[Q] Want to root samsung galaxy s 2.2.1

Hi, i'm a new android user with a sgs 2.2.1
i want to root my phone, anybody have easy step bey step directions???
First, welcome to the forum!
Second, i strongly advise doing some resesarch and read the guides/wiki that you'll find on the forum.
Then do a forum search for 'superoneclick' and 'rom manager', read the threads and if you are still unsure of anything post back here with your queries.
Thanks!! i'll look in to it.
me too. I have a samsung galaxy s with 2.2.1 stock. Any method of rooting that uses the update.zip seems to fail due to signature verification failure. RyanZAs z4root doesnt work either. Ive tried one click root as well.
Does ANYBODY have a working method to root a galaxy s running 2.2.1 ?
PLEASE im desperate here!
Thanks in advance
witblitz
P.S I dont want to flash roms or kernels or anything. I simply want to root the device and install ryanza's OCLF app to fix the lag. I want to keep my apps etc..

thansk chengywsc but doesn't look like that is written for the galaxy
So, were you able to root? (I have the same exact problem)
Replying to myself - I tried SuperOneClick and it worked flawlessly.
Feb 27th 2011 SuperOneClick v1.7 worked
Feb 27th 2011 SuperOneClick v1.7 worked perfectly on my Samsung Vibrant which was just re-rom'd by T-Mobile two days ago to Froyo 2.2. Rooting was disabled and I stumbled on SuperOneClick, tried it and with one click my phone was rooted. Perfect. couldn't be better. I did un-mount my removable sd card as instructed before the click. http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
i rooted my captivate using galaxy one click, not sure if its the same as super one click? and which model of galaxy s do you have with stock 2.2 rom? not captivate is it?

[Q] Official Guideline how to root samsung galaxy note II on android 4.1.1

Hey guys,
I have the new Samsung galaxy note II and I donĀ“t understand how to root this device. I read on different pages to set a counter to zero and so on...can you please tell me a sucessfull way how to root it? I can not find an easy way where people say that it works.
I used this method on page 1:

very easy to follow. My first experience with Odin and rooting a Samsung device and it was super easy.
I didn't worry about resetting flash counter to zero

[Q] Rooting Verizon Note II i605 Kit Kat 4.4.2

I realize this forum is not for the i605 but I did not know where else to put this thread. I am trying to root my Verizon Note II i605 with the new Kit Kat 4.4.2 update. I tried towelroot but it did not work and I have read alot of the other methods do not work. Does anyone know a method that can root this build of the phone?
Or alternatively how can I help to make towelroot or another method a viable rooting method for my phone?
I'm pretty sure you have to use SafeStrap for that. I haven't had to with mine because it's a VRALJB original with no OTA updates. SafeStrap is the workaround though. Most of what you need to know should be in here I think: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207

How to root T-Mobile samsung galaxy s4 on 4.4.4

I once had the epic touch phone and learned how to root it. I bought the new galaxy s4 and didn't want to mess with the phone until one year passed. Can someone, please, guide me on how to root it, the year just pass?
There are quite a few guides on here to do just that if you look through the stickies.
It only matters the method if you don't want to trip knox or don't care if you do.
There is a way of rooting without tripped knox by just downgrading temporarily and running towelroot.

You could not have been looking very hard since this has been around for a long time: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Follow the instructions and you will be rooted and have TWRP.
New update and baseband
Yes i see that there is a root for the sprint s6 g920p but i updated the baseband to the new G920PVPU4CPL3 <---- will this method still work or will i brick my device because i tried to root it with chainfire auto root and it almost bricked it with the files they gave me that said specifically for the device

I used this method myself two days ago with CPL3 and it works fine.
Odin 3.10.7 and this SuperSU: https://download.chainfire.eu/1003/SuperSU/SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip
