Wildchild v3.3 ROM issues - HTC Wildfire S

Alright guys,
I've recently changed from Cyanogenmod 7 to Wildchild v3.3 and am having substantial issues trying to remove it. When booting without being plugged in, the boot animation plays non-stop (not quite a bootloop). When plugged in it boots normally but when unlocked it will not display the home screen and will remain black with the status bar at the top. This is accessible and so are basic functions.
I cannot use the keyboard as it does not display, all apps wont load and force quit and personalisation in the settings menu is borked too.
I understand I've loaded a dodgy ROM so lets steer clear of that. but now I cannot boot to bootloader or recovery mode, even with fast boot turned off. I can however boot the safe mode. If anyone can point me in a direction of how to flash a new ROM remotely or find a back door to recovery mode. That would be just swell
Cheers boys.

I think u need to reflash recovery. Also format the system, data partition manually after u flashed recovery. Wipe data, dalvik, battery stats and install again. Are u s on or s off u, need to post these specifications when posting problem.
The plugin boot thing only happens if u flashed wrong ruu. Anyways first do the above thing and also let us know ur specifications.

Dont panic. You can flash via adb. You are s-on and nothing can go wrong. You should not have entered into the safe mood. Because it by definition would try to restore original htc recovery that is it has already killed the custom recovery. Its no big problem. If u flash recovery it will be ok.
Just install android sdk tool and flash custom recovery. I guess its already installed if u have rooted ur phone yourself. If not wait a little. I gotta search for the post with which i enabled adb. Wait OK? Did U apply any RUU?
Edit: Are U sure that u cant enter into hboot mode means after turning phone off if u press vol down+ power nothing happens???
Edit: See this video and follow the instructions And flash recovery with help from here no.4 read the full post to be safe.

Well do I need a RUU to get cyanogenmod?
Nope.... When removed battery and power and vol+ pressed, It just boots to the boot animation. Ill try flashing another recovery and get back?

Try power and volume down. If u enter in hboot mood tell me the screen details.
For example in my hboot mode there is:
marvel pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-1.08.0000
microp-0451

U dont need to go back to cyanogen mod. You can install wildchild.

I've tried both now and it just boots to safe mode, there are no additional details on start up, only the boot animation. Which runs for AGESSS. Still can only access settings and phone, keyboard doesn't work and cant access apps or home screen.
What should i do now?
Edit: If I just start from scratch with unlocking the bootloader, would that work?

1. Download the attched file. Put it in your memorycard.
2. Press and hold Power with volume down pressed for 5 seconds
3. Wait while it completes loading, it will ask in the screen, press volume up.
4. Remove the PG76IMG.zip from memorycard.
5. Now again Press and hold Power with volume down pressed for 5 seconds and select recovery from the screen (select using vol up & down, select using power.) You should be in the recovery.
If it does, its fixed. U can flash new roms, instructions should be in the rom posts. Look in development section.
Edit: If U see ***LOCKED*** above MARVEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL in your HBOOT screen, means U need to unlock ur bootloader. In that case I'm pretty sure U had applied wrong RUU. Anyways that can also be fixed with some extensive research....

im pretty sure if your s-on it will not allow you to flash the wrong ruu. but sounds like you had a borked recovery, reflashing recovery than your chosen ROM should fix it.

[Q] Stuck at H-boot

I am rooted and and was running mikrunny V1.01 rom. I flashed miui rom 1-12-9 and now phone is stuck at H-Boot. I see the choice for recovery and factory re-set, but when I select the power button for each choice, it loops back to H-boot.
The screen scrolls quickly but I see P32DIAG.zip
Here is what I see on my screen:
VIVO_W XB SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.13.1002
RADIO-1.09.01.1111
EMMC-BOOT
pull the battery out,put the back again, hold the volume and power down and then go to recovery, install your backup,if everything going well, wipe everything, and install miui again from recovery.

Ok. I tried that and it takes me directly to hboot screen. I see recovery as an option, but when I select recovery, boot animation starts then loops back to fast boot. Also, I attached phone to pc with USB cable, but windows cannot recognize my phone.
thanks again for your help...Bill
ok,you need the PG32IMG.zip,download and put the PG32IMG in your rooted card, and then pull the battery and put the battery back and hold the volumen and power down, and follow the instructions, good luck.check this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134451 remember everything is at your own risk.
Get rid of the PG32DIAG.zip or whatever. It well solve all your problems. just connect via ADB and remove that file

That's no random screen. This is the Phone's bootloader menu. You can reach recovery from there, reboot your phone, update it and much else. If you come to the bootloader screen by just turning on your phone, most probably your boot image (kernel) is corrupted. If hboot can not load the boot image properly, it goes to hboot menu.

