Hi guys, I am new to the One V forums, I just recently purchased my One V.
I am with Telus and have wanted the phone for a while. Koodo once again had a deal where you pay $25 for your One V and then have $150 on your Koodo tab.
I went to Best Buy in Calgary to try and buy one. A mobile employee was just telling me how the tab works when another one told him he has sold several and to just use an override code. I bought my One V for $175 outright ($183.74 after taxes).
The best part? The Best Buy guy told me because Telus owns Koodo and uses the same hspa network that I should not have to unlock it. I took the sim card out of my desire, put it in the One V and have not looked back since!
I thought I would share my experience in case any other Telus users were on the fence with this phone. Buy a Koodo One V outright, put your Telus sim in and laugh!

Hmmm, I think I remember you off of the Galaxy Ace forums...
But yeah, 4 of my friends actually outright bought the phone, I paid off my tab to get it. Did not look back. Great phone for the price..

Nope, HTC Vogue (cdma touch), desire and Galaxy tab 10.1
Absolutely great price. The part that actually surprised me was my Telus sim working without unlocking. Makes sense but awesome none the less.

Ugh, just went into Koodo and tried to buy the phone outright. They told me no. How did you just manage to buy the phone...
Oh Best Buy... I'll give FS/BB a shot.

The next day I went to a Koodo dias in the mall just for kicks and asked to purchase the One V (outright). They kindly told me no. I laughed as I walked away with my day old One V in my pocket!

Went to Future Shop and was denied as well. As a sister company of Best Buy I wonder why they denied me

Does T-Mobile still offer the G2 as a replacement for a G2 or do they now have a "like model" phone?
They should still have a bunch of refurbished ones still laying around.

I'd shoot myself (and them) if they tried that
I heard they're back on Tmobile.com so they should still have them in stock to replace
Lol I agree. I need to do a warranty replacement myself for one of them since my headphone jack is no longer working.

If it is a warranty replacement then I personally have never had to pay anything including shipping (standard) if it is a claim for assurian then I believe the cost is 130.00.

Yes they certainly do. But if it's still has factory warranty, (which I highly doubt by now) then you can just go through HTC for replacement. I'm not sure but you can try.
Ohh u guys are all talking about replacement by htc?? I thought this was that ~$5 a month insurance plan that tmobile offers if u break ur phone or if it's stolen. Also engadget had an article saying that tmobile was once again selling the g2 so I'm sure they have a bunch of new inventory that they would give as replacements
If you go through tmobile it is a $5 replacement. What I can't figure out, a month ago I was having battery problems, and they gave me the option for a replacement g2, or a mytouch 4g slide.
I took the slide, and I love the phone itself, its way faster and sleeker than the g2, but not being able to s-off and lack of development has me coming back to the g2. Also I'm not a sense fan at all, and due to the lack of devs, they don't have a stable cm7 aosp..
Today, no kidding, my wifes phone took and dump and won't charge either. We called tmobile up, and they weren't offering another phone as a replacement. Just a g2. So she is getting her replacement g2 Tuesday, and I'm going to switch phones with her miss my g2 and can't wait to root the new one and load up some roms and be able to change radios again!!
If you decide to use the $5/mth insurance way, they also charge you an additional 130 on top of having to pay the 5 bux a mth which I think is a rip off.

Yup keyword though is with contract so that's not full price...
I never pay full price I think that's useless especially since I keep a phone for a while it'll be two yrs this fall and I might just get the one s or g4x if the rumor is true but only if the g3 doesn't come. By fall the one series will probably be less than 200 because there's always a sale during the winter holidays

I seriously hope the rumor that the One X will come to tmo with the Tegra 3 chipset is true. Supposedly continuing the G series as the 'G3X' I think. Still though..... *drool*

I have the quad core one x and it seems tough to find someone who will insure it and be able to give me the same model back. I have asked a couple places and they said I would likely get a locked Att One X back. Well, damit! That's not why I bought the unlocked quad core..
Try http://us.protectyourbubble.com they are a British company that just opened up in America. When you get the policy you need to call them, because the phone was not in their database yet. I just signed up with them last week and never have used them before. Their Google rating was excellent. They also cover theft and they will over night a replacements phones.

It's funny, because this is the first company I contacted and they never returned my call. The One X is listed on the UK version of the site, which makes me think that they could somehow get it.
I got it from Squaretrade.com

Square trade is awesome, but does not cover theft and takes 5 days to get reimbursed.

This.
They have 30% off coupons running all the time so two-years of coverage including ADH is about $99. It's also transferable so if you want to sell it via eBay/CL you'll get more for it when selling it with a warranty.

Hey guys I really would like to get an s3 and I found someone willing to trade for my HTC one X and 150$. In addition I would have to unlock it as its on Bell and I use Rogers. You guys think its worth it? Thanks.

That's about right looking at my local craigslist.
Aren't they going for more or less the same $ right now... Don't know why you'd pay him a additional $150, I'd say half that at $75.

Thanks Gunny, I loved seeing you on the One X forums ^^. as for the prices where i'm art the s3 is always over 450 and the one X is starting at 300 so i don't think its too bad.
I sold my one x on the xda marketplace for 350. Easy as pie.
Yea you were very helpful on those forums. Thank you. Also just letting everyone know I got the deal done for $130. Got an S3!!!!!!

i paid 60 bucks plus my One X for a GS3 within an hour of posting my trade on craigslist.....and i felt like I got REALLY lucky.
Now i'm wishing I would have kept my One X.....much better phone besides the poor development
You paid to much. I did the swap with only $75.00 on my part and the S3 was new.

Idk where I am in Ontario Toronto, most people who are trading the one X pay up between 100-150 as the phone sells for like 350 here and the S3 sells for like 450 if your lucky.

You got a pretty good deal, the one x is an awesome phone but people are jumping ship because the dev is more or less taking a nose dive with how locked down the phone is. Last I checked for my my one x there still wasn't root for the newest update, or newest last I checked and that's been out for a month or two.

Almost 2 months and there's no root for the shipping firmware on the one x.

FIST OF ALL this is NOT an offer to anyone. I am NOT trying to use XDA to sell my phone. I just need some advice on pricing. The whole point of this is to upgrade to a different device.
I am trying to sell my t989 to get an HTC One S from swappa but I see that everyone who is trying to sell this phone isn't getting lucky. So i just want your opinion on the pricing. It's rooted and has only been used for 2 months. It also has the original box and charger and no scratches what so ever. It has lived in a box. I was going to ask for 250 but I don't want to post it officially yet. What do you guys think?

You can get around 200 on craigslist I have sold 3 myself before. Ebay you can get 250 or more sometimes from bidders as long as it's in great shape and with clean esn. Not blacklisted by tmobile.

Both ways, one wanted a custom rom and bootanimation for it so I hooked them up with that. But most just sell stock because the regular user don't root and use custom roms.

Hello all,quick heads up.
I just upgraded to the gs4. I must say it's a proper step forward. Screen is so much nicer to use.
I did the upgrade in phones for you. Moved from Orange to EE. I had 10 or so months left on my contact and the shop gave me £170 for my one x! cash! so I only had to pay a nifty to get the new device and pay the old contract off. I had weak wifi and bluetooth issues and cyanogen 10.1.
I thought it was a good deal.

Why is this posted in the One X forum?
Errr......didnt I mention they purchased my one x for a reasonable price....which could be seen as a potential aid for one x owners wanting to sell their one x, therefor one could say this would be of more help to one x owners than anyone else....
Where do you think it should be posted?
It wouldn't be much help to anyone who didn't own a one x.....
