hello. i installed Google Voice integration whicn integrates GV sms in messaging app. I accidently deleted it and now i cant send or receive sms...the only way is to install the app again again and disable integration. however when i try to install it, following error occurs" gv integration could not be installed.Free up some space and try again". i have almost 8 gb free...is there any way to start sms other than restoring rom?
Try going into settings, apps, and finding the SMS app. Clear cache and data. Do the same for GVoice Reboot phone. Try again.

A few months ago, I installed the Google Voice app, chose my existing number and Google voice in settings and let it run. It was ok, but not as good as VVM. Plus gettign a text msg, a gmail alert and a VM alert every time I get a call was annoying.
So, when I flashed Mik's, I didn't re-install gvoice, and chose my carrier and now I get no VM alerts. VVM says I have no messages. "1" on dialer direct to VM says I have no messages, but if I browse to google.com/voice on my browser, I can see my messages.
How the hell do I get away from Google voice now and just let Sprint VM handle my messages?
EDIT!!!!
Nevermind, finally found it.
*38 disables gvoice
I removed gv and removed my sprint number from it
I had a VM come in and instead I got a text saying I got a VM and the app shows nothing. I sent myself a VM from the app but it never arrives
sent from my Galaxy S 2 from Sprint on unnamed 2.0.1
I had a similar issue ... didn't have GV installed or hooked up, but my Visual Voicemail wasn't working. I came across a post( you can search if you want to find it ) but it basically said to do the following, which worked for me. The issue was that GO SMS( or anyother 3rd party sms app, maybe even Google Voice ) was messing with the voicemail recieving the messages.
1.) Uninstall Go SMS, or whatever app you have.
2.) Go to applications, manage applications, and find the voicemail app, now force close it and clear data.
3.) Go to the about phone, and system update, and then update profile.
4.) Now relaunch the voicemail app
5.) Reinstall Go SMS( I never did that, just left it uninstalled for now )
After step 4 I started getting voicemails in my visual voicemail app again. I'd say try those steps, or whichever ones pertain to you, and see if it works after.
If I send a text message from the default messaging app, I get a "Text Message Not Sent" message, and if someone sends me a message, instead of showing up with their name, it has a number I don't recognize, but their name will be appended to the message. I don't have these issues if I use Google Voice.
I KNOW it has something to do with GV settings, but I've tried everything I can think of to reset it, including clear data on both apps, uninstall and reinstall of GV. I even tried changing radios. I really do NOT want to do a factory reset. I suppose I can use the rather anemic GV app for texts, but if someone texts my "real" phone number, I think I won't get notified of it.
Is there some setting I'm missing, or some third-party app that can unify texting across both numbers?
Wait now... So first off, when someone texts you, they're sending it to your Google Voice number?
And when you send texts out, which number are you trying to use?
The first part of troubleshooting here is to go into Google Voice settings and tell it to not receive texts via the Messaging app. If you're going to be using only your GV # for SMS, just use the Google Voice app. Don't have it forward to your Messaging app it just causes problems (like random #'s as you've seen).
It keeps things simple. When you get an SMS to your Messaging app, you know it was sent to your carrier #. You reply and it comes from your carrier #.
When you get an SMS in your GV app, you know it came to your GV # and when you reply it comes from your GV #.
This really is the simplest way to manage it if you want to be able to use both your carrier # and the GV #.
Regardless, GV should never get in the way and prevent you from sending texts from the Messaging app.
The problem is that it doesn't matter what I have the GV app set to. I still can't send texts from my messaging app. Even if i uninstall GV, i still can't send texts from my messaging app.

I think you're having a separate issue. In all of my time using Google Voice in different configurations there's nothing that has stopped my stock Messaging app from sending and receiving SMS to my carrier #.
I'm running FE22, however this problem was noticed in several ICS builds.
I'm trying to use the Google Voice App for all my texting/voicemails. I'm using the "use your google voice number..." option in the integration, as I had my google voice number set up prior to moving to Sprint.
Google voice is not notifying me of new voicemails or text messages. The online webpage (as well as the Google Voice plugin for Chrome) see the messages right away.
I've checked every and all "notification" type options on the phone. If I enable the "send text messages to phone" and "send text message when I have a voicemail" I get notified via the text messaging app, however that's not what I want. It should notify me in the status bar and play a sound when a new text message/voicemail comes in WITHOUT sending it to the native text messaging app. I swear it used to do this in GB, but I can't be sure if it was on my old Verizon phone, or this phone.

If you go into the Gvoice app - is it set to sync background data?
I've run a few ICS roms and haven't had this problem.
Maybe try clearing the data on that app or uninstalling/reinstalling fresh?
If you are using a battery saver app that disables mobile data or background data, like Juice Defender, then Google Voice will not receive updates while data is disabled. No updates to the GV app, then no notifications.

try this. Open Google Voice App, Menu, Settings, Sign Out. Now, when trying to sign back in, it asks if you want to "Skip" or go "Next". This is asking if you want to integrate the "special Sprint+GoogleVoice" application. Apparently Sprint and GoogleVoice have partnered up. So click SKIP not NEXT. Skipping will allow you to go about Google Voice in the NORMAL SET UP.
I was having trouble making phone calls with my Google Voice number. I experimented and realized that this Sprint integration was the culprit.
Let me know if this solves the issue
So it's fixed now. I'm not 100% sure what did it, but I think it was the option "Voicemail display". I had it checked at one point, and it seem to start working after I unchecked it.
However, prior to this, I had also completely wiped my phone (deleted everything on the internal SD card) and flashed the latest FE22 build.
disable the "Voicemail display - view and play voicemails from the phone call log"
An update for anyone experiencing this and puzzled as to what fixes it. Of course this could have far more variables in play but the setting that enabled the Google Voice voicemail notifications to work was disabling the "Voicemail display - view and play voicemails from the phone call log" option under Google Voice settings. I am running GA10 (JB 4.1.2).
So facebook already came preinstalled with his phone- sigh
For some reason I can not send any voice messages inside facebook though. It just doesn't work. I can try to record something but nothing will show up and be send.
In FACT if I try to record audio using the preinstalled facebook app it will trigger a bug. I won't be able to send voice messages through whatsapp or use OK google or anything where you can use your voice. WHAT IS THIS and what can I do about this? thanks