FASTBOOT is a special connection mode. Via fastboot (an application for windows/linux/mac) you can issue bootloader commands to your phone.
RECOVERY brings you to a recovery OS. Since you probably did not root your phone or unlock bootloader you have a standard recovery, which is not very helpful.
CLEAR STORAGE is a factory reset option. If you already tried this option all your userdata is probably gone by that time. So you need to restore all your contacts, messages etc. yourself.
Okay, how can you revive your phone?
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074445 and choose a proper RUU for your phone.
Then turn on your phone, bring it to fastboot mode.
Execute the RUU tool and follow the instructions. These are official RUUs so no warranty loss.
if that does not help, there's two ways left. send the phone back for warranty, or unlock bootloader and flash a new firmware yourself.
I'll start at the beginning, Yesterday i knocked my phone into the shower, the water wasn't running but the phone got wet, I was playing music on it at the time and the volume went all muffled, i took the back off and there was only a tiny bit of water in there so i dried it and put it back together and used it, all seemed fine except it kept bringing up the screen as if i was holding the power button which brings the menu button. Now it wont turn on unless its not on charge and that is when that menu comes up, I can scroll down the options but can't click on them.
(The menu came up after my battery had died, and i put it on and charged it and that came up when i turned it on)

Stuck at Green HTC logo after installing ILWT Rom

I've rooted and downgraded my phone from 2.3.3 to 2.2 and it boots in no problem at all however when I go into hboot the volume up and keys do not respond therefore it defaults to fastboot and trys to load the 2.2 image.
There is nothing wrong with the volume keys as I can boot into the bootloader and move up and down that list with the volume keys.
Any ideas how to go about solving this so I can try some of the roms on here.
Thanks

Your post conflicts with itself (the bold). hboot and boot loader and spl etc are the same thing. It's more likely that the trackpad is stuck (power + trackpad = straight to fastboot).
Volume Up + Power is download mode.
If you want recovery it's Bootloader -> Select Recovery.
If you're connected to the computer, and in fastboot mode you can reboot into the boot loader with
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and from there can select recovery.

Sorry meant hboot & fastboot under the bootloader. Both bring up 2 different sets of options. I can use the volume buttons on the fastboot screen but not in the hboot screen so I can't chose recovery.
In any case I installed Clockwork Mod and booted into recovery from there and tried to install the ILWT rom and it seem to install fine however when I reboot I'm stuck with the green htc splash where it is stuck. I've had to flash back to 2.2 as its the only option available to me and need the phone working. Will try again this evening. But this is the second time I've flashed that rom and both times the same result.
I'd previously got this ROM installed and had no problems however my board died so just got the phone back from HTC but having much less success this time.
The bootloader screen info at the top says:
Vision PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0005
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
Oct 11 2010,20:10:38
though that will change when I go back to stock however it was exactly the same last time I tried to load this rom so not expecting any different response this evening when I try again.

I'm not sure what version ILWT is, but if it's one of the ICS roms, and you're using clockworkmod, there is a chance that some of your partitions are ext3 types, and you may need ext4 for a number of ICS roms.
(Some even need the newer 26.13.04.19 radio).
It's a gingerbread rom. Here's details.

Any chance you can grab an adb logcat when it boots up? To least see how far it gets. And have you seen the problem with any other GB roms, like G2Lite etc?

*facepalm* Why did you do that? You would have to have only flashed the backup copy of your stock rom to get functional in the mean time rather than locking it back up with an RUU update of sort.

If you're unrooted/locked again, something to keep in mind when unlocking and rooting it again:
When you get to the point of booting into recovery (i.e.: you already rooted your shipped rom), then you can simply perform a backup first before wiping and flashing a new rom.
That way no re-locking/unrooting will be required next time you want to get back to a functional original rom for your phone (and would still technically be rooted, just with the phone's provided rom).
PS: I recommend using 4EXT Recovery (especially if you plan on using ICS roms in the future), you can either use the free app at http://www.4ext.net/ to install it, or the Recovery Control from the Play Store. That'll help make the backups a bit smaller with the tar-mode (tar's the backup so it's compressed, but isn't backward compatible to say clockworkmod).

OK. When I did the clockwork mod I did chose the option to backup before I flashed the new rom so it should be there however I didn't know how to get back into Clockwork Mod recovery in order to restore it. My problem is that when I tried to install ILWT rom I got the green htc splash screen that it was just frozen on and the only way to get rid of it was to pull the battery. When I hold volume down + power I end up at hboot which only allows me to chose the first option which basically finds PC10 something image which is my htc rom so I just installed it because as I say I didn't know how to do anything else.

When you went back to SHIP/S-ON you most likely also put the original stock recovery on there as well, you will not be able to access that back up until you unlock and re-root your phone (i.e.: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Vision ) and then boot back into recovery (button method is Power + Volume down, then volume button to select Recovery and power button to select it) to perform a restore (though I would back up your stock rom once back in recovery).
The backups are generally stored on the SD Card in the /clockworkmod/backup/ folder , typically as a dated folder under.

