im just using galaxy nexus in New York.
also im using mine with H2O sim card.
my problem is that my phone doesnt provide 3G network.
i already activated my sim card.
i have ApN named Cingular 410 now.
i dont have any idea of why it doesnt provide it.
if any one know about this situation,
then give me a solution.
i can tell you if other informations will be required for figuring out this trouble.

So have you created the proper APN with all of the required fields filled in properly?
And does the SIM work in other phones, and just not the GNex?
They also have an app that should configure the APN for you... https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5oMm8uY29uZmlnMCJd

I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. In order to get LTE am I required to have a LTE sim card? Or the proper APN should work?
Fido doesnt have micro sim lte cards. Only standard size which means I need to cut to fit. Furthermore, I get no where calling them. They can't answer one question I have.
Thanks !

You do need an lte sim card.
Fido have micro/nano LTE sim card. http://www.fido.ca/web/page/portal/Fido/SmartCard
You might also need an lte data plan, and the right APN settings.

I finally did get a regular size LTE card... they are RARE but im using a galaxy note and im pulling about 23-25MB/s but It keeps bouncing between that and 4G so I know its in the baby stages but yeah the LTE stuff is all equipment base. If the LTE settings that auto come up doesnt work just delete it and make your own it ltemobile.apn and it should work. I had to do it with mines.
You need both apn set up and the lte sim card. I think a micro lte sim released with iphone 5 launch so you can get that, otherwise, you can buy a regular sim and cut it to fit the micro sim slot.

I'm pretty sure the iPhone 5 uses a even smaller sim.
Thanks all for the help. Lte isn't here where I currently live but it is where I work. And I can't see changing my account would make a difference but maybe its worth a shot

From fido: Can I use my existing Data add-on for LTE?
Yes, all our existing voice and data plan as well as data add-ons are LTE ready and most of our older data add-on are also LTE ready! This means the only requirements to be able to access LTE are a Fido LTE SIM card, a LTE device and to be within the Fido LTE network.
LTE in Toronto is fully operational, and it works well. They only have standard sizes, like you said and require cut. I'm getting 30-50 mbps down, 10-20 mbps up.

Yeah iphone 5 uses nano sim. Smaller than micro.
I'm also pretty certain that the towers where Rogers has deployed LTE, Fido users will associate to. All Fido phones are connected to Rogers towers, seeing as Rogers owns Fido.

I know I have been on rogers lte since day 1 when it sucked lol but I have a lot of friends and family on Fido that are using the s3 without lte. Unless they just launched it with the iPhone 5 I'm sure they don't have it

Yes They do now. it's been implemented in august. Just go to a fido retailer that has sim cards make sure it says lte, have them cut to fit (some of them have the sim cutter) as they only have standard size and nano. Pop it in Your unlocked sgs3. go in settings>more settings> mobile networks>access point names and select fido lte.
Don't forget to thank me if that was helpful to you.
No lte
Here's the thing: the fido Site says lte is 2100/2600, but the S3 uses 1700/700 for lte. If fido uses Rogers towers, would it not make sense that they use the networks as well?
When I go to Kanata I had lte on my iphone 5, and now when I bomb around there I'm not getting lte on my s3. I have an lte apn set up the way fido and everyone else has said to, but it's just not coming thru...
Can anyone give me any insight?
Just wanted to link to this post I made in the Fido forums for anyone having trouble getting LTE setup!
http://forums.fido.ca/t5/forums/forumtopicpage/board-id/Smartphones/thread-id/7814
I've went through hours of research and to no avail feel as thought I've gotten nowhere.
I bought this phone used, with what looks to be from an AT&T carrier previously (based on start up screen). Did not come with original SIM card. I want to be able to use StraightTalk services with it, and have already bought the SIM and is on its way to my house. I also want the ability to uninstall the factory installed apps that AT&T locked onto the phone.
From what I was informed, getting the calls and texts from StraightTalk onto the phone will be a simple task. Using StraightTalks 3G internet however wont work. That's were the unlocking comes in. Unlocking will also let me uninstall those factory apps as well I hope?
Would greatly appreciate any help I could get on this topic and hope that maybe this will help any future views with the issue.
Thank you!!!
No need to unlock. Your data will work fine as long as you adjust apn. To rid your phone of bloatware however you will be required to root. Not unlock.. The iphones are a little different story, but you don't have that so don't worry about it

Excellent! Will the APN change take place during the StraightTalk transfer when I put in the new SIM card? Manually, Automatically?
Also, rooting could be potentially dangerous based on what I read. Are There any good guides on this?

APN change takes place once the StraightTalk SIM has arived. Details are suppose to be provided within shippment.
What I don't understand is, once I put the AT&T Compatible SIM into my phone and transfer my number over, without unlocking the device this is, will the service be provided over AT&T towers?

No, you will have to go into settings, mobile networks, and search when the new sim card is placed in the phone.
Rooting is not dangerous, installing things on the phone that aren't made for it or installing apps from non trusted sources are dangerous.

As long as it is ATT and not TMO sim it will use ATT towers to deliver service to the phone.
Hey, so my gs3 won't let me add an APN for some reason. Also, it won't let me edit the one that is already entered because it is all grayed out. I am using an AT&T prepaid tablet data plan SIM and am trying to enter the tablet APN for it. Any help would be great. Thanks

Backordered baby!
I been at this for thee days now! so I bought a gnex from a friend that was using it on a plan with at&t. he now uses a prepaid plan with a different phone and sold me this galaxy nexus. now I did have a Motorola defy that I was using for tmobile but it has gon to crap so using a sim adaptor I placed it into this gnex but it wont pic up the tmobile network. when I go to settings phone info status it has my sim card phone number and all that, but it doesn't have network and all the other stuff. :crying:
so does anyone know how I can fix this or give me a walkthrough with using the unlock codes for Samsung galaxy nexus?
AT&T never sold a galaxy nexus. you already have an unlocked device. try doing a factory reset from the settings with your SIM card in it. Are you sure your sim adapter is fitting correctly?

How many different threads are you going to open for the same exact issue? You are breaking multiple forum rules right now.
Have you tried calling TMobile to see if there is anything they need to do on their end? There shouldn't be but you never know

Hello guys.. how are you? I am new on this forum.. I have a problem with my Galaxy s4. When I insert the sim, after that it again demands for the sim. I don't know how to solve this problem. White signals are present near the battery but I am unable to use the service of sms and calls. Any solution related to this problem will be appreciated. Thanks!

The SIM itself could be bad.
Have you tried going to T Mobile and getting a replacement SIM?
Do you know anyone else with a T Mobile phone who could lend you their SIM for 2 minutes to test it? If you get the same results with another SIM the phone is the problem. If you don't, the SIM card itself is the problem.
Are you rooted? What ROM are you running?
If it's the stock unrooted ROM I'd say don't mess with it yourself. Go right to a T Mobile store and tell them to give you a new SIM.
I second that. I would also check to see if the SIM is in backwards. Someone may have just cut the micro SIM wrong as well. Good luck.

I have tried all the other sims, but there is the same error... I think that there is SIm-jacket problem.. It is destroyed as far as I think.. I should go for a change of sim card reader..
