You could not have been looking very hard since this has been around for a long time: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Follow the instructions and you will be rooted and have TWRP.
New update and baseband
Yes i see that there is a root for the sprint s6 g920p but i updated the baseband to the new G920PVPU4CPL3 <---- will this method still work or will i brick my device because i tried to root it with chainfire auto root and it almost bricked it with the files they gave me that said specifically for the device

I used this method myself two days ago with CPL3 and it works fine.

I didn't read the entire post there; you could shoot a PM to @CNexus, he created that guide and would be better suited to answer that.
Sorry I wasn't able to help out, good luck with your phone.
I believe that it only worked for a while. At this point I think the only way to root is by a computer especially on 4.3. I've heard some have had a little success with Mobil Odin but not sure all the details on that. Good luck.

I'm about to try towelroot...
I've got a stock s3 sph l710, nd8, android 4.4.2.
I have read many threads on rooting without a computer.
I am down to either towelroot, or possibly poot/ministro.
Not sure about poot.
Anyway, I will try towelroot.
I'll let you know if it works...
success!
I have successfully rooted my galaxy s3, sph l710, kk 4.4.2, nd8.
I used towelroot from the geohot web site.
Not the one from towelroot.org.
I then installed SuperSU by Chainfire, and Busybox (still not sure what that does).
I had heard that the update of SuperSU WRECKS data on sd cards. I have not let it update yet, so far it is ok.
So towelroot worked for me.
Good luck.

As long as you're on stock ND8 towelroot works. If you're on the new NJ2. It will not as Samsung patched the vulnerabilities to do this. Remember that Towel Root can only be used on supported devices with kernels dates before June of 2014
failure...
I had successfully rooted my s3 sph l710.
Then I foolishly allowed the system update you install.
Now I have the newer nj2 thingy and towelroot no longer works on my phone!
HELP!
I do not have a computer and need to figure out how to root this sucker again.
Any newer suggestions?
Thanks.
still looking for root options, no computer
I tried framawith no success.
Towelroot no longer works with nj2 update.
I can not get poot to work on any device.
HELP!!!!!
I do not have admin rights on my house pc, therefore I can not install programs on it. So I can not use it to root my phone.
I need a solution that does not use a pc.
Thanks in advance.

Anything new available?
So i recently been wanting to root my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 again, the first time i did it in TowelRoot and it worked just fine, but i had to turn it in for warranty, i got a new one and I'm wanting to root it, i open TowelRoot and it says "This phone isn't currently supported". What? that doesn't make sense because i did the same process before with the exact same model phone and it worked just fine ( I run 4.4.2 ) as i looked into the problem i found that if you tap the "welcome to the towelroot v3" 3 times, it gives you a code that you can change, i changed it to all the available codes to try and fix it, got nothing. i have no idea why its deciding to not root this phone but it worked just fine with my first Note 3. Please someone help, any help is fine.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.
Stand by
Good luck
Towelroot won't work on kitkat, you need chainfire's autoroot, look in original development.
Pp.
If you flash the NE6 kernel using Odin you can then use Towelroot to root your phone. Then you can flash the NK3 kernel back If you want
for a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (AT&T SM-N915A) Has anyone used ODIN to flash 4.4.4 from Lollipop (which I read doesn't trip knox) and then used Kingroot to get temporary root and then install Safestrap? I didn't really find any custom roms, but when booting from Safestrap, wouldn't root still be available even if you installed the stock Lollipop rom as the SS rom? Or would it be too difficult to remove the recovery if that's present in the stock LP rom so it doesn't mess with SS if you boot from it?