Ah that's back to the original problem. When I'm boot the volume up / down doesn't work therefore I can't select recovery so it autoselects the first option which loads the PC10somthing.img (which is the htc 2.2 rom which is unrooted and puts s-on) that's on the root of my sd card however the volume up and down is working the fastboot screen when I used the trackpad + power and that's been my problem. I guess if I named a stock rom PC10xsomething then it would autoselect that so I don't end up in constantly cycle of rooting and unrooting. Will see this evening.

There should be no PC10IMG.zip on the SDCard if you're already done flashing what needed flashing. Otherwise you'll keep getting stuck there.
OK - been a bit busy and had to abandon my attempts until today. Probably best thing as I discovered that I could get into clockwork mod recovery from a hung htc green logo screen by pulling the battery and then putting it in again and just hitting the power button without using the volume down button.
From there I had a backup of my rom from before which I used and a ran no problem so just spent time doing a titanium restore. So back up and running again.
I might give ICS a go if the driver issue with the camera ever gets resolved as I still use my camera, usually for document scans, quite regularly.
Thanks for taking the time in trying to get me sorted.
Did you make sure to remove PC10IMG.zip from ur sdcard???

Above where it says FASTBOOT and such, there should be some other identifying information. It will say S-ON or S-OFF. However, if you used AAHK, you should be S-OFF. What happens if you say no to the update and choose RECOVERY? (Use volume keys to move up and down.) Does ClockworkMod start?

After you refuse the update, try to navigate to RECOVERY. If that works, you can then flash your ROM from inside CWM Recovery. It could just be a bad flash. If that still doesn't work, the download is probably bad. Just redownload it and reflash.

If i refuse update, the only option that i can press is press power off for reboot. Thats it, there is no way to press recovery, unless i can go back to the first screen? but there is nothing visual that lets me do that.
I think im going to cry haha

My bad, I forgot that happens. Hey, don't worry. If I can't get it working, there's hopefully someone here who can.
Try moving that zip off the sdcard root. You should be able to do that with adb, which you should have with AAHK. ADB instructions are at the thread in my signature. Or, if you have an sdcard reader, use the to get the zip moved off the sdcard root. Place it in a folder in the sdcard.

I'm being startlingly stupid. Try removing the sdcard altogether and boot into HBOOT. After it boots, replace the sdcard and boot into recovery. Does that work? From there, you should be able to move the zip.

Hi, when i remove the sdcard I can now move the vol buttons up and down and i put the sc card back in before pressing recovery, same thing happens goes to htc startup then browns out then black screen, tried again without putting it in and same thing.... so do you think i just need to remove update.zip?

I think moving update.zip will at least help you figure out whether you have a working recovery. I'm not sure if you're getting into recovery; if you aren't, try booting into recovery before inserting the sdcard, then mounting it in recovery if it doesn't do so automatically.

Just so I'm clear. You're rebooting while holding power+volumedown without sdcard, getting into HBOOT, and selecting RECOVERY. It then goes to the HTC splash screen and fades to black. Is that accurate? You're never getting into recovery?

The only thing I can think of is that you need to flash a recovery using the hack kit. When you ran the hack kit what happened?

I should have asked this first. I just assumed that since he was S-OFF and had gotten into CWM that AAHK ran fine. Sorry about that, OP.

When i used the hack kit. It was fine, i was on a higher software version, so i used the hack kit to downgrade, then used it again, and did everything, set the phone up, installed clockwork mod, then downloaded a rom in the original post, then went to update. seemed to update fine, after the rom installed it said press install success, press power to reboot. then thats it!

Teichopsia's right, then. You need to flash a new custom recovery.

red triangle when update

hi guys!
i'm new at this
after installing the correct right recovery into my htc one 8
when i try to update it starts fine but after few second a red triangle appear and i cant get in my phone.
i use the power button and volume up key together to rebooted and it did
my problem is that i can not update ! any solution ?
thanjks, eli
When you see red triangle, hold volume up & tap power button once.
It will boot to recovery and tell you what the errors are.
Most likely wrong stock recovery or some files are non-stock.
It's best to restore a non-rooted backup then do the update.

You don't have to drain the battery to get to hboot. Simply press and hold both power button & volume up button then the screen turn black (turn off), release both button and immediately press and hold volume down button only.
Get the 4.19.707.2 backup in my thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
then install the 4.19.707.2 stock recovery and do the OTA again.
Anything you don't understand, you can ask in there.

What you did is step 1.
and there are 14 steps explained in post #1.
I don't know how to help you when you don't read / can't follow all the steps.
I tell you the basic thing :
install TWRP
restore TWRP backup
install stock recovery
reboot and do OTA
done

That means the transfer was not correctly done (step 7)
You need to transfer the 4.19.707.2 folder NOT 4.19.707.2_ckpv5 folder
