As long as the EL29 (GB) rom has a GB kernel with it. Yes. But the safest way to go is EL29 direct boot kernel and wipe and flash from that recovery.

you answered the question wrong, he was asking if you could flash from the I c s rom to e l 29! the blue cuban rom has a safe recovery so you can flash from that to the el 29 gingerbread rom yes!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2

OK I fail to see how I answered the question wrong. The "brick bug" was from flashing ICS to ICS and ICS to GB. I did say yes he could go to GB from kuban.

you tried to explain to him the process of flashing to ics rom, the thing is he is already on the blue Cuban Rom and was asking if he was safe flashing back to el29. Re read what he asked and what you said, then you will know what i meant.

You don't need the el29 direct boot kernel to flash back to gingerbread anymore. I just flash my nandroid backup when i want to return back. Or just flash your el29 ROM you want. Just wipe data, dalv, and cache.the recovery/kernels the blue Cuban uses is safe to do that now.

No problem, just trying to help. It can be very confusing sometimes.
Just keep in mind the safe recoveries/kernels are from Agat! He uses chris's kernel that is safe from the cap erase emmc

Please feel free to use google or the search engine provided by xda. Now I am only trying to save you from future bashing. Take your time and use the stickys but research before asking. What you can do is Backup your current ROM using this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055950
Then odin one click back to EL29 GB full ROM. Stock or Rooted.
Power off the phone completely. Insert USB JIG and it resets.
Then do what it says in the guide I linked to to restore your JB ROM
After that, you will be able to use a JIG to reset the counter. What happens is the bootloader gets downgraded. Everything from ICS and up is patched. So having a GB bootloader will let you use a JIG.
Why does the flash counter matter? Except to return the phone to sprint or Samsung? And in that case you will want to go to stock anyway.

Honestly every ROM we have has something unique to offer. If you want spen functionality and wifi calling stick with touch wiz. Jedi and tweaked are both great and by far the most popular, but like I said the others are nice too. Ultimately no one can tell you which ROM to run and this thread will get locked by a mod eventually because these always turn into ROM bashing which just discourage development.
The best bet is to make a backup flash a ROM and run it for a couple days then if you want to try something different give that one a shot.
