hi well some people (no names will be mentioned) have been getting annoyed with me via pm recently for always posting answers to peoples questions. even though i am usually helping them.
so i have a few questions.
1. do you think i should stop posting on questions to help the user?
2. do you think i do a good job at helping people with questions?
3. do you think i should just leave this forum?
4. do you think i should just cut down on how many questions i answer?
5. do you think my answers are correct?
UPDATE: heres a poll i made to make it easier - http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/550367
Put them on ignore and tell them to suck it...

thanks btw are you on giffgaff like your signature ses or are you on orange like the image on the left says? i love giffgaff.
If you feel you are helping people and people are showing their appreciation by telling you or pressing the "Thanks" button then conitnue with it, all that should matter is if you feel you are being a productive positive member. And honesty is usually best, granted tact may also have to come into play but people that are not straight honest it can make things more frustrating for the user in question. So in a nutshell if you think are a benefit then keep going.
but thats the point i am not sure. like 90% of the 100% dont even say thanks or press thanks when i help them as a lot of people post a question and then dont even check that thread again.
thanks thouugh

I have seen users at the end of each post say "if you found this post helpful please hit the 'Thanks" button. I do the same thing on eBay after I sell something, telling people to remember to leave feedback. Same concept. Try that and see if that makes a difference. You got nothing to lose.

Just rooted no other changes it will not fail. You will lose root by taking the OTA and at this point rooting the OTA will be the same as flashing the OTA manually, so not really a point in worrying about it. No one knows for sure what date we will get what, but EL29 was leaked days before it OTA'd for example.

I may have misunderstood your response to the OP, but I felt like you were rebuking him a little for not using google search first as opposed to just posting the question. I apologize if I did. It's just a little pet peeve of mine when that happens. After all, it's just the internet and that's the whole purpose of a forum. Thanks for the answers. Well the reason I wonder is because once we get ICS source and ROMs start getting built won't it be easier to flash ICS ROMs instead of having to switch around different kernels/ recoveries to flash and risk of brick will be lower? And I just didnt do a ton of searching because I been busy posting is faster.

A simple youtube search would give you your answer
This guy never searches
Serious check his posts out.
The answer to your question woukd be in the android development forums or the theme forums. Theres plenty of black ststus bar mods everywhere and I mean everywhere. But to find them youre gomna have to use the oh so terribly hard search function. In fact ill do it for you for a fee if you dont want to.

There is no option to change it. The update changed it from grey to black. There is no setting. Yes it is not very dark for black but it is definitely not grey anymore. And yes, it is a searching issue. There are many sites that state this change although some of them have been confusing by stating that it is changeable but the majority of what I read simply state that it was changed. There are already 10 other threads related to the update where this question could have been asked but no, you had to create a new one.
I don't know why I even bother with this guy?

Because you dont READ! That and you start a new thread every single time you have a question. You can still get answers without having your own thread. You see how many posts I have in almost 3 years? That's because I READ EVERYTHING and only start a new thread if I've searched and cannot find an appropriate thread. Again, posting on an even 2 month old thread that has 20 pages it is assumed that you've read all 20 pages, which you probably haven't, and have not been able to find an answer but have tried ALL the suggestions included in the thread. Usually you will find your answer and if you haven't then obviously no one has the answer. But not only do you start numerous threads of your own, you ask the same question in 12 other threads. It's unnecessary congestion and it needs to stop.

You don't specify your model nor your current os, so without any of that information we can't give you a recommendation...beside that, there is just two methods to root your phone and depending on the version, just one.

On 5.1 I used this method. Works solid, but is far away from a single click solution.
Btw: Since your bootloader is locked, you can't have MM with root.
...so after you flash a modified system partition, root will prevent ota's and you can also disable the updater lgdmsclient to make sure. Stay on LP then wait for progress on mm in case useable root comes about but it's not looking good atm. Even on unlocked BL phones most root apps work poorly.
i think low effort method is the best choice out there
google it or you can find it here
you are welcome anytime to ask
