Kernel halted. Super sick started
NOTElease don't post my work anywhere else without my written consent

Check the blog post, bluetooth is fixed.. All you got to do is flash cm9 flash my boot.img and modules and you will get working bluetooth

it should work with cm9, cm10?

I just downloaded the new kernel (version0.5) and checked the system and meta info files. Both folders are empty. I just wanted to verify before I tried to flash this. Is it safe, or did it not download properly? I have tried downloading from a PC and my phone and got the same results.

Doihhh.. That recursive option always gets me. Sorry bout that, New link in OP

Thanks, downloading now.

Downloaded new version 0.6. File size is only 2.7mb and will not open or extract. I have tried using 7zip on my PC and ESFile Manger and AndroZip on my phone. I hate to keep bothering you, but I would really like to try out your new kernel.

Everything work fine for me

I don't know what happened the first couple of download attempts, but i finally got it. Now time to flash the goodness!

Just flashed the 0.6 kernel. It's very smooth running at 1.7.Ran a few benchmarks and I have to say I'm impressed with the improvements over the stock kernel. Haven't had a chance to test the Bluetooth, but I'm sure it'll be a smooth as everything else. Thanks again for sharing.

My wifi isnt working for some reason.. Any help?

Did you flash the zip after the kernel? Mine is working fine, actually using it right now to post this reply.

Will it work like jmz's? By which I mean if we stay in the 4.0 updates it will be OK but as soon as we jump to jellybean we have to reflash?

Did you flash the zip in recovery and then flash the boot img from a computer?

Read flashing directions I test every kernel before release. . .
And the kernel will be the same but the ramdisk will be a little different

i flashed jmz's instead and now its working.

Your loss lol.

My wifi still works just fine. I do have a problem with the wifi at work though. There is an unsecure wifi connection nearby but my work wifi connection uses WPA. My phone keeps trying to connect to the unsecure connection even after I tell it to forget that connection.
And it almost never wants to connect to the secured work wifi connection although it will connect maybe one out of ten times.
This didn't happen until after I rooted and installed CM9. I haven't tried it since updating to SICK kernel though.
Now at home it connects to my WPA connection every time!
I do have to say this is pretty cool. JMz's kernel seemed ok but I had to use a third part app to overclock (I used nofrills). Now with the sick kernel I can just do it from CM9's settings. I'm at 1.7GHZ with no problems right now! I haven't had a chance to test bluetooth yet but I can report that 720 video still crashes.. although 480 video works great!
I can't wait for new CM9 and CM10 updates! I don't know how to use Github so I'm waiting for a new ROM release...

I have a question. I'm on jmz kernel with jmz's v4 rom. I know this works on cm9 however will it work on jmz's rom also I would think so but just wanted to be sure first. Sorry if Noob question.

I can confirm this kernel works for jmzoneV4, you'll need an app to overclock though. This kernel can be overclocked right from the settings on CM9. I think I'm gunna be using CM9 for a while...

Hello Guys!
This is my Custom ROM for the Galaxy Tab!
Its based on the european Firmware JME but i did the following changes:
- System and Framework completely deodexed
- System and Framework completely zipaligned
- Added Root and BusyBox
- LauncherPro as default Launcher
- build.prop Tweaks
- App Widget Picker
- Removed Maps and gMail (u can reinstall from market) more space on /system for the extra Apps
Thanks to this, you have now much more RAM available, and it runs pretty fast!
u can find the update in the attached files section
UPDATES:
1.1 - CAMERA FINALLY FIXED
1.0.1 - fixed missing camera app
1.0 - Release
Coming in further Releases (my plan ) when my bootloader gets unlocked:
- overclocking
- kernel optimisations
- custom theme
- EXT4
- Gingerbread???
apply the update by putting the files in the folder "updateX.X" (X.X stands for the version number and u need to create it) and then run the script via terminal emulator or adb shell (sh /sdcard/update/xxx_update.sh) xxx is replaced by version or update name
Currently known Bugs:
- camera app is missing but u can use camera apps from android market - fixed in newest release
THIS DOESN'T CONTAIN THE SIGNED BOOTLOADERS, just like Rotohammer's releases
it only contains a signed zImage but, as u know, u can revert this
Install with Heimdall or Odin, recommended from a JMx Firmware (JJx and JKx havnt been tested yet but u can try)
I'll update this rom, whenever there are bugs, stability issues and wishes from you!
|Download (Heimdall)|
Great. Downloading now. Will flash tomorrow.
Sounds great. But why add the signed zimage at all. Is there a way to load this without the zimage?
Can you install it with ODIN ?
Do you need a full wipe ?

