Pre-orders, who has put one in then?

Having been flitting between the One S (for the smaller size) and the One X for the potential hardware benefits I decided to just go with the device I most wanted and plumped for the One X, for me the size is really the only thing that made me think twice as I ride motorcycles for a living, am out on the road a lot reviewing kit and a whopping device is a bit of a PITA in leathers.
How many of you have taken the plunge with a preorder and how many of you went through the same decision making process as me then?

But yes, I've pre-ordered and no, I didn't follow that decision making process (the bigger the better as far as I'm concerned).

I didnt see another thread about the same thing, nonetheless I am interested to hear if peoples buying decisions were anything similar. Having stuck (happily) with my original desire for 2 years the leap to such a massive device is, well, a leap.

Agreed, but id put the limit at about 5 inches. Anything more and id feel like im talking on a tablet.

I've just cancelled my preorder with amazon UK.
& preordered with carphone warehouse.
£10 cheaper
Fast delivery, should be launch day (amazon was free super saver delivery which could be 3-5 days)
Basically, the £10 saving has paid for my HTC screen protectors & micro sim card cutter & fast delivery is the bonus.

Yes pre ordered, currently love my SGS2 but I like new toys to play with been saving up for a new phone I know the SGS3 is due soon (will see how that fairs after I've got my HTC).
I'm use to 4.3" can't go smaller, I love the Galaxy Note so think the size of the One X shouldn't be an issue.

VERY bad experience with them.
I ordered a Limited Edition Zelda 3DS from thehut dot com and I paid for next day delivery...
Nothing came next day, so the day after that I phoned them up, they'd lost the parcel... Then they'd found it and it was due to be delivered the next day...
Then their tracking system said that at 14:53 the parcel was handed to the courier driver, then at 14:53 it was in transit, then apparently I signed for it at my house at 14:53... ALL THE SAME DAY!!!
Then a week later a woman knocked on my door and hands me the parcel, they'd delivered it to the wrong address, the other side of the city I live in.
They failed to tell me that I'd (apparently) signed for it, then that they'd lost it.
I think yodel are Crap.

Ordered mine from clove this afternoon. £500 including vat and next day delivery. Now for the cases and Sim card cutter!

Where to buy HTC One X (Unlocked)

I found that the best deal so far is being offered by expansys UK. They are bundelling krusell screen protector with the device too.
Price for me will be £396.94 / $643.
Any knows where I can get a better deal?

Handtec has it for $631 and you'll get it overnight. It'll also be a UK phone vs. Malaysian which is what Expansys has been shipping. If you're rooting and ROM'ing it won't make a difference. Also, if you need warranty repairs, you have to send your phone to Expansys who then sends it to an overseas affiliate who sends it to HTC. If you buy it in the UK your warranty is with HTC directly.

I got mine from Amazon. Not the cheapest, however, you'll get your device overnight, the support is good, and you have 30 days time to return your Device without a reason, even if it is unlocked. If you want to get a Replacement, they send you the replacement overnight, and you can send your old phone back in the same package the new one came in. This is quite helpful if you have a one x with problems...

Plemix is legitimate, I used to get my phones from them. Their company should be located in HK, so I would guess the version should be asian. E-mail them to check, I remember them being pretty good at responding back.

Are you asking about Negri? I placed an order with them over the weekend the one x first came out and didn't even get an acknowledgement, though my amex payment went through. When I emailed on Monday, I was told sorry nothing available and they had no idea when stock would come in. So I cancelled my payment through Amazon and got an immediate email saying oh gee they had one for me but it would cost $70 more to ship. I said no and ordered from Expansys. Have been happy with my one X since. I don't like being jerked around and won't deal with Negri again.

someone in another thread said expansys is selling the malaysian model??? i don't know. the one i received came in a box that said taiwan, indicating taiwan production and system language choices were all european. in fact, american english was not an option - so i downloaded morelocale2 to get that. there is the option to use keyboards from a larger group of languages that include asia.
i would check with expansys re model being sold, as i imagine that could change depending on what's available in the supply chain.
i should add that in another thread another uk retailer was listed. i am sorry, i can't remember the name.

