I realize this forum is not for the i605 but I did not know where else to put this thread. I am trying to root my Verizon Note II i605 with the new Kit Kat 4.4.2 update. I tried towelroot but it did not work and I have read alot of the other methods do not work. Does anyone know a method that can root this build of the phone?
Or alternatively how can I help to make towelroot or another method a viable rooting method for my phone?
I'm pretty sure you have to use SafeStrap for that. I haven't had to with mine because it's a VRALJB original with no OTA updates. SafeStrap is the workaround though. Most of what you need to know should be in here I think: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207

I am new to rooting and i have a Galaxy Note 2 n7105 carrier unlocked phone on android v4.4.2. I have been scouring the internet and cant find a tutorial to root thus phone on a mac. Ive found a mac tutorial for only the n7100, not the n7105. I also need to know how to install the latest version of DN3 on it once i have rooted it. In the simplest way possible please, thanks for taking the time to read and answer!
I am planning on buying this phone in the next few days, but had some questions on rooting. I want to be able to root and keep stock ROM, while being able to update my phone with all the current updates from T-Mobile (4.4.4 is the latest I believe for this phone) without losing root. What is the easiest possible way to do that?
Google Chainfire's Autoroot for gs4 kit Kat, his website has all the info you need to root.
I run stock /rooted and debloated minus all the Samsung and Tmobile junk apps.

So i recently been wanting to root my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 again, the first time i did it in TowelRoot and it worked just fine, but i had to turn it in for warranty, i got a new one and I'm wanting to root it, i open TowelRoot and it says "This phone isn't currently supported". What? that doesn't make sense because i did the same process before with the exact same model phone and it worked just fine ( I run 4.4.2 ) as i looked into the problem i found that if you tap the "welcome to the towelroot v3" 3 times, it gives you a code that you can change, i changed it to all the available codes to try and fix it, got nothing. i have no idea why its deciding to not root this phone but it worked just fine with my first Note 3. Please someone help, any help is fine.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

Good luck
Towelroot won't work on kitkat, you need chainfire's autoroot, look in original development.

If you flash the NE6 kernel using Odin you can then use Towelroot to root your phone. Then you can flash the NK3 kernel back If you want
I've moved on to a Nexus 6 as my primary phone but I still use my sgh-i317 Note 2 from time to time. It is currently stock unrooted, on the last Kit Kat that Att pushed out back in July'ish of 2014. I want to root it again, but I heard somewhere that it got Knox security. I'm not worried about tripping the Knox counter but I want to be sure the old pre-Knox root methods will still work right?

So im trying to root my Verizon note 7 with kingoroot and its not working. Can anybody help?
What is your build number? look in about phone
I thought it is not possible to root the Note 7 with kingoroot. The only method that works is OvrDriVE method and will only work if you have the PH1 build. If you have the PHE then there is no possible root and probably will never be one since no one will be developing for this device.