i dont know exactly, but i think u need the newer kernel for JMx Releases! But u can try to flash only the factoryfs.rfs file inside the 7z archive, but i dont guarantee that it will work!

Just flashed and confirmed, missing camera app. And trying to select the camera in the Gallery app forces closes
great. heimdall is up. i picked the zimage but for what button / option do i select for the .rfs file?
in other words, is this right?
[edit] never-mind. figured it out by following steps on here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878686
problem now is there isnt any arabic support in this rom. may hold back on flashing it.
Sod Odin and Haimdall. Any chance of an update.zip for flashing in recovery, given that we now have a usable, stable recovery (chainfire's).

I ran across this problem with one of my tabs, but not both.
If I accessed CWM using the power and Vol+ key CWM would boot, but fail at flashing.
Go to advanced, reboot recovery
Then try to flash the kernal, then rom.
Im about to post the link to the "package" that has the zimage so people can flash the kernal via heimdall.

wow if you actually get around to releasing a gingerbread, that would be awsome. i know spacemoose is already working on a honeycomb, but im almost sure gingerbread has Netflix support on the GSM roms
i can wait untill you release that, ill help you with finding bugs if you need me, remember, im never scared of flashing, just hit me up. if i could do more than find bugs, i would.

So I applied the .so file from the voodoo kernal thread, and rotation works on this ROM. It's also pairing with my bluetooth keyboard folio, so that's win. I pink puffy heart the browser, too. It's fun.

OK, first off.....NOT MY PORT.
But I did stay at a holiday in last night.
This is a cdma cm7 gingerbread port, in a way its kinda a hybrid build. I myself am working on stripping out all the cm7 stuff, fixing camera, apps, weird touchscreen bugs, etc.
I'm kinda shooting for an aosp-ish build, however, I am waiting on permission from original developer to publish any changes I make.
3g and wifi do work.

Which kernel do you suggest?

Hey there
I recently got a one-month old HTC One X and it came with a crappy custom ROM. I then started asking around and reading tutorials until I was finally able to remove it and install a different one. I tried a couple until I settled with TeamVenom's Viper ROM, which in my opinion is an amazing ROM.
Unfortunately, however, the ROM wasn't very stable, which seems to be a common issue with custom ROMs. For one thing, the battery wasn't very good, but that could be due to the large screen and small 1800 mAh battery, but I am not too sure. The most annoying thing, however, was the constant signal dropping. Every day or two I'd find that the phone has absolutely no signal as though there's no sim card installed. I'd have to reboot in order for it to work, and sometimes it wouldn't and would work on its own later. The last problem which made me just uninstall it was the constant dropping of internet signal. The bars would be full and it would either say H or 3G but it still wouldn't work, the upload arrow would flash but not the download one.
I got fed up and decided to remove everything and install the latest stock version of Ice Cream Sandwich. I have been using it for about four days now and I love how stable it is but it still lacks a lot of features and I feel like JB was much quicker and snappier, and didn't eat up as much memory (I know that's usage dependent, but that's how I felt) lol.
Anyway, I was wondering if reinstalling Viper with a different kernel would actually help make it more stable and eliminate the network problems? I have absolutely no idea how to change/install a kernel so a newbie guide would be awesome.
Thank you so much.
My experience :
Fresh install of viper x and using the Alex-v kernel (stock + s2w function) is rock stable !
Works like a charm and very batt friendly. But that's the problem. 1 phone gets great batt life with faux kernel and another with stock.
I have no problems at all, no reboots, no lag !
Can I put a different kernel on arhd ?

