Pre-orders, who has put one in then?

Having been flitting between the One S (for the smaller size) and the One X for the potential hardware benefits I decided to just go with the device I most wanted and plumped for the One X, for me the size is really the only thing that made me think twice as I ride motorcycles for a living, am out on the road a lot reviewing kit and a whopping device is a bit of a PITA in leathers.
How many of you have taken the plunge with a preorder and how many of you went through the same decision making process as me then?

But yes, I've pre-ordered and no, I didn't follow that decision making process (the bigger the better as far as I'm concerned).

I didnt see another thread about the same thing, nonetheless I am interested to hear if peoples buying decisions were anything similar. Having stuck (happily) with my original desire for 2 years the leap to such a massive device is, well, a leap.

Agreed, but id put the limit at about 5 inches. Anything more and id feel like im talking on a tablet.

I've just cancelled my preorder with amazon UK.
& preordered with carphone warehouse.
£10 cheaper
Fast delivery, should be launch day (amazon was free super saver delivery which could be 3-5 days)
Basically, the £10 saving has paid for my HTC screen protectors & micro sim card cutter & fast delivery is the bonus.

Yes pre ordered, currently love my SGS2 but I like new toys to play with been saving up for a new phone I know the SGS3 is due soon (will see how that fairs after I've got my HTC).
I'm use to 4.3" can't go smaller, I love the Galaxy Note so think the size of the One X shouldn't be an issue.

still considering. if fafsa continues my college loans I will sell my galaxy s2 for half the money, but if not, I'm selling my car and my phone. I wont need a phone at all.

I've pre-ordered my One X from PDA SHOP(dutch). Now trying to get trough 10 days with my beloved but broken Desire HD(no more fm-radio, camera, gps, wifi after dropping the phone from a bit to high)

Didn't heard anything about being accepted so I emailed them and they confirmed I've been successful with Orange

VERY bad experience with them.
I ordered a Limited Edition Zelda 3DS from thehut dot com and I paid for next day delivery...
Nothing came next day, so the day after that I phoned them up, they'd lost the parcel... Then they'd found it and it was due to be delivered the next day...
Then their tracking system said that at 14:53 the parcel was handed to the courier driver, then at 14:53 it was in transit, then apparently I signed for it at my house at 14:53... ALL THE SAME DAY!!!
Then a week later a woman knocked on my door and hands me the parcel, they'd delivered it to the wrong address, the other side of the city I live in.
They failed to tell me that I'd (apparently) signed for it, then that they'd lost it.
I think yodel are Crap.

Ordered mine from clove this afternoon. £500 including vat and next day delivery. Now for the cases and Sim card cutter!

Sim free Phones4u Pre-order

Just to let everyone in the UK know, Phones4u have the HTC One X for pre-order on sim only which also includes the media link adapter all at £499.95.
I cancelled my amazon order and ordered through P4U. On live chat the guy said that sim only pre-order have only gone up in the last hour so pre-order quick if you want too.

People have said they have got beats headphones but no evidence yet, not that it interests me that much but better getting something for nothing

Bought my Sony play, last year, and Carphonewarehouse had it 5 days before anyone else, today picked up the one x, for my wife again from Carphonewarehouse, hate them or love them they certainly do deliver. I picked the 36£, vodafone tariff, which I think will definitely be the cheapest, compared to anyone else, good job carphone.

I went into my local CPW (in Canterbury, Kent) and they didn't have it in stock. I was told they were getting their demo/dummy model tomorrow and actual stock on Thursday.

Lol, they probably kept for themselves, apparently most stores recieved about 3 units per store, in my harlow branch, they have 2 stores, both had about 6 between them.

I popped into central branch today in hull, they told me they already have their demo unit but not received any stock as of yet, to be fair i dont think the rep really new what he was on about as he didnt even know the release date

I've pre-ordered from CPW with delivery to store and not heard anything yet... will call them tomorrow.

I don't see the point in paying £36 for 600 mins, 3000 texts and 1GB Data.
Three do their one plan
All-you-can-eat data + Tethering
2,000 minutes
5,000 Three-to-Three minutes
5,000 texts
for £38pm with a free phone.
Better value for money if you ask me.

Last time I used Three was just after they launched, I lived in North London and I couldn't get reception anywhere....after a long battle we went out seperate ways...I now live in the sticks and ain't willing to risk it!!!

No stock at any of the stores near me yet. Hope they have a grey one I can reserve on Thursday and pay for on Friday, seems easier than ordering for delivery to store. If not, I'll bite the bullet and pay online.

You can get the same deal from affordablemobile for £31 p/m, that is a saving of £168.
I got the same deal yesterday, but changed to £23 p/m with £112 upfront for 500 mins, 500 txt and unlimited internet without tethering today, as it is much cheaper and I don't really need the tetherting that much.

You were lucky, there was a memo sent out later today to say that the release date is 5th and not to sell them, looks like some ppl didn't get that memo! :screwy: some heads will roll!
I've been off today and heard that the black One X have come in, no one had white One X in, think there is a delay on white one.

I will be seriously pissed if they don't dispatch my white version tomorrow for Thursday delivery - the website still states 'pre-order for Thursday 5th April delivery'
If it's not dispatched, they can give me my money back so I can go & pick it up in a shop - as the next earliest date would be 11th April, which is unacceptable.
11th would be terrible for a pre-order, (a pre-order they took money for over a, week ago) - especially when other suppliers have been shipping & delivering them already.
I feel I will be phoning them a few times in the morning.
... Hopefully with good news.

Funny you should say that buddy, cause when I went to the main branch, and asked if they had it, they said they had, no problem. I left my debit card at home, so went back to pick it, and then decided to go to the branch that was out of town, and when I asked if they had it, they hesitated before saying they had, but it wasn't on system, and had no price, which kinda confirms what you saying, it's only after I suggested, all be going to pick it up then at the other branch, as I had already spoken to them, that all the customer service chaps, went to the back of the shop, and miraculously it was now priced. But the first chap, I had spoken to wasn't the one who completed the deal, instead, it was the doggy looking chap, who done it for me. Let's just hop, the units are retail Units, not test versions, in light of what you said. And now my wife, read about the HTC that toasted in someone's pocket she's now a bit worried, the phone, got a bit warm at times when I was introducing it to the world, imagine it blowing up in the pocket, "I hate the sore idea of loosing one of my b***s.

its 12:17pm - they still don't have stock for the white HTC ONE X.
They don't know when they are coming in, & its has to be dispatched today for the launch day delivery!
I've had my pre-order for weeks, they even took the money over a week ago (which they shouldn't be allowed to do until it enters dispatch process)
I asked about possible refund in which I was told it would take 4 days for them to refund me - which is absolutely pointless as i might aswell wait for white stock by that time.
The only thing they can do is offer to send me the black one instead.
Their website 'still' states pre-order today for Thursday 5th April delivery.
I'm soooo angry, if it's not dispatched today - it will be another week at the earliest til I recieve it!
Biggest phone supplier in the UK & they have no stock still, when O2, 3, Phones4u, dialaphone etc all have stock!

BestBuy?

Has there been any word if the unlocked HTC 10 will be available through BestBuy?
I'm trying to save enough to purchase through HTC but with my wedding in June, that is proving very hard. I have credit through BestBuy, however.

Don't know that answer (still searching myself), but I read that PayPal will 0% finance (1 year?). You get the Uh oo warantee as well. Also not sure if that will be included with Best Buy.

I do have PayPal credit, but that is currently close to maxed out.

There are reports of issues with PayPal credit not offering 12 month financing as it is a pre-order item.
As far as Best Buy getting it - maybe. They got the Exynos S7s bit only after they've been out awhile.

You're right, they'll resume the 12 month PP Credit after the preorder period.
I don't know, I don't think Best Buy will ever well unlocked phones.

A BestBuy rep said they will carry the HTC 10, but the unlocked version may take up to one month after the carrier versions to arrive.

And here we are two months after the (sprint) release date and you STILL can't buy one from Best Buy. The first month site just said not available to ship and not available in store. Then they fixed the site so it just says sold out online and not available in stores. I've checked every day and have yet to see where they had it FOR SALE at all.
Only a gripe because I've been holding out to upgrade for two years and sitting on a $60 BB gift card to get the darn thing.
At this point I'm not sure why they've been wasting the web space displaying an item they apparently have no intention of dispensing

Just seen today, those of us waiting in the UK for the V30, carphone warehouse has claimed exclusivity on the new device!
Coming in at a whopping (UK drew the short straw price) £800! #still cheap than an iPhone X.
Shipping estimated at the 1st of November!

Yeah it's going to ve singe SIM.I got it for £34 a month from Carphone warehouse today.Now waiting for the 1st of November to get my hands on it.Hope it will come with the B&O headphones.Coming from a G6

Always been a Nexus fan, skipped the Pixel as at the time my 6P was enough for me needs, If the Pixel 2 leaks are true I was going to go with the V30, now I've seen the price think ill get a S8 or Oneplus 5

You are forgetting the asking "price" is not THE real "street" price AFTER launch. LG phones drop in price considerably a month or two after launch. Go look on eBay or Amazon and see what a new 32GB LG G6 is going for now?
This one is the European carrier unlocked model, which also qualifies for bootloader unlock:

Sure enough, it's now almost half the cost since beginning of summer.
I'm going to wait for the carrier unlocked version (mid-November) and then I'm going to wait until the carrier unlocked version is listed on LG's official bootloader unlock list (probably end of December).
By then, hey the price will have dropped dramatically, I predict.

even after 2-3 months from 800 pounds to 600 its still fking BS. it's already 600 in the US.... it will be cheaper right now to use a freight forwarder in the US and send it here at 650GPB including shipping and tax @ your front door!!!! better yet, got a mate in the US the shipping will drop from 50GPB to like 20GPB!

Has the dual-SIM version been scrapped?

Pre-ordered mine from Mobiles.co.uk on O2. 3gb data unlimited texts and minutes. £29 per month and £150 up front. Used code vc15off to make that £135 up front.
Coming from a Nexus 6p. Have liked stock android but not impressed with the Pixel 2 XL decision to not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Plus it looks too damned huge.
Short list was;
- Sony XZ Premium - camera distortion issues put me off
- Samsung Note 8 - Size, weight, poor audio output
- Nokia 8 - Lack of cases, screen protectors
Waiting for the 1st November.
