earlier, then used Titanium backup, rebooted, and now this happens What's going on. Should I try flashing recovery again?

Help,
My HTC One V keeps rebooting! I have bought it 5 days ago. I previously had a HTC Wildfire and I almost haven't got any problems with it.
But the One V! It keeps rebooting / restarting. It started 1 or 2 days ago after a update I thought, even when the screen is off.
When the phone is on again after a reboot it says: Your phone has recovered from a system crash. Wan't to send a report to HTC?
I send like 15 times the report.
Task manager doesn't have any effect on it.
An another problem is that some installed apps dissapear from my phone. Like they get uninstalled from my phone without my permission, maybe this is a effect of the rebooting. But it's very annoying to download and install the app again.
I did not root my device
How to fix this?

You can download the RUU and run it to restore your phone to factory state. You can then update your phone like you did. I had a similar reboot problem but I had rooted and played with my phone by then. The RUU and update has worked for me and I do not see any reboots now.

Make sure you get the RUU for your device (zone) based on CID.

Hi I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I bought the above phone and when I turn it on it seems to be some sort of development phone , and when I look at things like software information it says protected next to it. What I was wondering is will I be able to update this phone normally as and when software is available or will I have any sorts of problems or restrictions with it?
Thanks in advance.
Its possible it's been rooted and s-off, it's best to look in your app drawer and look for a app called "su" or turn off phone the hold vol down and power at the same time. You will go into boot loader, at the top if it say "s-off" then it's rooted and no way to do official updates but that's ok rooted /custom roms are better

Also do you know how to tell if its open to any network without a sim to try in it.

Yes it means it didnt go through HTC Dev Unlock,(phone is still factory unlocked) and you have engineer Hboot(s-off) also you are SUPERCID, either a stock rom got flashed and removed "SU" or it could be called "superuser" check if you have that

Well the previous owner never did HTC Unlock, cause it would say "relocked" if he did a relock on the phone
Definitely no super user or su
So I should be unlocked for any network .
Does it matter if the boot loader is locked?
When I look at things like software version or processor etc it says protected , do you know why?
Also are there any Roms for this phone already do you know.

no that is Sim Unlock, SUPERCID and S-off means you are region free from the phone(superCID), and you have Fastboot capabilites(s-OFF)
i dont know if there is Roms for your phone, best choice is to google SV or do a search in here, if there is no SU or Superuser app next check if you have a custom recovery if you do then it will be very simple for you to flash a rom on to your phone, if you dont then there is some steps you need to do before you can do so
--------------------------edit-------------------
this is throwing me off a little bit, there is no real forums for the One SV, and i only found one root method, to even have s-off with a locked bootloader is weird, you may actually have a Developer Phone,
Is custom recovery an app? If so I don't have it. Or will it be in settings somewhere?

Not a app Hmm i say for now boot into android and hang till dev comes in and see what he says bout it, but what you are describing and what im looking at this could be really a developers phone from HTC
i could be compeletely wrong on that but it seems it is, as there is no s-off for it not any i could find, and the fact your hboot is still "locekd"

actually go here and post your pic to let others know, if your phone is a dev this is a golden egg, dont follow the root instructions, just let them know what you have the.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113671
Most probably a dev phone. I thought at first that it could a test unit or an unreleased version but when I read mfg kernel my doubt was gone. Mfg allows even more stuff so there's still a chance you won't even need boot unlock even if it says otherwise. Keep in mind I'm just speculating.
A full backup of partitions could be handy for devs.

Its a test unit. One that has an eng hboot oddly enough. It does no good to achieve s-off but it does allow an eng hboot to be flashed once s-off is achieved. I have a surefire way to s-off the sv but can't get a tester

I think it is a soft brick as you can still boot into recovery. If you can boot into recovery then you can recover a backup of a rom that managed to boot earlier. However if you have't made a backup I think you can flash a new rom, just make sure you do a FULL WIPE though.
