Is anyone else getting the below error when trying to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery on 2.5.1.3? I just updated and this is the error I am getting:
Error while downloading from server. Please make sure that you have a stable internet connection, and that your SD card is inserted and has free space!
Working onwifi, stock rooted via gfree method. Only think I found with search is someone who had this problem disappear after a few hours and his thoughts were a server error with the clockwork servers.
Anyone?
I'm also extremely frustrated with this issue
Mine didn't change even when I connected via wifi

I`m also getting errors, can`t install the new 2.5.1.8 Recovery!
I am having this problem. I just got a replacement Droid 1 and obtained root through Soup and Root. I can't restore a backup through ROM Manager, I can't do much of anything through ROM Manager. It says I have the current CW as I am using my same SD card from before, but I can't download/ install a new ROM, restore one, or anything. When I tried to flash CW to see if that was the problem I get the same error. I have internet connectivity and my phone is working fine other than that.
I have been going CRAZY over this! I just upgraded my captivate to 2.2 today, rooted it and now I've LITTERALLY been trying to install clockworkmod for the past 3 hours, I have bricked my phone so many times and had to restore back to the default froyo and re-rooted it so many times and I keep getting the same error.
I've been trying to find the clockworkmod manually so I can just install it without ROM Manager, anybody have any clue how I can do this? I have a samsung captivate.
Also, I paid for the Premium version of ROM Manager via PayPal however I have no idea how to "reinstall" the Premium version without re-paying the $3.99, anybody know how?

There is no 2.5.1.8 recovery for Vision, it's a bug in ROM Manager where it shows you versions that are available for all phones.
Yes,now saw your answer at development section
2.5.1.4 also not working, only 2.5.1.3 available at the moment!
Not working for my buddy and I either. Must be a server issue . I have 2.5.1.3
2.5.1.3 is the newest at the moment!
Seems to be back online today...
There have been a few updates to the ROM Manager app overnight to fix some of these issues, try updating via the Market if you've had problems.
Still the same version of Clockwork Recovery for Vision so far though.
Rom Manager doesn't seem to know that I've got CWM installed. When I rooted and installed CWM I didn't do it through Rom Manager originally. Now CWM won't let me use it to manage my backups and keeps asking me if I want to install CWM? I've got Google Wallet installed so I'm a little nervous flashing things needlessly.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
edit: CWM v5.5.0.4
do you try "wipe cache" and "advanced->wipe dalvik cache?"
Thanks, I just tried, it took quite a while to clear the cache. When I booted up it went through a whole Optimizing Apps process, I'm not sure if that was due to wiping the dalvik cache? But it still didn't fix the Rom Manager issue.
Its probably not yet compatible if you have the touch version of cwm installed, so it wants to flash the standard one. Or you could always just let rom manager just reflash cwm overtop and then you may be good to go.

Maybe it can't detect it? I know we had to set which CWM version we had installed on the SGS.
Maybe try to run the install?

I don't have the touch version installed (doesn't seem to be the touch version anyway). I should have said this in the first post but it CWM v5.5.0.4.

Flashing CWM over CWM shouldn't wipe my phone right? It's only the stock bootloader that requires a full wipe?
I installed ROM manager and then CWM via ROM manager last night and its CWM v5.5.0.2 which ROM manager thinks is the latest: perhaps it can't deal with 5.5.0.4 yet...

