I flashed in JB AOKP was working fine all of last night. I also entered my SIM Pin or unlock code. The first time I put in an 8 digit unlock code I have. Second time it prompted me I skipped it. I'm pretty sure it was the security pin and not the network unlock. I don't have any other phone's micro SIM I can insert into my phone and a local phone store's T Mobile SIM produced no different of a result except for replacing AT&T with T-Mobile (I have not however put my microSIM into another phone...because I don't have another micro sim phone). Reboot phone this morning and it's no longer working. Tried to enable 2g. Nothing. Tried a battery pull with the phone on, pulling the SIM (same message with SIM pulled out),
Wifi works
This sucks big time ;(
Note: I am pretty sure I did not network lock the phone or anything because the SIM prompt that came up when I flashed JB did not ask me for my unlock or network code (I would have known). The first time I entered that code was 'just in case it's asking me to unlock" but why would it ask me a second time then? So I doubt it was prompting me for a network unlock code. The prompt from youtube videos was different too.
Also APN is empty, but I think that's becasue I'm not connected to any network
Pressing Available networks brings up AT&T AT&T AT&T T-Mobile T-Mobile "311660" pressing any of them you get a quick window connect "too fast" goes back to/stays in available networks screen and says "Can't connect to this network right now. Try again later."
So I added the AOKP and Corresponding kernel yesterday and I mean it was working fine with 4g... apparently this thread says that you need to flash a new radio in some cases when you change kernels?

Pardon my newbness if I'm way off base, but lost IMEI? sounds like the same symptoms I was getting a couple days ago when I flashed CM10.

...what are you talking about. My IMEI isn't mentioned once in that post. In fact now that you mention it, since people's IMEI changed...nothing like that my phone still has its IMEI
I also did not get a "phone frozen" from entering the wrong code too many times...so I doubt its locked like that. There was a random reboot that I WOKE UP to, but nothing weird...it rebooted randomly but worked finely after that

I was proposing the theory that you may have lost your IMEI, since the symptoms you report were very similar to what I was experiencing when I lost mine, however since you still have yours, must be something else, eh?

Well, mine was definitely due to a lost imei that happened sometime when flashing.
I did get the network unlock warning thingy twice, and then had no cellular connectivity, which is why I mentioned the lost imei. I restored my nandroid back to stock, then used the method here with a little driver tapdancing to reinject my imei, and that solved my issues, but sounds like you have something else going on.

If I flash back to stock and no longer have the stock kernel, what is the steps for flashing back then?
1. flash stock kernel
2 fix partitions
3. factory rest/cache/davlik
reboot into oden and flash new image?
Long story short, Don't cut your own microsd..the sim pins on this phone are VERY sensitive and hard to fix/see. Don't bend em.
I am having the same problems right now, I keep on getting " NO SERVICE" - SELECTED NETWORK UNAVAILABLE" Error.
Rebooting doesnt help, flashing modem through CWM doesnt help. I know for a fact that the simcard it good because other apps that I install can read the sim with no problem, and my WIFI is working like a charm.
Someone got a solution for this? This is already like 4 days ongoing, please any help will be appreciated !!
Im having the same no service selected network issue. I can search and find att and the mobile but when I try to have it connect to att that's the error I get. I have an att SIM card in the phone. Sph l720 SIM unlocked, it didn't ask me for an unlock code or anything like that but I also don't get the invalid SIM card error. I've added the main apn from the att website but that doesn't help and the phone is current set to gsm/umts. If anyone has a fix please let me know, thank you.

I unlocked my G2 before leaving on trip to Europe and after the unlock process has finished phone now can't connect to gsm network at all. I used 3 different sim cards including t-mobile original sim card nothing helps. Also did hard reset and reflashed with OOB ROM from dev thread, nothing helps. Anybody has the same issue? Any other suggestions?

Dear friend, my issue exactly. No connection after unlocking. I have tried virtualy anything (different sims, firmware reinstallation, reboots, reset ) nothing happens. As far as i can tell after unlocking the phone cannot read properly no sim at all. It behaves asz a phone whith no sim in it. Try open your phone with no sim and try search for networks. You will get the same error message. I have contacted HTC and awaiting an answer. Where did you found the unlock code?
After you entered the unlock code, you got a pop up message saying something to the effect of "Unlock code successfully entered, rebooting device." Did the device instantly reboot for you or did it take a while? I'm curious as my device just sat there for five minutes before rebooting.
Edit: I should note that I cannot test my device with my foreign SIMs right now, but my T-Mobile connection is working fine post-unlock. Also, it might help to read through this thread. More anecdotal experiences with G2 on other networks in there.
Doesn't work period, the T-Mobile sim card doesn't work either anymore.

I didn't mention because I assumed that as long as it works (meaning the popup said the unlock was successfully entered) then it doesn't matter what the source was. I got my code from T-Mobile, who in turn requests the codes from HTC.
I unlocked by inserting a friend's AT&T sim. Strangely, the device didn't give me the unlock dialog at all when I inserted a Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) sim. It couldn't register to any networks when my CHT sim was inserted. However, I did not have a "no sim inserted" error in my notification bar, so it's not the same as your situation, I think.
I have tried every solution i can think with no results. I just hope it isn't a hardware fault a it is very difficult for me to return the phone to T-mobile and get a new one

Its the same. I dont get a no sim error. Sim is found. But network search is dead
Try looking up the APN settings for your network and enter them under Wireless and Networks under settings. I had a similar problem with AT&T when I first unlocked. I had signal but no data.
We get no GSM signal whatsoever. Just shows the "x" next to the cellphone signal. Also getting to *#*#4636#*#* menu shows that both CID and LOC fields are unknown. I also tried to do the sim lock from the recovery menu (press volume down with power key) and it gave me errors as some files are missing, so I'm guessing the unlock did happen but it didn't write something somewhere.

Excactly my friend. It cannot read properly the sim properties so it cannot find MCC/MNC and CID of our networks. The error you get in SIMLOCK IS
MCCMNC FILE MISSING
CID FILE MISSING
And another thing i noticed. In a properly working android phone when you create a new apn the MCC and MNC fields are automaticaly filled. But in our case they are blank...

Your problem isn't similar at all. These guys can't get signal or data. Network scan turns up nothing.

To be exact network search returns an ERROR.
Yeah my bad, didn't realize their problem was so severe. :/
I have a similar problem except mine is temporary. When I unlock the phone I have no connection. Shows an X on the tray. Try enabling airplane mode and disabling it and still the same. I have to reboot the phone in order for it to connect again. It's only happened twice so far, but was annoying. Hope it doesn't get worse.
I am still using the old SIM card from my Cliq, which was in my Sidekick before that. If it happens one more time I'm going to install the new SIM that came with the phone and see if that helps.
Edit:
Nevermind... My phone is not unlocked. I read the post wrong.
Unfortunately no solution yet. I have read here that an OTA is rolling out. Let's hope it could something when received
How you plan on getting OTA if our phones are not even connected to the cellnetwork??? Just leave it on with wifi???
wifi or someone will post a download link.
So far pleople with the same problem as us are increasing.

Having the same issue
I noticed in addition that there is a difference i the SIM-lock is enabled or not.
When it is not enabled the "SIM error" icon does not appear and the radio symbol is an "x"
When it is enabled I am asked for the PIN at boot and after I enter it the "SIM error" icon is also shown.
So at least the phone seams to be still reading the SIM but that's about it.
Ok, so I updated my s3 to 4.1.1 but after a week of using the update, I still hadn't seen any sign of the expandable notification options. So I decided to re-install the update by flashing via Odin, which I did. After the flash, the expandable notifications still weren't available, so I instead flashed the stock firmware, hoping to update from stock and see if the problem was fixed. Unfortunately when I rebooted after the stock install, my phone would no longer connect to data, or even to the network period. I can't text, make calls, or connect to data. It shows full bars but when I try to do anything it tells me the network is unavailable.
I tried a lot of options for fixing it:
-I checked all my network settings. Data was on, I switched into and out of airplane mode, no luck.
-I tried to set my network operator by manually selecting tmobile. No luck.
-I tried re-entering T-Mobile's APN settings. No luck.
-I tried to restore from a backup I made of my 4.1.1 when it was first updated. No luck.
-I tried flashing multiple versions of stock firmware, as well as cm10. No luck.
-I checked my IMEI, it's correct.
-I flashed a few different modems. No luck.
I've run out of ideas and I can't find any other ideas in the forums. The closest I have come to getting a fix was during one instance when I was flashing stock again, I cleared my cache, dalvik cache, and did a factory reset as well as formatting my internal storage. When it did the first boot it had service for about thirty seconds. I was able to receive a few waiting text messages, and I had edge data for the remainder of the 30 second or so period. Then I lost data again. Every time I boot a notification ticks on my status bar that says "Restricted Access Changed" and before I can pull down and tap it, the notification is gone. When I try to set a Network Operator, it says something along the lines of "Unable to connect, not registered on the network." I'm stumped.
Has anybody else had this problem, and does anybody know how to fix it?
Just a guess, but perhaps T-Mobile has blocked your IMEI? Did you buy the phone off of someone or straight from T-Mobile?
Did you ever report it lost or stolen?
Only thing I can think of given your scenario.