Dependo on wich version, the ics version support all the sense based kernel , the jb none. I'd suggest you stock kernel for stability , bricked for battery and eprj for performance.

Would you please link me to that kernel? I'll try to find a tutorial on how to install a kernel. I just did a fresh installation of Viper ROM, by the way, and am now finishing setting it up and such.

Thank you so much. I cannot find the kernel mentioned above in that thread, though. Any ideas where I can find it?
Never mind, I found it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870416
Now onto how to install it
I did some research and found this:
"if its a flashable zip, flash it from recovery.
if its a boot.img, fastboot it from bootloader
you can find softwares to do it too"
That's all fine and dandy, however, in Alex-V's thread there are two files to download:
boot_one_X_Alex-V_s2w_0.1 which is a bootable image
and
Endeavoru-Alex-V_S2W_Kernel_0.1 which is a RAR file
I don't know how to go about installing it. I am assuming I should install the RAR file using clockword recovery and flash the bootable file using fastboot?
Please help.

Hi this is simple to use and does the job if you are not fully up on using ADB
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/bricked-installer-makes-one-x-kernel-flashing-simple/
Thank you so much. I am going to attempt to download the application and flash the kernel using it.
By the way, should I flash the modules that are in Alex-V's thread or just the kernel?
With kernels, you need to flash the boot.img using fastboot and then ALWAYS flash the modules using CWM or TWRP.
Also. It is recommended that you repack the kernel depending on which ROM you're using.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815607
ALTHOUGH: The alex kernel is stock with swipe 2 unlock... so I don't think it would hurt if you didn't repack.
I guess it is done:

My problem is that it doesn't happen with my device. Makes it hard to figure out the exact cause

More Information:
You DO NOT have to downgrade to the ZV8 radio now to run AOSP based ROMs. To run an AOSP based ROM with the ZVA radio you MUST flash Savoca's or dr87's kernel immediately after you flash the AOSP ROM.
Big thanks to @Savoca @autoprime @garwynn @Shelnutt2 @Dougie2187 for all of their work, links, and infomation with this update.
So we need to flash the radios along with this right?

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned, I know everybody has been asking so many questions but I haven't seen this, will this ROM be okay to flash a custom stock kernel on? I know it says some may mess with the boot.img but does anyone know which ones will be okay to flash? Thanks!

Installed rom, installed radio...All is GOOD!!! Awesome job man....greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work
Do I need to do the aboot downgrade to install this if I'm already running a custom rom?
Thanks for this ... working great ... just flipped the switch in KC today for spark and it kept dropping on me when doing the speed test, but still pretty good. Also, mms is finally working now with hangouts

no you shouldn't since its a stock rooted and booat loader isn't being changed but don't quote me on that
If I'm running the unrooted stock of the ZVA ROM, do I need to flash anything but this one rom? Also do I have to wipe anything?

Thanks youdug!
Also I see LG has yet to remove the Google Shopping app, an app for a service which was shut down before the phone was even released...
Flashed the ROM and it said SuperSU was not installed and asked if it should be, so I hit install SuperSU and got stuck on the LG screen. I was lucky enough to be able to boot into TWRP still
So if I'm not in one of the spark cities but in one of the 4g LTE upgraded cities like in this post:http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-rolls-out-4g-lte-in-more-cities.htm?view_id=7889, will flashing ZVA and this ROM have any added effect?
So is this rom bloat free or are all the Sprint apps still included? I'm asking because I took the ota and then rooted after, but I never made a pure spark backup before I added all my tweaks. If this one still has all the bloat I can just use this as a backup incase KK ever drops, I can ota using this.
