Just gave a restart to your phone and then you will find the option of GSM/ WCDMA in the phone settings.
Also you can select the radio band according to your country, just press *#*#4636#*#* and then hit menu button on your phone and there is an option regarding the selection of radios
Hope it helps you

Another option is to reinstall the rom. When you're installing it, the aroma installer walks you through several choices. The first is language, and they go on from there. One of those choices is whether you want to install cdma (default) or gsm. Choose the latter, and you should have gsm.

If none of the other options work about your only other choice would be to try and root it and get s-off, then you could remove the activation from a rom zip and then flash it.

can you give some information how to do that and what is s-off?
how can i remove the activation from rom zip and flash it?
and last how risky is this procedure?
thanks for responding my question

did u cancel the *228 activation several times in a row? canceling once only will not work. you must cancel it like 3 or 4 times in a row.
i did it in several times not only 3 to 4 times i did it as many as i can but still doesn't bypass the activation.
many user out their have a same problem as mine and *228 cancel the call works for them, but in my case it doesn't :'(

If your on a gingerbread rom ie 2.3.* then this is the only known method to root and get s-off. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306400 S-off turns off the bootloaders security and allows editing of system files and flashing things thru hboot like radios and different versions of hboot.
Dissabling the activation is fairly easy. It just requires a build.prop edit, either in a rom zip before flashing or on the rom you are currently on. This requires you to be rooted and s-off though. If you can get your self rooted come back here and i will tell you exactly how.
There is always some danger when modifying your phone from its factory intended state, however thousands do it every day without issues. Just go slow and read carefully, if you follow instructions you should have no issues.

Try these instructions carefully:
1. On the Welcome screen with the touch the android to begin icon, do the following:
2. Tap the top left corner of the screen then
3. Tap the top right corner of the screen then
4. Tap the bottom right corner of the screen ( just above the grey bar along the bottom with emergency dial and change language in it) then
5. Tap the bottom left corner of the screen ( just above the grey bar along the bottom with emergency dial and change language in it).
6. That’s it, should pop up the home screen shortly, if not retry. Remember not to drag your finger, simple tap top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left.
OR This:
When you see the screen that tells you to call to activate just hit call to activate end call, back activate again, end call and repeat 4 times and then it will bypass activation.
Let us know how it goes. Cheers...

1)when the phone calls to *228 tap contacts icon, right to the "end call"
2)try to add a new contact and enter facebook or other socialnet dialog.
phone asks you to enable wifi, do this and connect your wifi network
3)next hold the search button and (via voice search) search in google "market"
4)tap to the official market page, phone asks you about opening this page, choose market app.login in the google accounts,if you need.
5)search in market "usb debug" app. install it and tap "open' in the market app
6)enable usb debugging and enjoy)
thanks to ramazancik94
this is just accidentally
another way if you didn't downgrade to 2.2
1. call *228 and tap the contact on the right side of end call.
2. add contact and put any information.
3. try to connect it in facebook to prompt the setting window.
4. tap setting.
5. tap search softkey and type application.
6. finally you can enable usb debugging without any problem.
now what should i do cmlusco told me to change the build.prop before flashing so it will bypass the actication screen. but i don't know how to do it, please help me.
ohhh... by the way i already root, s-off and install cwm .

Ok your probably going to hate me but the build.prop edit dosent work as i thought it did. I decided to try it my self before i took the time to write it out, and it does bypass setting up the phone (ie. google setup, location service setup), but not the ota programing as i had thought it did. Sorry
However now that your rooted have you tried flashing another rom and then see if you can use one of the tricks like 4 corners, access epst (##778), or call and hang up? The 4 corners trick, call and hang up, and selecting emergency call and typing ##778# choose edit mode and enter 000000, works on my rom, and on several other roms. Note it may not be ##778 on your rom, it could be ##data#, *#*#program#*#*, *#*#data#*#*, ##prog#, ##program#. I saw this which i have never seen before, turn the phone off then back on to get to the language select screen, press volume up, volume down, back, and search one at a time in quick succession
The only other way i know (and tested) to bypass it would be to rename /system/app/Phone.apk to Phone.apk.bak and then reboot. This will bypass ota programing. However by renaming the Phone.apk you can no lonher access EPST which you would need to enter your local carriers info.
You could also look in to QPST, a windows program that can be used to program a phone.

Are you trying to activate it on a local network? If so you need to enter that carriers info in epst, you need to get that info from them.
If your just trying to use it as a mp3 player etc with no service, just change everything in nam settings to zeros. If it says 0004564 change it to 0000000.
Qpst and cdma workshop are similar type programs, but not the same program. Im not very familiar with cdma workshop and if it would work or not.

Call and data settings after flashing for R800x using different carrier?

First things first. I unlocked my R800x' bootloader today!! :highfive:
Now comes the tricky part!
I'm using R800x in India with a different carrier. I have got 2 questions
1) Now, in case of factory reset, i can get to work my carrier settings by dumping the PRL and NVdump by using CDMA workshop tool. But, when my friend who also have a similar R800x with same carrier, can't do it after settings reset(factory reset no worries). What do in this case?
2)If I flash a new rom and/or a kernel will my call and data settings go away?
Thanks in advance for any help!
actually u can try re-activate the service by dialing *228 1st,
it work in my country,
but it still depends on your carrier..
btw, for the stuff about QPST which u ask in DM, u need to make sure u know all the informatiuon u need about your carrier config to make it work.

