So I had a Lumia 900 and updated it to 8779 using the att rom via NCS. I could have sworn I had SMS confirmations in the settings. I had that phone replaced because of the vibrate rattle and echo problem. The second phone I just got I also updated via the rom, but I'll I have under the messaging settins is group message. Do anyone on 8779 have the confirmation settings? If so, how did you update? Thinking I should reflash to the original rom and update to 8779 via Zune.

Never saw SMS confirmation on either my AT&T Surround or L900. I think that is an option on the Verizon HTC Trophy, but not sure.

I got that with the Tango version from Microsoft server but not in the ATT's Tango.

Yeah I might roll back and update via cabs. I remember when I got my refurb I just went through both Lumia's to set all the same settings, and remember seeing the new messaging options on both phones. Then a few days later the the 8779 ROM came out and I updated using NCS before att released the OTA update. I don't notice they were missing until yesterday. I don't really need the feature, just noticed they were gone and wondered what others had on their Lumia.

I wonder if they just haven't built it in, when I was out in the stix, I tried to send a text and got the "unable to send this message, would you like to try to send it again?" That was receantly, but I honestly can't tell you if that was pre or post 8779

Yeah, I think we all have that (at least you and I do). But the OP is talking about send confirmation, like: "Your message was sent successfully". If I had the option (on AT&T) I would not use it, but no reason they can't include it.

I deleted all of the snapin software while I was running the beta version to stop the 4-5 SMS messages being sent daily but still received a text message everytime I had to reboot or turn off and on my phone.
It would be from the #: 1121611611
The Message would say:
453 Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 06050415CC15CC60D8
My crude fix was keeping my phone charged to avoid having to restart the phone.
Last night I flashed in the leaked shipping version of WM6. Much to my dismay I was still receiving these SMS messages upon every reboot of my phone.
Anyone got an idea about what's going on?

I just flashed the new leaked rom last night and haven't had any int. messages sent...I even called t-mobile and the last international message that was sent was the 21st...the last time I hard reset my phone with the beta on it. Have you checked to see if it is a program on your phone doing it?
The only text messages I've recieved are ones intended for me...

Check in the /Windows/Startup directory and with Total Commander (not the standard File Explorer) check you have or not anything else than "Voice Command" or "WifiInit".

I think it's more related to some app re-installed or not correctly disabled.
Anyway, to answer your question, myne is unlocked and still waiting for my online "balance" to get updated and check my SMS usage.

Mine isn't -- I applied the update to a non-beta'd Dash with it's shipping ROM.

Mine is sim unlocked. Gonna try out downgrading back to wm5. That was my last resort. You just tipped the scale. I'll reply back with findings.
I'm having the same issue. I'm coming from the WM6 Beta build.
I can't seem to downgrade to previous versions of the Dash or the Excalibur ROMs. I keep getting an Error 260 message.

Ok, I did a quick search on Google for 1121611611 and guess what? That error message (or SMS with an error) is quite common. Some people receive it when they try to send a SMS or reply to a SMS.
Found ref to TMobile, either when somebody goes to TMobile but he's/she's not fully in their database and not recognised as such or when is replying to a TMobile subscriber...
Anyway, as I'm a bit asleep now, I would suggest to do a quick Google on 1121611611 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Really happy about that, started to feel a bit scared but since I am a complete parano, checked 20 times for any strange process or startup lnk before putting my SIM in, just that couldn't get my online statement to show and couldn't see if any unwanted SMS had been sent, altough was sure didn't receive any from "unknown numbers".
The unbranded (pure HTC) should be coming soon, I hope, knowing that the branded is scheduled for 4.5 (4th of May, for the US people) I guess the unbranded can't be scheduled much later than that.

I have a Verizon Touch Pro 2 and I can send but not receive a MMS message I have called tech support and they can figure out the problem and they put a trouble ticket (someone that works at Verizon once told me thats a way of them blowing you off) out for the problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have this problem with my TP2 on Vodafone UK. They apparently did all the data crap but it still does it.
What happens is someone sends me an MMS then over a month later I receive it, but it's expired and can't be downloaded.

I have been to the store and they have know idea what is going on...its ridiculous.
try to send one to yourself & see what happens. I know back in the days when I got my MDA/Wizard I remember reading something about sending before you can receive so everytime i get a new phone, out of habit, i send myself an MMS.
does your store have techs or just sales people.

