I know that we don't have official LTE just yet but dang...these speeds are ridiculous! This is a speed test in front memorial hospital.
Yeah its nice. I have seen 59 down off of deercreek
I'm in Jacksonville & enjoying LTE as well
I come to Jacksonville every weekend and regularly see 45-55 down and 15-25 up. I sure wish I lived there!!!

At&t LTE in Jax
Hi,
Saw your post come up on google. I'm considering jumping ship to Verizon soon due to their mammoth LTE coverage. Can you share how well Jax is covered by AT&T LTE now? It'll help me a lot since the new iPhone is about to launch and I'll have to make a decision very soon.
Thx. AJ
I get LTE off Alta, off Kernan, The beaches, Southside, Regency and I think most of the westside/OP. I have got in some gaps but usually they don't last long. Near Mr Taco on
bowden is the shakiest I've seen coverage and out in St Aug I see HSPA. I've seen others report getting LTE downtown. I may have just been lucky but it seems pretty
solid. At home I see download speeds between 10-38 and at work Its between 30-59.

I'm happy with LTE coverage so far. They haven't fully enabled it throughout Jacksonville as of yet but I've seen trucks and vans at some cell towers as of lately working on them. I live right by the Town Center and get constant 15-25 down and 10-20 up. When around baymeadows and I95...I get 45-55 down and 35 up now. I would hold out a bit to see how much better it gets. I've got coworkers with Verizon s3's and they get spotty data. I wonder how the icrap5 destroys VZ network.

Well it's obvious that Verizon got the LTE in so many places but I've seen many speedtests of sprint showing their speeds and I was not impressed glad I switched from AT&T to Verizon.
Anyway could some sprint users post their speedtests results? and if you have LTE in you area on Sprint show them to
this is only out of curiosity I just wanna see the difference
This will have to wait as LTE is not yet up publicly for Sprint.
LTE if available at all will be in testing at best. Not even comparable.
I'm sure you can go rub one out to your speedtest results somewhere else though.
I can guarantee you VZW LTE will be faster. The quality of the network, and the fact that VZW owns so much spectrum, really makes it much faster, but do not doubt me, Sprint will have FAST LTE.

Absolutely wrong. VZW only uses the 700Mhz range to do LTE, it's true they do have a lot of coverage, but they also have a lot more phones out there meaning slower speeds as everyone is sharing the same towers. Coverage has NOTHING to do with speed.
Sprint on the other hand uses 1900Mhz, while with shorter theoretical range, it should be able to transmit faster than a 700Mhz signal would be able to.

yep same here, loving my pre paid wt mobile with the galaxy, best thing is I never have to turn on another radio to get fastest downloads if its there I just get it. Then agian I really dont need 20mbps+ download speeds Im not running my home network off my phone
I usually get into the mid 20's on my upload, but It's been slow today.
DL is decent but i see higher when people are asleep. its 3pm right now.
Here's my best Verizon test. It's usually in the mid 20's for download and teens for upload. Over 40 down from a server in Mexico, and I'm in the St Louis area... not bad.

Well as you can see in my sig that was my highest speed test ever
all I care that I can make calls / texts / listen to pandoria , sirius xm , di.fm , or winamp shoutcast so I am guessing few mbps is good enough for all of that as long as we have coverage that is the reason I dumped AT&T for Verizon
I have family plan so I have few dollars difference since I have it with my friends on AT&T we used to pay 63.50 each now it's 77$ but we got more data [4gb] and better coverage = win win

Verizon is win for me. I didn't like sprint or at&t in my area when I tried them. Verizon is the best I can get where I live. Way better coverage. Sprint is a joke in the phoenix area.
My VZ account currently:
5 lines
80.00 for talk and text share 700 (unlimited text)
48.75 per line with unlimited data, including all applicable tax and fees.
I actually like the pricing VZ gives (with unlimited data) 64.75 per line if dividing my bill.
I think all these 4G speeds are fine. Whether it is 10mbs or 40mbs you won't have a problem streaming good quality video. When I was with Sprint, I had Wimax all around me and I had no problems when it came to streaming video at high def, surfing the web, or streaming music so I am sure their LTE will be just fine.
Sprint's 3G is another story. I was not able to do anything on 3G. I wouldn't even attempt to stream a YouTube video on Sprint's 3G. Who had 20 minutes to wait for it to buffer? Now on Verizon, I am happy to say I can carry on business as usually on 3G and when I want that extra burst of HD video, 4G is everywhere.
So in reality, seeing who's 4G speeds are better really is pointless. If you stream a video over Sprint's LTE netwrok or Verizon's LTE network I am sure even if one has higher speeds of more then double you would not be able to tell anyway unless running an actual speed test.

not everyone uses their data for only surfing or streaming. I like to download the occasional torrent, some ranging in the GB file size. Data speeds seriously help and coverage does also especially when moving. I can start 4.37GB file download in Mesa and it will be finished when I arrive in Paradise Valley (30min drive roughly). without that high transfer rate and good coverage, that wouldn't happen.