I bought it through Costco as an authorized upgrade offer by T-Mobile. I can't imagine any reason why my IMEI would be blocked. I went to the t-mobile store yesterday and they told me that it should be working and that I should take it back to Costco and see if they can do anything for me in terms of replacement.
Problem Solved!
Apparently it was because when I got my phone they didn't give me the upgraded sim, they just cut my current one to fit the microsim slot. Go figure. This could have been solved by tmobile last night if the guy hadn't refused to help me just because I had rom manager installed on my phone. Just because I have a root program installed on my phone doesn't mean my phone got messed up playing around with root. Anyways, i updated my sim card through tmobile's phone service and I'm a happy camper now!
Got this phone from a friend and immediately flashed the last CM 14 Rom before they shut down. Flashed the experimental Lineage Rom then started the Nightlies. It's on the most recent Nightly now. The issue I'm having involves the SIM card, and now bluetooth (though that only happened once). I can't get it to connect to the network. It was an AT&T phone originally, and yesterday I finally got it unlocked to use on T-Mobile. The card is registering, I see the triangle in the status bar, but none of the solutions I've found can make it connect (the card works in another phone). When trying to connect to the network it eventually just times out. I can't even add APN settings as they won't save. This morning it forgot previous bluetooth connections as soon as I clicked on them. I'm thinking I need to flash an older radio.img but I can't find anything that isn't almost 3 years old. In addition, I can't keep the SIM unlocked. It asks for the SIM unlock PIN every time the phone boots, and the Security setting option is grayed out so I can't even turn it off. Any ideas? Is this all related to being S-on? Based on what I've read, I was under the impression that didn't matter anymore.
So a friend has an unlocked PCS 530 which was rooted and equipped with TWRP. She let a family member borrow it, warned him not to reset it through the Backup & Reset menu just in case something weird would happen. So, of cours,e the first thing that person did was factory reset it through the Backup & Reset menu and, of course, something weird happened. The phone had been unlocked via the MetroPCS Device Unlock app, but it seemed to re-lock after the reset and attempting to run the program again just resulted in a force-close crash. Worse still, the phone now gets no signal and gives only a "Limited Service" error.
I messed with several things to try to coax it back to normalcy and got nowhere, so tonight I decided to just find the proper RUU and go from there. (For completeness' sake, specifically it was RUU_A16_UL_M60_DESIRE_SENSE70GP_TMUS_MetroPCS_US_1.36.1550.14.exe, which seemed to be the same version firmware as what the phone had already been running.) The process completes without error... but not really, because it still doesn't work. It did *something," because the Device Unlock app now finishes, (seemingly) and if you have a Metro or TMo SIM in, you can even run a Search Networks scan that seems correct and says it connected successfully... but the signal level remains zilch.
In fact, it seems like in addition to the general connection problem, that the device unlock isn't *really* working for some reason. No error comes up when an off-network SIM is inserted, but I noticed that for one, the APNs do not generate the way I expect them to on a properly unlocked device - not even T-Mobile will autofill, just Metro. This *could* be normal on this device, but I don't think it is... and regarding the "Search Networks" scan, there's a reason I said "if you have a Metro or TMo SIM" earlier. The option is greyed out entirely when any other SIM is inserted. Hmm.
So what the hell is this, any ideas?
Hi
So before anyone tells me to just insert a SIM and be done with it, please read this first. I'm trying to unlock the bootloader so I can try flashing different ROMs and radios. I had a perfectly working global version of the Redmi 7. After a phone call, the network went off and wouldn't return.
What I've tried so far:
•Trying multiple Sims known to work
•Manual network selection (fails because it can't find any)
•Changing preferred network modes and bands with the *#*#4636#*#* menu. Nothing happens.
•Toggling airplane mode, several times.
•Factory reset, both from within the OS and from the recovery (Vol Up + Power button)
•Attempting to flash a Fastboot version of the latest global MIUI 11 ROM. This actually fails, saying that critical partitions can't be flashed or something.
•All sorts of bootloader unlock tricks, such as the older versions of MiFlash Unlock, using multiple accounts, etc.
I'm honestly stuck here. Any help in fixing my problem would be appreciated. It could be either getting the network to work, or unlocking the bootloader. I can't bind the MiAccount to the phone under developer options ->MiUnlock status or such, because it detects that there is a SIM in the phone alright, but it just can't connect to any network.

It was working fine for a few months. It just stopped being able to connect to a network all of a sudden. I swapped SIMs, moved to places with strong network connections (I verified with a different phone) and still nothing.