ah, that would probably do it...guess i'll just wait it out a little longer, thanks
I have the exact same issue as this Rom Manager refuses to see I have CWM installed so just keeps telling me I need to install it it also can't download and flash its own version and just freezes after download
So any updates on this or more users experiencing it ?
I think I've found the solution. In ROM Manager tap the menu button at the top and then tap Manual Flash Override. Next it'll ask you if you've flashed CWM manually so tap OK because that's what we've done. Next pick which GN you have and then choose CWM 3.x+. There you have it, it should work now.
Don't use ROM Manager - problem solved!!
Seriously, though, it's a TERRIBLE piece of software
I'm fairly new to using it but it seems decent, why is it so terrible? I had an eris before this and did everything manually through recovery, this seems like it's a lot better than that.
It's just more trouble than it's worth. Why not just manually flash CWM using fastboot and get your head around that as opposed to an app which can - frankly - break things?
Flashing it via fastboot is what causes the above issue. Since you flash it manually rom manager can't see it, that's why I posted the above steps to kind of "force" rom manager to see the manually installed version.
But if you're not using ROM Manager then what's the issue? Copy ROM to SD card, reboot to recovery, flash ROM...where is ROM Manager needed in that equation?
If you're not using it then there is no issue, but this thread isn't about using it or not, it's about getting it to work with the galaxy nexus when you manually flash CWM.
I like it for the backup and restore feature and being able to change the names used to backup
Hi guys. I have a huge problem. Few minutes ago I tried to install CyanogenMod 7.2-GIO-KANG by use CWM v5.0.2.7. Everything appeared to be ok, but when phone reboot I just can see white word ANDROID on a black background and nothing more. Phone just stop on this screen. Is there any resolution for my problem? I modded lot of phones, this is my first crash. Thx for every advice. Bye
Same issue. Is there a way to restore to stock firmware without odin? Such as from the recovery console?
If before you had an official rom, you must use the ext4 formatter. I think you'll find it in the thread! Hope to be useful

Now I have a new problem, it no longer allows me to boot the device, it displays an image of a phone connected to a pc. Does this mean I have to flash in odin?

Have you downloaded gio_v1.0.ops?
That may cause the "an unnamed file was not found" problem
all you need to do is "wipe data/factory reset" ... i didn't use any ext4-formatter and it works well..

I have this issue too.
Im new to android but I followed the thread, I:
Root
install CWM, then nandroid backup
flash CM7 in CWM
I downloaded the CM7 KANG file and tried several times, thinking file might be corrupt. Same problem.
Unfortunately my backup didn't work, so I'm ordering a Jig to fix my phone.
But I'd like to know what went wrong.
I didnt reformat my SD card with 4ext though, should I have?

I tried this and it didnt work for me
I've been searching for a solution before writing my own post, for I'm aware there are probably many, many topics of people dealing with the same issue.
Well, here's is my problem.
I've got two wildfires A3333. Flashed CM 7.2.0 on both of them, successfully. GPS does work on only one of them. I've tried the GPS test on the other one. The compass is working, the localization is not.
So, as said before, I've googled for some solution for the other one, and here comes the temporary downgrading of CWM to 2.5.0.7 and then installing one of the following: buzz.radio-3.35.15.31-signed.zip, buzz.radio-3.35.20.10-signed.zip or buzz.radio-3.35.19.25-signed.zip that will be put on the SD.
Ok, everything is set up, let's reboot to recovery.
Now, the recovery screen is showing version 3.0.0.6 and I don't know if that's normal, since I've set it to 2.5.0.7 before rebooting. Won't mind for now.
Let's flash the zips. And all I get is this message, with all of the radios:
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Uhm, let's try by setting the option toggle signature verification to disabled.
Here's a different message:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the Clockworkmod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation aborted.
It seems that the 3.0.0.6 version shown on the main menu is kind of relevant... Should it show 2.5.0.7 instead of that? What now?
Thanks in advance.
After flashing the temporary CWM,it'll automatically boot into that CWM version. Now flash the radio with that.
And if you reboot you'll return to the CWM version you had before.
To fix GPS you could also use this method,

Yes, if by "flashing the temporary CWM" you mean entering the ROM manager, tapping on All ClockwordMod Recoveries, download the 2.5.0.7 version, let it install and tap Reboot into recovery, well that's exactly what I did. And the recovery screen is showing me this 3.0.0.6 version anyway, which is kind of suspicious to me.
I've already read the topic you linked, some days ago, but that means having to wipe the CM 7.2.0 and reinstall it later and I'm not sure whether I can backup the apps that are in the EXT partition since I'm using Link2SD. And honestly, I'm not even sure I'm able to make a good backup.