Funny thing about that though, even though higher freqs do have the ability to transmit data faster, it makes you wonder why then LTE at 700MHZ is faster than 3G at a higher freq. Of course the data speeds you see almost depends on the bandwidth they have to offer and how many people are on too.
Here in north houston i had the best LTE experience but at my work by 290 and beltway 8 experienced data problems. 3g one minute 4g another minute then nothing. Called sprint they said for me to switch to cdma for now til tomorrow because they where working on towers and should be done thursday. The lady specified that on thursday to turn back to LTE/CDMA and update prl and profile and call back and they will credit me back. I was too much of in a hurry to ask what kind of credit anyone have a idea whats there meaning or "Credit"?

Hows your 3g speed?
I live in Atascocita and I've experienced hit or miss 4G. Strangely, when I go to work (Baytown), it pops up fairly frequently.
i get solid LTE in Cypress... particularly around Louetta nd Grant... I got decent LTE over on Westheimer just west of the Galleria... Oh and also got solid LTE around Tidwell/Hollister and 290... these were all places where i was inside a building not driving thru...
Im guessing 290 and beltway 8 is just a bad area slow 3g by my work even though i see all these phone towers
Maybe they will be releasing LTE in Maryland soon then.
Waiting for LTE in New Jersey and all of New York state/city. Im hearing a lot of good things about it and from the screen shots in the other threads it seems like our phones are gonna be pretty fast. Cant wait for 800mhz and Clearwire TD LTE to be launched.

Looked and haven't noticed and discussion here and haven't found it, but my 4g indicator is lighting up here in Merrillville, and when conducting a speedtest, it reads LTE. Does this mean what I thingk, unannounced markets are already getting 4G. 18 mpbs/3.61mpbs- are my download and upload speeds, almost comparable to my comcast wifi.
Hope it's true..
That'd be some exciting news! Now if we can just get some decent towers in Lake Station/Portage I'll be in good shape
Doubt if we ever get it here. We didn't even get WiMaX. SC is like a non factor for Sprint.

Have you ran a speed test? I went shopping in schereville off of Indianaplis blvd and was getting 4G Lte signal.
I've been getting lte in Merrillville since I switched to Sprint and got the SGS3 back in June (end of June). I just ran a SpeedTest sitting in my TV room and had 14000 down and 3300 up; which is fairly typical. The highest I have ever gotten was 28000/8400, but at work it is about 1/10th of that (1800/800).
On Broadway from 61st to 73d full 4G 12000kb.

I'll have to keep an eye on my phone when I'm out an about then. I seem to get 4G around Gary coming home from work on 12/20. Maybe that part of Lake County/Porter County will too soon.

My service has gotten somewhat better but it's only somewhat decent at 1am to 5 am lol. Kinda useless.
I'm surrounded by 3 towers (all within 5 to 10 miles) and still after the last round of "data enhancements" I average 300kb download on 3g. Closest LTE tower is about 17 miles away :\
Mine shows all kinds of improvements over the last several months. My 3g is as bad or worse that it has been since the 'upgrades'. 45kbps down is marginally faster than the first modem I owned some 12 odd years ago. Good thing I have unlimited data...One day they'll finish their LTE rollout in the podunk midwest towns and bring it to my area. One day...

I have lte and its great except their coverage isn't that great and when I drop down to 3g I get horrible speeds not even close to 1mb. Yet sprint says network vision is complete in my area. I call bull
I use sensorly from the app store. So far the maps are accurate in the NYC area. I can literally see the coverage updates as they go live. Im not pushing the app but its the only thing I can rely on anymore with the slow roll out of the LTE.

+1 on Sensorly app. Sprint 3G in my area runs between poor speed to unusable. No LTE here yet either.

I never get any 4G anywhere in NYC, whether it be Astoria or Midtown. The only time I've ever gotten 4G service from sprint was when I was visiting someone in New Hampshire. It surprised the hell out of me, but it didn't even last long anyway. Sprint's 4G sucks.

This whole Thread seems confusing to me.
Sprint doesn't have any 4g LTE anywhere in New Hampshire. Only Wimax in the southern part of the state like Salem or Nashua. Trust me I know I live in New Hampshire. And why would you say Sprint's 4G sucks if you never had it?

However, when I am visiting my parents in the bronx, it's amazing and usually get at least 26mbps
Hi. There is LTE in NYC. But it is very spotty. There us a very small area in Manhattan midtown around 5th ave and 45th. Then along yh henry Hudson parkway from 86 to 120.
The Bronx is part of NYC as NYC has 5 boroughs and must of the LTE coverage can be found there. I would say 60% of the Bronx has it.
Brooklyn and queens a little in the crown heights and Jamaica sections
