[Q] [Request]Sprint VVM for Jelly Bean ROM's - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know where I can get a hold of the Sprint VVM APK for Jelly Bean ROM's. Especially for the new [Team D.I.R.T.] [Jelly Bean] UNOFFICIAL codename Android 3.3.1?

The newest Sprint VVM works fine in JellyBean. I have a thread around here that has it. Just search on "Sprint VVM EVO 4G".

Is there any way to get vvm in the call log without using Google voice?

Am I actually running LiquidSmooth v1.4 GSM? (says v1.35)

I flashed to LiquidSmooth v1.4 for GSM from the thread here, but when I check About Phone, it says:
Build Number: Liquid ICS v1.35
Kernel Version:
3.0.8-franco.Kernel-Milestone3
Mod Version:
liquid.maguro.042612.193406
Could be a build.prop error. Check the 1.4 changelog from the thread and see if the new features are evident, might be a place to start.

Have you tried to just re flash and see if that was the problem? You shouldn't lose any data.

Upgrade to jellybomb 4.0, he uses wicked sensations rom as a base now. Much better than version 3.0.

Downgrade from 4.1.1 to 2.3

Hello. How would I downgrade from Android 4.1.1 back to Gingerbread? I believe 2.2 or just Gingerbread in general is what I'm trying to get. With the new ROMs and Android screwing up my phone I cant get full potential with it. I currently have:
Model Number: Inspire 4G
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: 12.39.60
Kernel: JellyTime with AOKP 7
Can anyone explain to me or link me to a video/thread on how to do this correctly? I would normally just re-install Gingerbread over Jelly Bean, but I don't know if I should do that and don't wanna risk bricking my phone.

Well, Download the Gingerbread Rom that you want. Then boot into recovery and wipe all partitions (except sd card) or wipe data factory reset. Then Install Zip from SD Card...which is the Gingerbread Rom...Let it install...Reboot. Done!
Thankyou, but which Gingerbread ROM should I download exactly? I am using the links from the Development List here. I have searched and so far this is the current I will be downloading. Hope im doing the right thing
Edit: I used the Infinity GB and I got an error after wiping my data and applying the update. Any help?

How are You trying to flash it? Check the guide in My signature to make sure that you are not missing anything.
Maybe the .zip is corrupt. Some good Gingerbread Roms are Android Revolution or Virtuous Unity.

Also Sense ICS Roms are fully working and smooth. For example my daily driver...Sabsa Prime.

I would recommend you flash Cyanogenmod 7.2 which is a gingerbread rom.

latest paranoid android and problem

I have been looking in the verizon dev forum and dl'd PA 2.53. Def a upgrade from stock 4.1.1. BUt im curious in a few things. The 2.53 is a toro and there is a 2.54 i tried which is maguro. It ran into an error and wouldnt let it flash. Is it because its not fro a verizon phone or that i am on 4.1.1. Also what is the latest version of PAranoid android. The nexus stated i could download an update of 2.99 but i cant find the zip anywhere and his dl link only goes up to 2.54 which is in maguro. Is 2.53 the latest edition for the ver nexus?
Toro & maguro have different hardware... NEVER EVER try to flash toro on maguro or vice versa. that could brick your phone
even Sprint & Verizon have differences and you shouldn't try to flash a Sprint image (toro plus) on a VZW
PA toro 2.99 is available on Goo.im:
Code:
goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/toro/pa_toro-2.99-19NOV2012-162111.zip
Keep checking their official depository for their latest:

Awesome thanks guys one other question. If I flash 2.99 over 2.53 since I'm on PA now do I still need to wipe. Would rather not lose all my data and settings

You only need to wipe the cache, and maybe dalvik if you're upgrading within the same ROM or OS version
But it's recommended to start fresh when moving to another major update (GB to ICS) or another ROM (CM to AOKP)

Disable OTA for Verizon Galaxy Nexus

I am running Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1 the original OTA version and rooted. I would not like to download the 4.2.2 update as it appears to be plagued with many issues and I am fine with 4.1.1. I have read a few ideas on how to disable the nag screen and one of them was to change the ro.build.fingerprint information. Would anyone happen to have it for the version that Verizon is pushing out right now so I can change it and be done with it?
Appreciate it so much!
Go to /etc/security/otacerts.zip. Rename it otacerts.zip.bak. and reboot.
Toro | Xylon | Diamond
FYI I have zero issues with the OTA 4.2.2 from Verizon