I wouldn't really recommend using ROM Manager, and what I meant by flashing was to flash the CWM zip with your current Clockworkmod recovery.
And also consider upgrading your recovery.
And about the guide, just make a nandroid backup with CWM, and restore it instead of flashing a new rom.
Hope this helps
I shall give a try to it all and let you know.
One last question before I proceed. In order to upgrade my recovery I'd have to download the latest CWM available for Buzz and install it the same way I'll do with v2.5.0.7 (of course, after that step), am I right?
Thanks!
Ok, I've installed the v2.5.0.7 via the install from .zip option and got to install the radios. Woo!!
No, hold back.
Now the GPS icon is showing up but GPStest doesn't detect any activity.
I've installed 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10 first, then 13.45.55.24H_3.35.15.31 and then 13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25. Same result.
Now should I rely on plan B?
I've read of someone who got it working by installing the 3 radios in crescent order. Is it worth a try?

No, that'll only be temporary, as with 2.5.
Get the PC49IMG.zip file for that recovery, put it on the root of the SD, reboot to bootloader, it'll scan and will ask to install, select yes, you're done.
First GPS fix will take some time, maybe from 2-10 mins.
I've only flashed the .20.10 Radio. It worked for me...
Or if you have a sense rom or the backup of your stock rom, give the guide a try...
Try this radio file. link, worked for me under cwm 2.5.0.7

My fault, there's something I should make clear.
The radios I've been talking about before have been installed on the first Wildfire, the one I said the GPS was working (and in the meanwhile it proved to be untrue as I discovered the GPS icon has never showed up before flashing the radio). This one Wildfire has CWM 2.5.0.1, installed with Unrevoked. The second Wildfire (which I'd like to use as my usual phone) was rooted with PC49IMG as Unrevoked wouldn't work with it and is running CWM 3.0.0.6, which I've reported in the first post.
For now, let's discard the CWM 3.0.0.6 phone.
It is on the CWM 2.5.0.1 phone where I've temporarily installed 2.5.0.7 and flashed the radios. Could it be relevant?
(maybe I'd better update the CWM anyway)

Uhm, link is broken. My CWM 2.5.0.7 looks to be working properly anyway.
stick with 2.5.0.7 recovery and 20.10 radios, that worked for me using Navitel, as for file here.
Flashed Froyo 2.2.1 shipped ROM... and GPS didn't work on it either. Great.
I've restored my CM backup and found out all my link2SD linked apps to be screwed in return. Vanished. Link2SD says there's soooo much free space in that second partition... can't imagine when it's been formatted, but nevermind.

Not really sure if CWM matters or not, we use 2.5 to flash radios because the flashing script is different from currently used ones.
Ty upgrading anyway,
Are you sure it isn't a hardware fault. If GPS doesnt work in stock rom, it could possibly be a hardware issue...

Hello!
I recently got a Note 2 (GT-N7105)
And for some silly reason wich even disappoints myself i wanted to overclock , well that didn't make sense i know but however i did it! and directly after i installed the required file (I don't remember wich one but it was for 1.8Ghz) after the installing my phone kept showing the boot logo , i tried to use my backup but even after restoring it didnt boot! I cleaned everything wich also cleaned my backup...
I been on it for about 7 hours now trying different roms , kernels , and every file i could find but nothing helps.
I now installed Cyanogenmod using CMW but even that bootloops.
The last thing i could notice is CMW showing me a E: failed to Mount /efs (Invalid argument) Wich makes me worry even more...
I honestly hope there are some good peaple who could help me with this... Finally got a great phone and by stupid mistakes i made it won't work anymore..
I don't care what rom gets on it , Even if its a hello kitty rom u won't hear me complain , If the phone works again i'll be happy!
Not sure if this helps but its a GT-N7105 , i know it had the newest android there was (4. something, i think it was 4.3)
Odin does see the device , My CMW (6.0.4.1) works and Download Mode works.
I hope anybody can help me!
In case you want to help me live wich would be awesome my skype is : chrishendriks92
If it gets fixed i will Offcourse place the solution here.
(The note is not a new one , its used and a few months old , worked 100% before my stupid decisions bricked it)
(so here's a small version)
-Every rom i tried will bootloop , It shows a different boot video/logo everytime tho
-It all happened after i tried a 2.8Ghz Overclock
-i get a EFS error in CMW
-Accidentily i deleted my backup but i don't mind whatever rom gets on it
-Download mode and CMW (6.0.4.1) works