Sorry, no permanent root yet... But the 5.1.1 upgrade is available, just remember to clear the cache before attempting to upgrade.

hey guys,
I am from Vietnam and i just 've bought the SM-N910A (said that from ATT) in Vietnam. I used RootChecker and Phone INFO to get to check my phone.
The result is my phone was ROOTED!!!. I restarted some times but the ROOT is still accessed.
I tried to use Root Explorer to copy/paste from/into system folder, it's ok like other rooted devices.
I'm following xda-note edge and see everyone's saying that NO way to permanent root ATT note egde.
I also dont know what method the seller used to root my edge, but i think it's permanently rooted.
I've NOT try to unlock bootloader neither install recovery. There seem to be no official method for ATT edge. I am afraid bricking my device.
I upload some screen to show you my note. Thanks and need your advice, guys

When you moved data into /system did you remove it before rebooting, or did you leave it in /system and were still able to boot?
If you could enable USB Debugging and open a shell with ADB and type "ps", then post the output, that may be a place to start.
Recently, kingroot has been able to get root on my note, but after 5-10 minutes I get ANRs and the phone crashes, then I have to re flash with Odin to go back to stock. I have logcat logs up to where it crashes as well.
I'm on 5.1.1
Edit
5 minutes after I posted this AT&T tried pushing a security update. Probably to fix this.

I did temp root with KingRoot too. I went and disable the bothering Carrier IQ which was taking all my zerolemon battery. And also I disable most most of the bloatware of at&t.
Let's hope Chainfire or someone co.e with the permanent one.

I rooted my at&t note edge using king root. Then I installed SuperSU and used the option to install binaries in "normal" mode. Then the phone rebooted and in the booting screen i got an icon with an unlocked lock that said "Custom" then the phone booted normally no problem.
I dont know if this information is useful but i thought it was important to share.

I have 5.1.1. After rooting the phone repeatly bacause after 30 seconds of being rooted the phone rebooted. I went into download mode (home + dwVol) the status showed that was official and that it was locked. I don't know if this information is relevant but sharing is important.
So I just bought the GS6 today and I really like it so far but I cant seem to find a way to root it... I havent rooted a phone for over a year and I stupidly updated to 5.1.1 before I was sure I could root the update. I have a Sprint GS6 (G920PVPUBOGA) and Ping pong doesnt work and I cant find any root options that I am sure work with my baseband. I am not super savvy on rooting so I dont know if that matters but I wanted to make sure before I used a root option that would brick my phone.
thanks in advance for your help!

Head on over to our Android Development section. You will need one of those 5.1.1 kernels and Odin 3.10.6. Put the kernel in AP of Odin. There has been comfirmation that Unikernel is working with the OGA update. Note this will trigger your Knox counter and void warranty. Hope this helps.

I can confirm, UniKernel works fine on OGA stock. Ramified also as that's what I am running.
Was chatting with att and was told root is possible
I'm doubtful it'll work but att said it works
On the website mentioned, clearly indicated:
"NOTE: You cannot use this root method if you have AT&T or Verizon branded Galaxy Note5. We are using the T-Mobile Note 5."

For the record root is possible but you have to downgrade & make root changes but only for anyone who did not upgraded beyond binary 4 versions of Nougat. You can find out what binary version you are on by looking at your baseband in About. i.e. basebands beginning in N920AUCS4. Such as N920AUCS4CPK1 through N920AUCS4EQL1
If your baseband is N920AUCS3 or lower you can already root right now!!
As always gaining root is a matter of not taking updates and waiting for the community to find a hole.
Check if you're on a binary 4 firmware
SETTINGS|SYSTEM|About Device
Baseband version
N920AUCS4 <=== If you have a 4 that's binary 4
N920AUCS5 <=== If you have a 5 that's binary 5
I will have a HOWTO up soon, however, this will mean you're stuck on Android 6.01

That is the opposite reaction I got from the Customer Support Technician I talked to at Verzon when I called them to talk about my semi rooted g925v. When they connected they ran their diagnostics and they determined I had malware running and proceed to upload at least a fresh boot image over the air and patch my device in real time. My phone rebooted and all the permissions were reset and apps didn't appear anymore along with all my bookmarks gone. They told me to stop talking about root or they would not talk to me.
