Hi. I just installed the ARD 9.3.2 and it starts and works very well but in calls people cant hear me on the other side (like the microphone is not working) but if i put the call on speaker they hear me, so:
1. in speaker mode other microphone comes in or is the same?
2 How can i fix this?? I already reflashed the rom and same problem.
On stock rom (that i had yesterday) everything was working fine.
Please help me!!!!
Thank u in advance.

it might be jack problem, i had the same years ago on acer device... maybe your phone thinks that auricolars are into the jack and it disconnects the normal one, or it can be software problem, try to wipe, reinstall
Did you use the superwipe script to wipe everything ? And did you flash the correct boot.img file ?

Hi ll,
I really out of ideas here .
I was running Pays 1.9 Bravesoul ROM without any issues for about 4 months on my unbranded Desire(HBOOT 0.75)!
Today I decided to update to Froyo.
I used Rom Manager to upgrade to OpenDesire 3.03 and Radio 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20.
Every thing went well, except that I noticed that the MIC doesn't work at all.
Not when I make or receive a call, Not if I try to Mute/Unmute it, Not if i try to Record sound, or Video or WHATEVER!!! The only way the other side can hear me is trough my BT headset.
So I tried to use the LeeDroid 1.7a ROM but same result. Also tried to use different Radio - 32.42.00.32U_5.09.00.08.
I then Nandroid restore to my 1.9 Pays rom (Wiping Data+Cach+ext), but still doesn't work. I tried different Radios:
32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2
32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
32.26.00.24U_4.04.00.03_2
same thing...
I finally Unrooed my Desire to v1.15.4 Radio 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11 without any luck!
So I'm pretty hopeless Please if someone also have / had this issue, Please share!
Thanks!
sounds to me like it's broken mate
i know it's coincidence that it broke as you changed ROM but if it doesn't work on anything there's no explanation
have you tried a hard reset + clearing caches?
if you have then unroot your phone, put it back to your original RUU for warranty purposes and sent it back for repair
by what do you mean Hard Reset?
I wiped all data, I've changed roms.
Currently It's unrooted...
Is it possible for the Radio update to do this? (all the updates went without a hitch)
Or maybe the OpenDesire ROM (I see that v3.03 is removed, do you know why?) did this?
There is no way it a coincidence. I making phone calls all the time, The update took me about 15 min, after which I tried the Video camera and noticed there was no sound...
Thanks!
well, I noticed that the mic works, but extremely week! I really need to shout in order to hear a whisper... I do this in recording...
I'm starting to believe that maybe it's the mimbrein (Or the piezzo) that is ruined inside the mic...
Is it possible to control the gain in software? (Is there still a chance that the S.W upgrade caused this?)
Hi everyone I want to thank you for looking at my post ahead of time, as this problem has stumped me entirely.
So I have gingerbread-evo-deck-1.3.zip
which is the latest evo-deck rom and I have checked the md5 sums and they match. This rom was working fine until all of a sudden the microphone seems not to work. Voice recognition will not detect my voice and no one can hear me whether I call them or they call me.
I tried unrooting and reverting back to stock and then my microphone was working fine.
Any ideas? The microphone works fine when on the stock rom, it only acts up when I install evo-deck-1.3. I am not using any custom kernel and the only other zip I flash is the gapps w/ voicemail zip and this md5 matches as well.

What is strange is that evo-deck was working fine until just yesterday. I might just warranty exchange my phone. Evo-Deck had the best battery life id ever seen on the evo.
I also noticed that Tiamat bricked my last phone. Maybe I just dont have good luck with AOSP roms.
I just flashed Fresh Evo, and my microphone is still not working. That is REALLY strange as it was working fine. Also, please note that it does work fine unrooted and on the stock rom.

Yeah that is pretty weird I'm outta options just cuz the fact that its never happen to me before sucks Bro sorry
Yeah guess i have to stick to unrooted stock as even rooted stock gives me problems with the microphone. Oh well, for every winner there has to be a loser.
!
I just wanted to update this thread, there was a dead microphone on my phone. It was NOT the rom itself. I apologize if this scared anyone.
Thank you XDA, developers, and everyone else!
For sure glad you got it fixed

Flashed RC1 version of .569 on 2014/02/01and found the handset microphone no longer works. Both wired and Bluetooth headset calling works fine. Xperia diagnostic app records nothing during test. And yes, the noise suppression is turned off. I flashed every stock kernel with no change. Any ideas?

Hey Bro i am having the exact same issue , So to judge the level of issue I have created this thread .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635013
Please give it a look and provide input to see how bad the situation is .
Long story short, I started having this issue 2 days later the flashing of CyanogenMod 13 ROM, almost a month ago, maybe a little more. Searching on Google it appeared as a problem of the Cyano ROM, watching the amount of complains found on the web but, after flashing a stock-based ROM, the problem persisted. So I thought that maybe the earpiece speaker got damaged and orderer a new part on eBay. While waiting for the new part to replace, I decided to try to flash the latest stock firmware, trying to solve any kind of kernel related problems. Of course it didn't work. Finally the new part arrived and, after installing it, with a bit of disappointment on my face I realized it wasn't the earpiece speaker the problem: still no sound in calls.
Now, could the problem be the motherboard itself? The 3.5" jack, which belongs to the same module, works just fine. Any idea?

First of all thank you very much for the answer, mate, unfortunately even by following the steps you listed the problem isn't gone. Any other tip?
I'm having the same prob 2. No sound on either sides of the call. The strange part is the sound returns intermittently

What do you exactly mean? Would you verify if the problem occurs only during calls? You can test the earpiece by downloading a specific app from the Play Store (e. g. Speaker Tester).
I've been playing around with the phone flashing modems, bootloaders, stock ROMs et cetera but nothing seems to solve the issue.

my n7100 is making weird popping noises when i try to play a song, when i am getting a phone call or something else where a sound will be made. Also my headjack does not work anymore, the front facing speaker did i not test so..
what could this problem be? i have tried to reinstall the oem software kernel etc. but that did not help..
underneath i got a youtube video where you can hear the sound.. this is not my video but sound is the same.

wait ,you flashed custom rom and then you rebooted you were back to stock rom?
is that correct?
what recovery you are using. Stock or custom recovery?
There might be a hardware problem with the headphone jack. I use it in my car and there's always problems with how the cable sits in the jack that do not occur with my girlfriend's phone.
