Do I need to unlock the boot loader first? Because this didnt work for me.
Edit: 5th time rebooted, tried again, it worked!
failed on my lt26i
It works on all Lt26.
Be sure you have all drivers instaled properly and you are connected DIRECTLY to your pc, no usb-hubs etc.

SIM lock?
I rooted my phone using the initial method (I couldn't wait) and flashed CM9. My bootloader is unlocked and I have been running it for about a week. The mobile network is always alternating between airplane mode so I have no service at any time. I fixed it before but I can't remember how. I backed up my system at two different points (while the problem was fixed and I had service). But when I restored them, I face the same problem with the network. Any help?
Working on S and probably acro S

READ EVERY word of the first post of the thread for whatever it is your flashing.
Thanks for the quick response, actually immediately after posting earlier thread, I went through all the procedure used to performed rooting, only to found out that I had missed a step. I forgot to flash the kernel after rooting, these fixed the error and my phone upgraded and everything goes back to normal. Thanks so much:thumbup:
Now I have this question to ask, some of more reason I rooted this device is to make my phone faster or more responsive, how do I start and what to do to begin?

Missing steps is something we ALL do from time to time to time and generally when something doesn't work or you brick your Phone that's the reason. Start by reading, reading then reading some more. Flash a ROM, a Kernel, install a few tweaks etc etc etc. I myself these days prefer a tweaked Stock ROM, others prefer CM10 but the choice is yours at the end of the day.

Hello,
I did a factory reset on Samsung galaxy w i8150 (via settings-->privacy etc), which was rooted using recovery method (xda link) and with its stock ROM (no customs). After that, I have the following problems:
1. After inserting PIN password, it stuck: keeps loading with message: “unlocking SIM card”*. I am getting out of this by pressing for 3 seconds the “lock” button and selecting “flight mode” *. After this, it enters to the home screen, with the problem 2 message:
2. “process com.android.phone terminated unexpectedly. try again.”, with only option: “compulsory close”*. This error sometimes reappears after some minutes/hours.
3. Seems like I lost root access. The superuser app exists (and I updated it) but root checker informs that “the device has not proper root access” and programs that require root don’t work properly.
4. Cannot connect to wifi! It stuck on “obtaining IP address” *. Already tried: router without security and router with WPA security. i8150 could connect to this router before factory reset. I only tested on one router. I do have internet over 3G.
* My phone has Greek language so the translation of messages may not be exact.
Already did a lot of “googling” over all the above problems, gained some knowledge but not enough to fix it…
Questions:
1. Is re-rooting with recovery method (xda link) safe?
2. What should I do?
Semi brick?
Thanks for reading,
thanks in advance to everyone who can help

how laggy do you feel, when how do you fell laggy ? i think u just remove the system app who not giving feature good for you, and u just install init.d and install tweaks and your handheld is for what ? gaming, or just like internet
It was getting too laggy, believe me. No gaming. Normal use except for i have 5 mail accounts with 20-30 mails per day.
When i was rooted, i had stopped (with root app delete) some apps from running and now that I am not properly rooted, i cannot start them over, so this is why (i think) there are problems (that i wrote at my first post)...
Is there any hard reset that will bring my phone back to the exact facotry settings? already tried hard reset using stock recovery mode.
If the only solution is flashing firmware again, what firmware do i need for Greece?
phone details
I8150NELM3
kernel
[email protected]#3
GINGERBREAD.XXLMB
PDA LMB
PHONE LM3
CSC LB2 (HTS)
Also, i re-rooted with recovery method and nothing changed.
Every ROM has every language preinstalled.
I "solved" the problem by flashing cwm with odin and cyanogenmod 10 with cwm.
2.3.6 is gurbage. Extremely slow. But cyanogenmod 10 is absolutely great, it works pefect without lagging. It is like buying a new phone.
Help me help me please, I'm so stupid , I have an AT&T S3 unlocked and I'm currently using Tmobile...
I rooted my phone, and I used DEBLOATER FREE, to debloat some of the stuffs in the list. I was actually being careful with the selection. Anyway, I deleted some files, and when I restarted the phone. I'm no longer getting signal. Can someone please help me. I need to get it fix soon. Any helps and advices at this point would be greatly appreciated. Please by the way, i tried to go to setting ->More setting->Mobile Networks, and it freezzed and received a message "unfortunately, settings has stopped"
I used mskip's tool to rooted my phone, if i used that tool to relfash my stock recovery, would this solve the issue?
or I'm on ICS 4.0.4 right now, If i Update the phone to JB would this solve the issue.
Let me add one more thing that, I rooted this phone a long time ago, today i was being stupid and debloat stuffs assuming it won't affect my phone much

just reflash stock rom via odin using this tutorial here ----> you will lose all data so find a way to back it up to your computer.

First of, thanks you so much. I don't think you attach a link for me yet. A quick update, I checked my imei, and it said null/null. so if i used mskip tool to do a efs partition would that solve the issue?
I'm downloading the ics stock rom right now, and I will keep you update. I will probably do it, via mskip's tool. What I'm wondering is, if i used samsung kies and update to JB, would this solve the issue also?
the phone is working fine, it's just i can't make call

I did more research and I think I narrow it down to EFS, mb i deleted my efs folder while debloated my phone, or some random reason...do you know any possible fix? because I didn't back it up. if I'm to re flash stock rom, do you think it will fix this issue?
I found this guide right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
so i re-flashed the stock rom using mskip tool, and now i can make call, but now i'm getting a bunch of messages like process android.process.acore has stopped, and touchwiz home error and i can't get pass that. Please Advise
[SOLVED] thank you so much, got everything back to normal. one more questions, since i re-flashed the stock rom, I can still access CWM recovery, but as i tried to install superuser, it said I can't...this is my first time so can you lead me to the right path?
Just re root your device using the same method.

Hi ,
I need some help in resolving issues with my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S (LT18i). sorry for big post.
I searched over this and CM forums for similar issues/detailed stapes, but failed. please forgive if its same dumb question asked by several people, but right direction will be helpful.
I have loaded Cynogenmod on my mobile, but now I want to goto stok firmware. Please guide me the steps for noob. Small back ground:
My bro bought this phone a year back and felt its slow and struck some times. So, I collected it from him and want to resolve issues . observed that there is a lag while opening dailer sometimes and sometimes after dailing number it takes approx 5-7 minutes to start dailing. so, wanted to resolve it .
What I did: I read a guide for rooting talk dot sonymobile website and rooted using Eroot_V1.3.4. (also unlocked bootloader using sony official code from website developer.sonymobile as suggested at cyanogenmod wiki Install_CM_for_anzu)
Finally I got Cynogenmod on my mobile. but I observed many bugs in it. the Slow/lagging problem still exists.
Yesterday when I tried to switch on bluetooth, the mobile went crazy. it automatically rebooting for every 3-5 minutes.
I went to recovery mode, tried different options, no use.
Actually I have taken backup before installing cynogenmod (cm-9.1.0-anzu.zip).
I took backup in view of going back, if some thing goes wrong. I thought it is the offical stock ware backup(rooted, unlocked and CWM added stock). So, just want to go back and tried to restore it. After sometime CWM restore completed when i rebooted system is up without any message on screen , I can see mobile is on by light.no flash screen nothing. after 10 minutes, I had to got back to latest backup of Cynogenmod.
Now I can see mobile is starting and CWm loaded but started rebooting loop. Then as a last try I have wiped cache/data.
Now my mobile is working but sometimes getting rebooted.
So, in this situation I want to go back to stock rom.
Please advise me how to go back. I dont need unrooting or unlocking boot loader. Just going back to stock is fine.
the dailer lag, dailing lag are ok for now. Please help.
Thanks,
Aditya

Dear SGY,
Thanks for quick answer.I checked the link suggested.I have downloaded the firmware link provided in that link. But I am confused whether it suits my situation or not.
I am worrying that if something go wrong my mobile might brick.
the reason for worry is as I already had cynogenmod. is that ok ?
one more question is that in CWM i have taken backup before installing cynogen mod. Is it not stock firmware ? If no, is that data backup ?
If it is data backup, can I restore that backup after following steps to get back stock firmware.
Sorry for too many questions.
thank you. now i could revert back my firmware. need to check how works