Well crap, I bought mine 11 days ago for $640, received it on the 23rd, and the price dropped on the 28th. So since the price drop happened after I received the product I'm not eligible for NewEgg's price protection. I did talk to a CS guy over livechat though and he "made an exception" and gave me a $40 gift card, so that's nice, but I still basically lost $100 for buying the phone five days too early...

Just a warning... don't order from anyone on Amazon US. They are branded phones (Vodafone Germany for me) and they seemed to be lightly used.
I returned it to Amazon and ordered from Negri yesterday. Glad to hear they are unbranded.

Unfortunately I ordered from Amazon, and received a Vodafone HOX. I returned the phone and got it from Negri.

Been real happy so far with mine from Negri. HT24D build, no issues at all, it's perfect.

Mine is coming in on Monday, I can't wait!

That comes out to $715 US. Shipping is pretty reasonable about 16£ ($26) to the US via DHL.
If you wait a bit after it is officially released you will be able to find it slightly cheaper from hk sellers on eBay (grey market versions).. Also, don't let price be your only guide as to where you are buying from, take into account the reliability of the sellers, especially if you are buying from eBay.

Make sure you get a genuine handset and not some import model from who knows where. If a problem should occur you may not have warrantee in the US. Better check that first, because the price looks way to low to me

Full retail on the US cellular pre order page is $799.

I was reading the pre order threads for the S2 and the S3 here on xda and Clove seems to have a good reputation, so I am not worried about receiving a non genuine phone.
However...I should probably clarify a few things since I did mention buying Grey market in my previous post: Ordering out of country always carries risks with warranty. Essentially if you order from a UK, or any dealer outside North America, you can expect not to have a US warranty, or sometimes only a service-only warranty (ie, you pay for the parts). In the case of Clove or Handtec, warranty is usually handled by the vendor company (you ship back to the shop you bought it from, and they ship it to their repair place).
If you order a grey market phone from ebay, though, expect to have no warranty coverage..as it is unlikely the seller will do a warranty return for you. Also beware of sellers who claim their products carry a Samsung "International" warranty.
I bought my SGN1 from a Sin Tat dealer in HK when I was there for a visit earlier this year. The prices there are very good, but it comes with the understanding that there is no returns, and no warranty outside of HK.

Good experience both times, competitively priced handsets, and prompt delivery received in the UK & Middle East.
Unlikely to get pre-orders, but I will be keeping a keen eye on their site over the next 1-2 months - I think the "ceramic black" option seems more appealing to me this time ("flame red" seems a little pink-ish compared to my U11 "solar red").

Ordered 128 variant just about an hour ago from HTC website

I may pre-order or a wait a little bit to purchase it. However, I am planning on making my toolkit for this device. I'll change my battery on my HTC 10 and retire it. Use it as a backup, when necessary.
Bummer that it doesn't have wireless charging.

Pre-ordered my 64GB translucent blue this morning. It looks good. I hope it's better than the failure of a P20 Pro I just sent back. I haven't been that disappointed in a phone on a long time.

If I was you I would wait for others to review the device on Verizon...... if the history repeat itself U11 was a real mess last year for them

I'm waiting on some good contract deals here in the UK. Mobiles.co.uk and Carphone Warehouse usually got something cheap. I got my 10 pre-ordered as well for a really good price. I would love to pre-order the 12 direct from HTC but cannot afford £600+ at the moment. So hoping for the contract deals will be out soon.

You're lucky to still have contracts. We have "Leases" now in the US. You can rent the phone or buy it out after 18 months. I've been with my carrier for 17 years. I'll be just buying my phones elsewhere instead of the store. They offer very little, if any, promotions.

htc U12+ blue
Order my htc U12+blue 128 this morning.
Will be using it on the TMobile network.
My unlocked htc U11 worked great on it.
Not anticipating any problems with the 12.

Information I got from HTC: Flame Red isn't meant for the pre-order phase, but will be up in Stores (Club and official) as soon as deliveries of pre-orders start on June 18th.
