Yes, I have this. I thought it was only when plugged in, but it happens unplugged as well, did it several times today when going back and forth to CWM. I don't recall this happening before root.
Me too

Have you tried to root? Not that it makes a difference here.
It seems like this happens the first shutdown after reboot. I'm going to test that theory when time permits.

This has NOT been an issue for me.

I'm not tried to root my phone, I'm ok with unrooted. I tried to shutdown phone few times without use any app - shutdown was ok. I tried use chrome app after system start and shutdown was ok. But 5 times shutdown after using only xda app restarting my phone. I think bug in xda app.

That didn't make any sense, lol, I think what I meant was, "It seems like this happens on the shutdown after doing anything with adb." But I have no idea, it seems completely random. Today it happened once, and I've rebooted at least 4 times flashing and doing backups etc..
I'm not too worried about it, as I never keep my phone off. The only time it gets me, is if I shutdown to get into cwm. I may set the phone down to do something, I'll get back thinking I can power on and tap Sony but the phones already booted, lol. Also, I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of flashing and wiping soon, so it will all be different anyway.
So I had this issue today. Went to reboot my phone after putting a add block on the device and it would just restart. Kept doing it till I did a hard reset and has been fine since. Kinda odd.

I believe that once you've done your first hard reboot on this phone the UI becomes permanently jumpy/choppy/laggy. Anyone?

No lag here after 2 reboots. One of which was pulling the battery after turning the phone off to get the serial number.

By hard reboot I mean VolUp+Power. I'm not talking about powering off the phone.

that's technically a factory / ROM reset back to default
Exactly my point. It should be stutter free by default, right?

When we get root and I can create a nandroid backup I'll try a factory reset

I have hard reset and factory reset my device at least 6 times without issue really. I had to do it the first time since I tried to port over 26000 texts it didn't seem to like that too much =)

Dude, it's different from Factory Data Reset. It doesn't erase affect your setup. Ok. How about a simple reboot - just by holding power button. Can you do that and tell me what happens?

My routine to make it relatively smooth: Power Off / Power on while holding VolUp+Power and waiting for it to vibrate a couple of times / Turn off display animations / Turn off wallpaper scrolling.

When you hard reboot it actually factory resets the data the reason its lagging cause its reinstalling all the Bloatware Tmobile put on it. So you need at least 5-7 minutes.
Ive already done a hard reset on my phone after receiving it and the reason was i had a issue with music on my sd card. I dont see the lag you speak of. If its persistent then get it replaced. I have no issues as of yet with the phone and its running great. My only slight issue is battery but that is most likely due to bloat.

Have done plenty of normal reboots via the power button (power off then power on) and pulling the battery. Mine is still quite a bit more snappy than the Vibrant it replaced.
Can somebody smash their phone for me and let me know if its damaged after? It seems all phones are damaged after they're smashed.
Seriously op, if you know it messes up the phone, why ask others to do it? Why would anybody do that anyways? Seems pointless.

I've smashed mine several times, one of which was even a sledgehammer dropped from a 3-story building right onto the glass. no damage here, it's actually less damaged than my MT4G was fresh out of the box
Sorry, just had to post the other side of things too lol
Is there a reason that my touch sounds would randomly turn themselves on? It happens randomly throughout the day. Could it be cause from rooting flashing restoring or any of that good stuff?

Its a bug in some of the custom roms. I believe someone said it was caused by having the camera mute on and switching to video mode.

Idk either. It might be a glitch in the latest OTA kind of like what happened with the WiFi bug on the OGEvo with 4.67 and up where it would randomly disconnect. I know JB is coming soon so hopefully something that they do will magically fix it, lol.
yup, the touch sound comes on whenever I reboot the phone. Fortunately I rarely reboot, like maybe twice a week.
I'm on stock rooted LG8
Someone please help me. I have had two lg optimus g by aT&t . It randomly pauses when I wake it and sometimes doesn't turn on the screen out of sleep. Then something it reboots while in my pocket. I have got rid of all apps I can possible get rid of that I downloaded and rest catch memory and it still comes back. I even tried to turn off the fast dormancy that someone suggested and it still randomly does this. Is there anyway or anything I can do because I really love my phone.

I had a weird issue similar to this over the weekend. One minute my phone was fine then the next minute I tried to wake it and the screen wouldnt come on. I even held the power button down (to turn on or off) and nothign was happening. I was like "W....T....F......?!?!" I was pretty nervous as I LOVE this phone. I couldnt think of anything to do and I couldnt plug it into a PC or charger since I was at a bar with some mates. Long story short...after a few attemps to just keep pressing the power button down lol it finally started up from a reboot.
Very weird indeed....everything has been fine since and I am running stock.

I have to hit the power button to turn the screen off and hit it again to get things to work at times I got to reset the phone to get going like some apps my just not load so resetting the phone is the only option and the app works fine any advise.

Are you on stock ? If so then just do as stated above. If you are rooted, we might need more info.
I installed several roms full wipe and still same thing some roms worst then others but over all same thing
Tried using different scheduler/governor?
Also, are you doing anything specific when it locks up? Any app being used?

I can't help you, but I'm just letting you know you're not alone. Mine did that a couple of times when I was on some CM 10.1 nightlies. The phone would just shut off. I thought maybe it was just a SOD on black screen, but one time I caught it flash the Samsung logo, and then shut off. I had to press and hold the power button to turn it back on. Strange indeed. I don't know what caused it, but I would like to know. I use my phone as my alarm, and if it would shut off during the night that would not be good for the morning.
You'd get much more input if you were on a Rom on xda.
This is why I won't use a few roms....jellybam, carbon....at least until there is a dev thread on it....and a couple others.
Just my two cents!

It can be the software or the hardware. My phone keeps rebooting even though I reverted back to stock.
I'm getting the same issue with the random shutdowns. I'm on PAC-man rom. The few times I noticed that it happened was when the screen shutdown while an app was active.