I cant say with any certainty about your call settings, carrier settings ,etc as I am on VZ. But I would think just flashing a new kernel would be fine, I dont think that would wipe any carrier settings (if I am wrong can someone correct me)
I use Doomkernel V2 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1368636
Make sure to also download the wifi modules and save those on a place in your sdcard.
To flash the DoomKernel type the following command once you are in fastboot mode (blue light on power button, via pressing the search button while powered off)
fastboot flash boot "whatever name doomkernel is title, I titled mine DKv2-CDMA.zip
So again for reference with mine:
fastboot flash boot DKv2-CDMA.zip (then press enter, and it should start to flash, only takes a couple seconds at most)
Then power on device and when yo usee the blue light on your power button with the DoomKernel screen press the back button and you will be in the recovery, using the on screen arrows I use Recovery version 4. Then scroll down to "Backup/Restore" and select backup using the on screen button on the bottom right, then make a nandroid backup. Once its done making a backup. Press the back button on the screen, bottom left, until you are back on the main menu. Then scroll down to "Install zip from Sdcard". And then scroll through to the DoomKernel wifi modules, and once you see it highlight it and select it to install. This will install the correct modules for DoomKernel so your wifi will work. After all is said and done parhaps you should make a nandroid after you flash wifi modules not before. Anyways once all is done reboot your phone and you will be golden. I use no frills from the market to OC my phone to 1.2ghz on Performance & BFQ. But thats personal preference.
Anyways good luck and if you have more issues and or questions post here.,
Thanks ozzmanj1(earlier name was cool ) for your valuable inputs. Also, will this work with 2.3.2 as my phone is running on that? Also, after overclocking do i need to change voltage levels, as you mentioned in private chat that at 1.4 GHz you mobile back was getting hot. Maybe, it has something do with the processor demanding more current from the battery(I'm not sure). Whats BFQ? Anyways, thanks!!

If you use No Frills CPU you dont have to mess with the voltages, there are advantages to using other CPU overclock apps where you can take over what the voltages are but I have never messed with them, and simply use No Frills as its quick and easy. BFQ tells the phone how to perform, such as running at a constatn speed for quick high perfoirmance or use a different I/O scheduler to keep better battery life.

ozzmanj1, Since my R800x is running on 2.3.2, can you please guide me step-by-step as to how I would start about flashing doom kernel v2 as well as that timescape from UK firmware thread?
Sorry for asking a lot. But, i really don't know where to start!
I would really be happy if i get timescape+mediascape plus overclocking running on my phone. Just dunno where to begin
Anyways, thanks in advance
Flashing new kernel sometimes causing bootloop if u didn't do wipes to system n userdata
Also some kernel bring in different baseband, and changing baseband cause ur phone to lost it network setting, thus u need to re-activating it later..

I'm in the same boat. I managed to inject the IMEI, but can't get to 4G. After I reboot, I start out on LTE and get knocked back to EDGE within five minutes. Also, Samsung KIES does not recognize the firmware (even after I restore to a stock system).
I thought playing with the CSC to ensure that it matches the rest of the software might have an impact, but I get an error when I try the CSC changer software.

I am having this same exact issue! I been looking all over Google and XDA the last week or two without any luck.
Most sources say install APN Backup and Restore app, but it still doesn't work. It gives some other permission error. Then when using /system/mover app to move APN Backup and Restore to system, it fails and gives some other error in turn breaking the app, which then has to be reinstalled to be back in the same situation as before.
Some say install a flashable APN fix, if you are lucky to find one for your carrier. I am using this Sprint S3 flashed to Pageplus, and I can not find a Pageplus or Verizon APN file to flash anywhere. Perhaps you will get lucky and find one Ting? or a custom rom with a Ting variant? I have not seen any of these yet, but not sure if they exist somewhere. If not I think we are screwed? There has to be a way...
I have experienced this on all 5.x and some 4.4.x roms for this device, and I have not found a solution anywhere yet. I highly believe it is related to this: link If anyone is able to shed some light on this issue (or the solution) would be greatly appreciated.

You don't HAVE to have a flashable zip. You can manually place your APNs. system>etc>apn-config.xml

I don't see the system folder or the file you mention (system>etc>apn-config.xml) Saafir.
I have created two APNs needed for Ting, but I need to remove any APNs that may cause any problems. Right now I don't see any APNs, even tho I have created and saved two APNs (which helped bring data to my phone).
So back to my original question, what type of user do I need to activate so I can see the APN settings? Thanks for your time and help.

The settings are only there if you already have apn installed. That setting doesn't allow you to create apn there, it only allows you to choose between installed APNs. If you have none, then it will say unavailable for this user.

I have them listed in system>etc>apn-config.xml, but it still not viewable in the APN section of settings. MMS definitely isnt working and mobile data isnt always working. Im using the 0714 nightly for on my Sprint GS3 that im using with boost.

I thought someone said it wasn't required. I have flashed the universal boost fix r2 that I used with the nightly from about 2 months ago. Doesn't make a. Difference. Even re flashed it. I'm assuming that's e only way that setting xml got there in the first place. Is there another fix that I'm unaware of?

Full wipe, flash rom, gapps and boost apn fix. Boot up fully once, then back to recovery and flash rom and gapps again (no wipe, no apn fix this time).

I have h815 model with damaged wifi chip -there's no wifi, hpotspot and bluetooth on MM. I tried to install 10e firmware. Everything is ok till phone is starting and i have to choose language and type of transmittion. I can choose cellphone data transfer but I can't press 'next' button - it's not active. What should I done?

its like shut off wifi start over hold vol up or down while tapping the greyed out home key or something like that i cant rmeber
its something stupid like that
Simply put a valad SIM card in it and tick the box for cellular phone and then put in Google account details and it will ask if you want to restore from a back up or not then it will ask if you want to put in a pin number all of this you can change later if needed.

Almost OK.
I've got note that I can skip network configuration but after pressing SKIP ANYWAY... I have to choose type of network. I'm still at the same moment.
