Weird behavior with Camera - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Lately I've been noticing something weird with my camera app. When I take pictures sometimes, it doesn't save the pictures properly. There's always two files (please look at screenshot). Anyone else faced this issue? Gallery shows a black image. Looking at the file system, there are two files for each pic, one JPG and other with a tmp extension

Are you using a custom rom with a modified camera app?

I am on Rasbean Jelly, but the camera app is the original one and not modified (at least that's what I think so).

Tried 'fix permissions' in CWM recovery?

SD card nearly full? Or FS corrupted maybe, try flashing stock image and maybe even relock and unlock bootloader to make sure the storage gets a nice and juicy reformat, then flash ras again from scratch.

Bump... anyone?

Not sure of a fix or how to add images but the reason you have empty thumbs is because the ROM your using doesn't supply enough images to fill up the directory. The images in your screen shot is not the collection of images found on the stock ROM.
Its calkulin rom but if am not wrong i have those after flashing new theme (Riptide9). I am trying to figure out where images are stored.

I'm not sure but maybe there is a value somewhere that tells the OS how many images should be displayed or something. I'll play around on my end and see what I can come up with
Great, will wait for response. Thanks !

sdio_al wakelock

Hi,
I've been noticing this process waking my phone up a lot. Has anyone else seen it? Any ideas?

I have the same problem, my phone has been showing as being 100% awake with the sdio_al process running for 11 hours or so (how long I had my phone unplugged.)
It has something to do with the sd card, from what I've read. I tried formatting mine and it went away for a while, but it came back. I did notice that my video folder sometimes disappears. Might need a new card.

Just wanted to let you know that I wiped my cache with Darkside's Cache Wipe and it solved the problem, for now at least. So try that out and hopefully it will work for you!

I get this constantly (as in every 60 seconds at times). I like the phone, but not if this continues.
thanks much

Yeah, I'm still stock and I get that error as well. Without getting a logcat as it happens it's difficult to tell. I wouldn't worry about it that much.
Try flashing a newer version of the Google apps

In settings > app manager, find Google Services Framework and clear cache and data.
If that doesn't work boot recovery and wipe dalvik.

where is rom manager backup saved?

can anyone say what directory the recovery image saves to? it says for Android 4.2 its saved in a secure location i.e not in the clockwork mod backup folder. why have they done this? just to get you to shell out on premium so you can download through your browser?
is it possible to locate it through root browser?

Doh! Mine doesn't actually say that but thanks for the tip. (Its been a long day)
In 4.2 its actually /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup

Hmm strange the backup is in both these locations but it is the same file.

That's because the folders are really symlinked (like a folder shortcut in Windows)

Grey blank pictures in some gallery folders

I have a problem with grey empty pictures appearing in random gallery folders. It used to be a few ones every other day. Today it seems like more than 500 empty grey pictures appeared in my viber photo folder. Also, I get blank black pictures in my camera folder that are quite persistent. I delete them, and the next day I open the camera folder and behold, they are back!
Not sure what the problem is. This problem was on 4.2 and the latest 4.3 update.

I know 4.3 is having some kind of sync issues.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
Not sure what syncing. Because I am not syncing any gallery folder with anything. And my viber account is on my phone only. I just woke up today with another 400 grey pictures in the same viber pictures folder.

I'm also having the same issue on my Samsung S2. Keep deleting all the images (varies in number of blank images each time)
