I'm having usb errors from my laptop and it is being caused by my evo. I can connect it just fine and use it as a disk drive if needed but my windows 7 (64 bit) keeps saying that the usb device is not recognized. I tried disabling and enabling it. It's definitely the phone. Is there a special driver for android I need to install to my laptop? Any other suggestions if not?
Try deleting all the drivers and installing again. That should do the trick. Make sure you have adb drivers installed.
I downloaded the android sdk and sdk manager. Online it says there should be usb drivers but mine doesn't have the drivers. I installed all the packages and there is nothing for usb drivers. Can you or someone send me those drivers or give me a link to where i can get them for the evo? I keep getting usb errors.
Have you tried installing HTC Sync?
No I haven't. I looked it up and it syncs outlook etc. What will that do? I installed the drivers and adb and the computer still gives usb errors. It says the device connected has malfunctioned when it isn't plugged in. It's driving me nuts.
I'm pretty sure that HTC Sync installs USB drivers to help facilitate the various syncing things it does. At worst it won't make any difference, at best it might solve the problem. Can't really see a reason to not try it.
I tried it. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still getting usb errors. Any other suggestions? When I unplug my laptop sometimes i get the blue screen because of a problem with a bugcode usb driver.
I'm having a similar problem but my phone wont even with Vista on my laptop. I have downloaded HTC sync, and Android SDK, did a combo of USB settings in phone and still no luck. All my phone does it charge..how can i get it to disk?

Doesn't matter what version of Windows you're running, go to device mangler, and uninstall ALL of your USB drivers while online. Re-boot, and it should re-install the correct drivers from the internet. My USB drivers were dated 2006, before I did this! And that was in Windows 7!
hey everyone,
first of all this is my first post and im new to this so please bear with me
I just bought a T-Mobile SGH-T889 Samsung Galaxy Note II running on Android 4.1.1 with build # JRO03C.T889UVALJ1
I am having some troubles connecting my phone to my computer via the the included usb cable
whenever I connect try to connect my phone to the computer, it would search for updates to install drivers but it would always say that the driver software was not installed due to no drivers found. from what I understand, they should be Samsung drivers but for some reason, mine says:
Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM X No driver found
Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM X No driver found
I did several searches on the forums but have yet to find a solution or driver for my phone. please help!
I have looked into this thread but the driver provided for the root kit is for Samsung V 1.5.9.0
Thanks!
Welcome to the forum!
I'd say to try uninstalling any Samsung drivers from your pc, then restart it. Go to the Samsung site and download the latest USB drivers. The ones provided in the kit usually work, and I'm not sure the ones on the site are any newer.
Once that is done, if you are still having problems, try a different USB cable.

I had similar issues all I did was Change to another USB port.
Also I did a complete shutdown of the PC & phone not just a reboot.
thanks for the quick replies
I have tried several times or rebooting both the phone and the computer after installing the drivers but to no avail...
I have also tried changing to all the different usb ports on my computer but still no luck
I will try to find another cable in the house to see if that will work.
Will the samsung usb drivers work though? because i have tried those several times, the ones from the root kit as well as the ones from the samsung website but it still doesnt detect it. Are there qualcomm drivers available?
some other information that I forgot to mention earlier, I am running Windows 7 64-bit
sometimes when I connect the phone to the pc, it would load up this driver --> Qualcomm HS-USB Modem 9004 Driver
but then when i disconnect it, it wont detect it again...
a solution im thinking is maybe i should reset the phone to factory default settings? would that help?
For whatever reason, your pc is not recognizing the phone correctly. Can I ask, have you installed drivers for another phone on that pc in the past? What flavor of Windows are you running? Are you up-to-date? Have you tried disabling your firewall temporarily? Finally, try booting up in safe-mode and connecting the phone. That should let you see what it thinks your phone is when no drivers are installed.

I had a Blackberry before but I had already removed all the software and drivers for it before getting the note 2 and I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and they are up to date. I will try disabling my firewall and safe mode once i get home.
I re-read the tool-kit instructions and noticed i missed something. Am I supposed to put the phone into download or recovery mode before connecting the USB to the computer (after installing the USB drivers)?
I will have to try that once i get home as well... but I still dont understand why it shows up as qualcomm drivers instead of Samsung drivers
anyways thanks for the suggestions I will let you know how it turns out.
This problem is likely due to Samsung's USB cable, as noted in other threads.
Change the usb cable before trying anything else....
ok so i got the drivers to install finally...what i did was boot the phone in to download mode then connect the phone to my computer via usb cable and it worked...but for some reason it doesnt detect it when i launch the rootkit it does not detect my serial number
If i restart my phone normally, and then try to detect the phone again on the computer it will not detect it and goes back to saying the qualcomm CDMA technologies MSM is missing drivers again...
So the only way for it to detect the drivers is in download mode but i cant seem to get the rootkit to detect my phones serial number

