How to fully wipe phone....? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I can't seem to do it.. when i go into cwm reset... all files stay on the sd card, pics music, and others files.
when i go into settings and reset same thing..
is there a third way to try to do it so it wipes everything?
btw i do not have an ext sd card.. just what ever storage came with the 16 gb s3

Go into cwr recovery and mounts and storage I think and format sdcard

I tried it only has option for external SD card which I don't have. Clicked it and said something along the lines that it failed.

After you Odin, let it boot up and then go into settings, back up and reset, and do a factory data reset. I had to ask the same question, because I just thought Odin would do that.

Hmm mine has option for emmc which should be external card and sdcard which should be internal card. You can also plug it into your pc and right click the drive and format

doing it now.. idk if its stuck or just takes a while. but i downloaded the stock odin uvalh2 started the process and now its at aboot.mbn part been on that for like 10 mins already

here is a pic

From what I can see zooming in you do not have auto reboot checked. Go ahead and check that and ODIN again it will take about 8 to 15 minutes to install everything. I just did that about 2 hours ago. Remember just check auto reboot and leave the other ones unchecked.

Please help!!! Phone keeps restarting

I'm new to this phone stuff and I tried downloading Valhalla v1.3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1203591 from recovery mode and my phone rebooted, and now it keeps restarting over and over. I have access to download and recovery mode only. I don't know any ROM or flash business so please help.
I just realized that i tried to download a galaxy 4g theme on my tmobile galaxy s2
if you did a nand back up and your able to go to the recovery mode flash your back up image in other terms if you backed up your rom do a restore.
if its still booting u have a chance to save it

download any rom
example
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322642
boot into recovery, plug your phone in with your usb cable to your computer, under recovery go to mounts and storage, select mount usb storage, once your compter detects it, drag and drop the rom to the root of your sd, go back disconect the phone, go advance reboot recovery, and now wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik, install zip from sd card and select the rom
hope that little tutorial helped, im half asleep, 3:45 am

My sdcard's memory is too low lol. But got one coming in with 8 gb. So i'll try it with that.
Can you tell me the difference between a brick and boot loop?

A brick does nothing, just lies there ...
Bootloop starts to boot then restarts , hence the loop part ...
When you say your SD card memory is low, you mean your external SD?? Why not delete something to get the rom on it ... Should be able to put it in a PC and remove something , if you are talking about your external ...
IF you can get to download mode, find the Stock ODIN flash for t989, and follow the directions, ODIN does not care how full your SD card is ...
Ahh, ok. Then yeah, I'm in a boot loop . It's only a 120 mb external SD. Even the stock ROM won't fit there lol.

IMHO Odin back to stock is your best option , then you have a clean start ...
Just make sure you ONLY flash ROMs for the t989(or skyrocket if you are brave) ...

This was like 5+ years ago haha.

Bricked, help if possible.

So I had the new evil rom V7 installed already, but I noticed the media server thing eating up a good bit of battery, so I wanted to wipe everything from my phone. I ended up wanting to encrypt everything then wipe the phone so I everything would be gone. I moved my backups off my phone, and my pics and all that as I didn't think stuff would go wrong. Anyway partway through the encryption process it failed, said it had to reset the phone and that that would wipe all user data, and to try to encrypt again, well every everytime I tried to reset(it was the only thing the phone would let me do) it would end up giving me the same message.I wiped data/factory reset in hopes that I could then see install via external sd as an option, cause I couldnt see that. I now can get to clockwork recovery but am unable to install via zip, and it doesnt show my external sd card as an option. In panic of trying anything that could help me, in cmr I wiped the system data, and cache, but yeah I dont know if theres anything that can be done. Any sugguestions?
more info, at boot it just hangs at the wicked logo.

Yes, unless you backup everything before hand. Its easy enough. Just move everything from your SD card to you computer, partition, and move it back.

[Q] Have twrp but no OS on phone. Can't get to needed file on twrp.

I'm stuck. I think the partition got messed up and I can't move anything to my internal memory so twrp can flash. it also won't let me move any files onto my internal memory from my external card. There any way around this so I can install an os to my phone? I need something that can rebuild the correct partitions on my phones memory, I guess.

Your probably gonna have to use odin to flash the stock firmware to the phone, you will lose root and all your internal data though. You should always clear data/factory reset before doing this but since you don't have that option you might just have to flash over everything and hope for the best. Or you could also try flashing a TWRP tar through odin also and hope it fixes your recovery. You could also try flashing a CWM tar in odin if you cant find the twrp tar then from cwm flash twrp.

Sounds like you were doing something else..
Cuz you didn't say exactly what you were doing b4 this all started. Going off of assumption.. what it might be
so since you're saying after you turn on the phone it shuts down right after, have you tired going into download mode so you can re flash whatever Rom you had on there! Or you might just have to go back to a stock image !! To fix your issues.

Cool, let us know how it goes. Try odin flashing twrp first to see if you can save your stuff.
Flash a kernel... Maybe u accidentally wiped it in twrp... That would cause those issues u say ur having

I would try this^^^^^. Have you tried wiping internal storage and formatting data? I wipe cache, delvic cache, data, sytem, internal storage and format data 3 times each and that seems to wok well for me. Of course your going to lose all your data but its a very good wipe method.

Just a suggestion and it can't hurt anything.
Why not just remove the sd card to see if that stops the freezes?
Boot to recovery now that you are running and wipe data/factory reset the device again. ..
Then boot and set up again. ..
Then run the device for 2 days before evaluation again. .
Android OS MUST SETTLE before any real trouble shooting can be done with any accuracy. ..g