I have sent myself one many times and still nothing. I had no problems receiving mms with the Storm that I had before....well one problem, the storm was a piece of junk!
I recently gave this old phone to my mom but for some reason after sitting for a year it can no longer send or receive photos. Me and our provider have checked apn setting's several times and cant figure it out. Calls, txt and internet work fine.
Its a 927R rooted and running OsiMood.0122.RUXKJ5. Yes its still running gingerbread. I'm actually wondering if an update could fix it but figured I better check here first.

Hm I know about an issue that receiving is possible only when you had sent first one by yourself. But you said you can't send.. well maybe this is a modem issue so yes an update may fixes that for you.

Updated to official ICS then flashed latest Sedirom. MMS works now but any picture she sends comes up with Unkown Address as the sender. Normal texts shows Mom and her # as it should. So mostly fixed.
Hi guys. I know this is not Note 10 specific but it's great news nonetheless. Someone figured out how to activate RCS messaging and it works. ?
For those who don't know what RCS is, it's basically like iMessage for Android.

configured as well on my ATT Note 10+; however, replies to group messaging arrived as separate (or new) text messages and not part of the group. Fix for me was to disable the option to "Use WiFi data for messaging when available". Anyone else experience similar behavior? Thanks.

I was able to do it on my Samsung-direct unlocked SD Note 10+ on T-Mobile, but when I restarted my phone later it went away and isn't coming back even when replicating the steps. It now says your carrier doesn't support this feature when I go into the Message app settings. I have the Carrier Settings app downloaded from Play Store as well.
Got it connected here. Followed the directions but had some issues with the phone number verification stage. Disabling wifi and trying again helped.
I am not sure if it is actually working though. Every message I send is either a sms or mms, even if I send it back to myself. At least one of my friends it should be going through as a chat message.

You can't send to yourself. Just ask your friend to enable it.
why is all this hype about the RCS? we already have tons of instant messaging apps (most importantly WhatsApp) that surpass the RCS in many ways.

Weird.. I'm on T-Mobile and it's been working for me up to this point.. Now things are being sent as SMS all of a sudden. Still shows as connected though.. Weird..
Never mind.. My buddy I was messaging must be having issues. He's on Sprint but has been able to use RCS without any hacks and using the default Samsung Messaging app .. Weird.
so you never had it before? I had this since the start of the year. My son's Note 9, my wife's and daughter's S10 and my N10+ has this without jumping through those hoops. Just download google messages, it gives an option for RCS and that's it.
All our phones are unlocked Snapdragons so I'm not sure if that matters but you all should just download the google messages app first before doing all that crap for RCS.
I tried it and it worked on my Note 10+ but for some reason my son using his iphone 11 Pro Max couldn't send me any pictures through text and wasn't receiving any i sent.. I switched back to the stock Samsung message app and we could both send and receive txt and pictures?? I'm guessing AT&T has setup as I can send a txt to my buddy using my Note 10+ and I believe he has Galaxy s10 and using the stock messaging app I can see when its delivered, read, and when he types..

I'm starting to think that this issue was somehow associated with my number. Originally I was on T-Mobile and ported my number to to Xfinity Mobile. Since the port, I've been having strange issues with group MMS messages. I feel like at this point I might have to get a new number.

If it's about the former, is your phone rooted? Do you have any battery saving apps? Did you tinker with any ADB commands?
If the SIM/your phone number itself is the culprit, that should be relatively easy to find out. Just put it into the phone of someone else (they can create a guest account) and see if that works.
I know my family (all iphone users) say that sometimes i (and other Android users) miss some of their texts. I blame Apple
I updated my plan last week and have not received group messages. I was on a chat with Verizon today for like 2 hrs because I ordered a new sim but it wouldn't activate so they activated then after about 45 minutes they were able to get my group messaging working. It seemed like they removed group messaging from my service then added it back and everything has been fine since. Good luck it was driving me crazy for the past 5 days
It's likely an issue with the sender's carrier. Once upon a time I absolutely would not receive any mms from any iPhone on at&t on time. They'd come in days late, and out of order. Made group texts a nightmare.
If you can, get your people to switch to Signal. It's like iMessage, but it works cross platform.

I've tried r mobile, Xfinity Mobile, and now I'm o AT&T. Are you able to get more info on what the steps the rep took?

I am not sure but I am still having problems intermittently. I'll get some texts then I may not get a text in between. I am just starting to think the Feb update broke something and hopefully it will be fixed with the march update.
