Hello guys.. how are you? I am new on this forum.. I have a problem with my Galaxy s4. When I insert the sim, after that it again demands for the sim. I don't know how to solve this problem. White signals are present near the battery but I am unable to use the service of sms and calls. Any solution related to this problem will be appreciated. Thanks!

The SIM itself could be bad.
Have you tried going to T Mobile and getting a replacement SIM?
Do you know anyone else with a T Mobile phone who could lend you their SIM for 2 minutes to test it? If you get the same results with another SIM the phone is the problem. If you don't, the SIM card itself is the problem.
Are you rooted? What ROM are you running?
If it's the stock unrooted ROM I'd say don't mess with it yourself. Go right to a T Mobile store and tell them to give you a new SIM.
I second that. I would also check to see if the SIM is in backwards. Someone may have just cut the micro SIM wrong as well. Good luck.

I have tried all the other sims, but there is the same error... I think that there is SIm-jacket problem.. It is destroyed as far as I think.. I should go for a change of sim card reader..

I traded a note for a t999 last night, but I was unable to immediately check phone connectivity due to not having a micro sim handy. So today I get a micro sim and call my provider, (simple mobile), and they change my sim number for me.
My card will not register with the network. i get bars that show signal, but phone information shows no service. I have no data even with the corrrect APN. Simple Mobile Tech support says they have registered the SIM but it does not show as connecting.
I went to tmobile and they used one of their sims on the phone, but again, no registration.
The phone is rooted, I can boot it into CWM.
Im thinking that the prior owner messed something up, possibly by changing a radio/modem or something. Im not sure I can even warranty repair it via Samsung because he rooted it.
Does anyone have any suggestions? PLEASE?
Odin back to stock?

Sounds like you have a broken pin in your sim slot. I'd bet money on it. I think there's suppose to be 6 and if 1 breaks this is what happens.

i tried flashing back to stock using Odin, but it makes no difference. flash count shows 2. Does this mean the phone is not covered under samsung warranty?
You can reset the flash counter. I believe the thread is in android development on how to do this.

Hello . I have a big problem with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus ..
Yesterday i was using my phone normal .. as usual and after a cuple of messages and phone calls i put it in my pocket .
i cecked it after a cuple of hours and my sim wasn't working.
i was using stock rom JB4.2.2.
i mention that only one carrier sim card's doesn't work .. if i put another sim from another carrier it work's normaly ..
did anyone had this problem before?
please help me.
sorry for my english/I'm from romania. !
I dont think anyone here can help you. It sounds like an issue with the card itself. Sounds like you should replace it.

If that's the case then I don't know. I'm on a carrier specific phone so I can't switch between multiple carriers. I'm not familiar with that. My understanding on that was that you just put the Sim in and you're good to go. I don't know of you have to activate anything. Maybe it just takes a little bit to actually get the signal. Have you switched them out before without issues?

Sorry for being a noob, but this is my first GSM phone.
Do i have to activate the service first before my phone picks up that i have a sim card in? (Simple Mobile)
Because as of now, my phone keeps saying "no sim card" in the notification bar.
I used this guide to unlock my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34661189&postcount=1
Thanks.
The service has to be activated before you put the sim in. Else it will my never be able to latch on to a network

The only thing comes to my mind regarding this if you guys tried other sims on the same phone if all of them don't work that will be most prolly your sim jack broken or some other issue with antenna other than that nothing comes in my mind.
Try other sims trying changing rom and if not get it checked.
My friend got a phone from T-Mobile s3 few weeks ago and unlocked it to use it here in Canada in mobilicity network. But it has like 0 reception it gets reception for few mins than goes to 0 bars. Is it a radio issue or something else? Any help would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure the unlock was successful? Im not sure how it works in Canada but could it be blacklisted?
While it shows signal does it work for calls and data?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Yes unlock was successful and recognize the network. Gets reception you can make call after few mins loses it and goes to 0 it's not blacklisted as it was purchased outright from the retail store. Right now there is no Sim card on phone and it shows 4 bars.
and for some reason this is the newest s3 i think cause usually its t999v this one say t999l

You might need a new sim card. And the T999V is only sold by the Canadian carriers. The T999L is the updated lte model of the original T999.
After unlocking were you able to use a sim from another carrier and have it work with zero issues? If you only tested it on the network you are reporting problems with that is not confirmation of a successful unlock. Try a sim from another carrier and see if it works.
If it is unlocked then it sounds like an old sim card type issue.

just tried my sim card same issue and we tried with 2 other brand new sim card from ssame provider. i just flashed this March 2014 - 4.3 JellyBean - New!
Note: This is based off of the stock image TMO T999LUVUBNC1
Download :: Download - root66_TMO-L_T999LUVUBNC1.7z through odin thought it might be radio issue but same thing.
her daughter has the same s3 with 4.1.2 and works perfect. can i downgrade through odin to 4.1.2? i think md5 modem might be better.
Unfortunately no. Once you flash 4.3 there is no going back. If its not working with any of the sim cards, try one from another carrier if possible.
Kinda sounds to me like its not unlocked. How did you go about attempting to get it unlocked?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
She will come to pick the phone today I'll ask how did she unlock the phone. But if it wasnt unlocked how does it recognize the Sim? Can you suggest me a modem? But I will ask how she unlock it and let you know. Also when I flash the new 4.3 it didn't erase the call history and also when I reset the phone it doesn't seem like it resets it cause the call history's are still there.

You can only use the 4.3 modems now. When you flash firmware it doesnt erase your data. Not sure why it didnt on a factory reset though, unless its stored on sd.