EDIT: another question...so once i have the drivers installed, am i supposed to reboot the phone back normally (not download mode) for it to detect the serial number?
I posted another thread with problems with odin and my ace 2. I uninstalled all the samsung driver's, I then reinstalled the samsung driver's and i get all these missing bluetooth driver's and 2 android driver's on my device manager. I can assume this is why odin is not working can anyone help please ? I have attached an image of my device manager. Also the samsung ADB interface driver only pops up when my device is plugged into my computer.
Thanks
Sam

I don't know about the bluetooth drivers but indeed Android adb driver should work. So here is what I suggest.
Go to the Samsung Android Phone tab, and uninstall these 2 drivers in there, restart laptop, then go and download the ace 2 drivers from here and see if it works, ah btw let the phone connected during the whole process.
Thanks for the advice i followed your advice, uninstalled both the samsung and ADB then restarted my computer. I then reinstalled the drivers you provided with my device plugged in, while they were installing. I got the bluetooth drivers popup again, Also theres a new thing under my portable devices tab i will post more screenshots this is really boggling me :/
Also this popped up when installing the drivers to do with the bluetooth.....
looks like MTP won't work either eh? Well let's see if it's the phone or the pc
Firstly follow those instuctions to do some troubleshooting.
1) Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=19153
3) Download the file
6) Run it
7) Follow the instuctions (NextNextNextNext)
That's it, now the MTP devices should work correctly.*
(ALSO Try de-selecting usb debugging)
If this won't work then I guess it's a problem with the phone.I read somewhere in a thread that some dude with the same problem on a samsung phone did factory wipe, wiped dalvik, and installed another ROM, then the usb drivers problem got fixed.
Good luck.
EDIT: Also check this site here it seems to have solution regarding the bluetooth peripheral thing.
none of those links work It has also stopped coming up as mtp it now just says GT-I8160. Also i noticed when i start up my computer it fails to start until i unplug it and plug it in again (attached pictures)
Also there is no android adb anymore its just the samsung one.... is this right? i appreciate your help
I am also using a 64bit version of windows 7 if that makes any difference.
Have you tried connecting the phone to some other pc just to know which one is the problem?
I've ran outta ideas...well the problem seems to be with the device itself and if not then it's probably the usb port, maybe insert to another port or try your luck on google, search for something like "windows failed to recognize android phone"or smth similar. I'll do some more research and try to help y'out tomorrow

I tried disabling usb debugging also i tried the drivers on my netbook. I am having really strange problems on there with odin i plug it in and odin wont pick it up and as soon as i unplug it it says added then removed very weird :/ thats only when the phone is in download mode....
Im thinking its either the cable or the phone. Im not sure though..
Remove all Samsung related drivers.
Restart pc
Use cccleaner to clean the registry
Reboot pc
Use the drivers that i have provided in the s advance forum in my all in one guide. Install the drivers without connecting the phone.
After the drivers are installed, turn off internet connection and then connect the phone.

Thanks for the new idea shaaan I have succesfully followed steps 1 and 2. But I am struggling to find your all in one guide would one be kind to link me ? I did a forum search with no luck. Also I am using a galaxy GT-I8160 would using the s drivers matter? and thanks for the help mojito0 I would like to think it isn't the cable or phone, as I have literaly owned them for 8 days (just over a week). I can always see if i can borrow another cable of my friend today though
edit: I found your all in one guide I am now going to attempt what you said
After removing all the samsung related drivers and restarting I get all these devices come up? The device is not plugged in either.
I dont know if this helps atall, but I finished doing what you said ignoring the drivers.... Then went to flash using odin, Put the phone into download mode and noticed that after a couple of seconds of being stuck on setup connection. It then says the GT-I8160 cannot start, Also the mtp and adb android driver is still displaying that yellow explanation mark :/ I am a newbie to android here and dont know the difference betwene the samsung adb and the android one as listed do they both need to be working?
Remove all the displayed devices from other devices, also remove that Samsung adb thingy and also there will be one Samsung related device in the usb section! Remove them all and then follow my steps.
As for your driver query, the drivers are universal for a specific range of devices. The driver version 2.0+ should work for all devices which were released in 2012

In searching for a better way to share files between my phone, my tablet, and my computer, I downloaded and installed Kies, only to find out it wasn't what I wanted and uninstalled it again. Unfortunately, now I can't get my computer to recognize my phone when I connect the USB cable. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the samsung drivers, but it still won't recognize it, so now I'm at a loss for what went wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
PS; I'm using Win 7 x64
try unistalling and then reinstalling the samsung usb drivers

Hey guys,
I'm facing a problem: my W10 PC won't install the phone's usb drivers at all. It stay with the yellow sign and can't find the drivers anywhere - not even through Win Update.
I searched for them everywhere I could and without any positive results.
Do you know or have the USB drivers for this phone so I can install them manually?
On my laptop, there are no problems and I tried exporting all the drivers installed on the laptop and load them onto the PC but didn't find any driver so the PC could extract them. I can't access my internals on my PC cause of this.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Solved: Apparently, Windows 10 Home Ed. is not capable of installing any kind of USB drivers (MPT, file transfer, fastboot, USB-debugging - nothing worked) for the device but re-installing with the Windows 10 Pro version, the phone got detected instantly and fully without any problems. Razer CC wasn't helpful at all, this time.
