Hello!
Is there any way to use audio output and charge the phone via one single usb Y cable?
i found this original samsung carholder:

sometimes i'm listening music from my phone via aux and i want to improve the aesthetic.

Hi, i connect my DHD to my car stereo via the micro USB port at the DHD's bottom.
I subsequently get a prompt that asked me whether i want to have the USB behave as a charge only, SD card, HTC sync, Internet tether... I choose SD card.
Here is where the problem is. Audio works fine, i am able to get it streamed to my car stereo over USB. But when i try to play video files , the phone reports that the SD card is locked (since the car steroe is accessing the sd card for audio files i believe).
Are there any work around this? I would like to watch video and have the sound from the video audible through my car stereo speakers, all through the micro usb port.
I used to be able to do this using the iphone dock port.
This will never work unless your car stereo has a stereo/mini-stereo Aux in.
Will a combination of an MHL cable, and a mini displayport/HDMI adaptor enable me to use the note with an iMac at work, with audio supported as well?
I've got a pc at home which is fine, but would like to connect up the Note at work.
This mini displayport/HDMI adaptor is said to work with audio, but I'm not sure if phone audio will be supported:

Thanks in advance for the help!!
Phone audio output is not routed to the MHL port. The "Keystrokes" as you dial the number are but not the audio of the call.
When the MHL cable is attached, the internal cameras are also disabled so you cannot use a the HDMI output to display the image seen by either camera and also prevents the use of a large screen for video calls/conferencing.
I daresay this is more a limitation of Gingerbread than the phone itself. It will be interesting to see if there is more flexibility in ICS.
Nope. I've had it working with CyanogenMod 7 on my LG. It's possible in Gingerbread, perhaps it's Samsung's software that's at fault. As for sound, I have no comment, as I haven't tested it.

Hi all,
I am about to buy a (yamaha) AV receiver. On the specs page it mentions USB Input for iPod/iPhone, USB Memory and Portable Audio Player.
Can i use the HTC Desire as a usb audio player???
I mean i want to connect the desire via usb to the AV receiver, to use it as a a player and not as a mounted SD card (usb memory). This way it will be charging while i can change songs, playlists, fwd, rew, etc....
Has anyone done this?
I know i can connect it to aux port (jack->RCA) but it will not be charging.
I assume that same question applies for car stereos with USB (usb ports that support Portable Audio Player and not just usb memory loaded with music files)
ps. i searched for similar threads on xda but could not find one....
No, you can't play audio files over USB like that. Only with the 3.5mm headphone jack. It's also damaging to the battery to charge it between full charges and in short intervals.
I assume that this is a software limitation.
So far i 've used only the official rom and the revolution 3.0.
Is there a chance that some other rom (maybe aosp) supports usb media player?
I noticed on a samsung galaxy s that there are three options for usb connection: usb mass storage, samsung kies(something) and media player.
For the battery issue, lithium batteries are supposed to be less vulnerable to poor usage but why assume short intervals?I want the desire to charge simultaneously so i can leave it playing for a couple of hours.
Is there any way or any app to redirect audio through the usb? Id love to connect my phone to my car deck via USB and have audio redirect through the usb port. Control the music through the device but have audio output through USB to the car deck.
Thanks
i do not think such accessory exist
you can use BT streaming for that purpose, that's what i do
I bought an Usb C hub (not Samsung's) with ethernet, hdmi out, USB 3 ports, card reader, power delivery and headphone Jack. It works well but when I connect it I can't hear sound through the speakers ( I can hear if I connect headphones to the tablet or to the hub).
Does anyone have a solution, or tried a hub without this problem?
I solved it. Go to Developer options/Multimedia and check "Prevent USB audio routing". Now you won't be able to connect headphones to the hub (unless you uncheck that option) but since you can use the tablet 's headphone Jack it's not a problem.
