Returning to stock from Vicious 4.1 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Having LTE problems with flashed 4.1 vicious rom. So trying to go back to ICS. I am using the current toolkit 7.8 but when i do option nine it is unable to extract the tar file from the tgz. It dowloads the file it just wont flash it? Any suggestions or easy answers to returning to ICS thanks!

Why not put the latest JB on the phone? Get the images from Google and flash them ADB (the only way to do it), it takes 10min max.

Ive tried a few JB roms and they all have done this 4g 3 g loop thing.. I was going to flash it back to stock .. Do the update for the latest verizon ICS update to imm76q (its supposed to fix this issue) and flash back to JB from there

Its an issue on verizons end atm. Mine have been looping bad and dropping data all together. I tried this and it didn't change a thing

IM going to try it.. at the risk of sounding like a noob.. which i am .. i will ask anyway. How do you flash via adb? Im guessing I cant use the tool kit for this and other than flashing zip files in recovery im unaware of how to put these on.

Read the Stock Device section.
Using any tool but the official Google ones is like playing with fire, why not do it the right way?

By stock images you mean they don't come with the extras Verizon adds?
The question is: Can a Verizon user flash the CDMA/LTE images from Google and have a functional phone?
I believe the answer is: Yes.
Personally, I had no issues flashing the GSM images downloaded directly from Google in my phone purchased from Play Store. It should be the same for Verizon binaries.

So I'm looking for the stock rom for the new GSM GN that came out, possibly deodexed and rooted already. Can't seem to find it with search. Thanks.

I mean after all, some of us are "flashaholics"
and actually.. I have honestly flashed on the to go. But that was for kernels not ROM. But realistically speaking, if I was on a trip and a new version of a ROM came out. I'd probably just flash it to stay updated

(Q)Getting GN in a week! *Questions*

Hey guys, I'm getting the GN in a week and I have some questions.
1. The difference between Takju, and Yakju are the same right? Except google wallet, and I the roms/kernel on XDA is interchangeable right?
2. Let's say google releases jelly bean, do I need to recieve the official Jelly bean update, than flash a custom rom? Or can I just flash a custom jelly bean rom?
3. Flashing radios in CWM, is it permanent?
4. On average, what's the average overclock(CPU) for you guys?
5. For the Nexus toolkit, I can just press #7 and it will do everything for me, right?
*Coming from the G2X*
2. Depends what they change. A new bootloader and radio may come with it, which would need to be flashed before any custom ROM.
3. Yes

1. Should be, yeah. So far, the only difference I've seen is Google Wallet.
2. Either choose to flash stock Jelly Bean when it arrives or go with a Jelly Bean custom ROM when they arrive. It's all just a matter of preference.
3. Yes, until you flash another radio image.
4. I go with the stock clock. I really have no need for overclocking.
5. Yup, given that option 7 is a "one-click" kind of option. I do not use toolkits except for backing up and restoring my EFS.

Takju and Yakju are just versions of the stock ICS firmware, they're perfectly stock with no regional customization. Takju simply has Google Wallet pre installed, that's it. Whether you're on takju or yakju has no bearing on what ROM or kernel you can use.

Once they drop the Jellybean source and/or GNex images, you'll be able to flash any ROM built from it without accepting the OTA first (you'll have anything new separately available to flash if necessary). It'll just be like you're flashing another 4.0.4 ROM.
3. Flashing radios in CWM, is it permanent?

What do you mean permanent? The radio stays there until you flash a different one, if that's what you mean. They don't expire or go away.

I guess you could use odin to flash a pre-rooted firmware. Then you would end up on the almost latest firmware, i.e. yakju 4.0.4 IMM76D, ehile the latest is IMM76I but that's easily taken care of with an update.
All you then need to do is maybe unlock your bootloader and keep it unlocked. Use this link and choose the full image option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586807
Download the attached odin file in that link and do exactly as Chainfire says.
After all of that is done, use the Galaxy Nexus toolkit to backup your EFS partition! That's where the IMEI is and if you lose the EFS partition somehow, you can always restore the one you backed up.
ODIN is a simple and easy to use tool. Normally not necessary to use if using a Nexus device, but it's good as a last-resort if all else fails and also good for normal use too.

Touchwiz is damn ugly
I wouldn't trade this Gnex for a phone ten times better than it. There's a reason I chose a Nexus phone.
And, let's say I buy the International version, and it comes with Android 4.0.3. Can't I use the toolkit to unlock bootloader, and than install custom rom? Or do I need to get official Android 4.0.4 than install custom rom? I prefer the toolkit, and not ODIN.
Sorry for being a noob, I'm from the G2X. And the firmware does not matter right? Because you're flashing a custom rom anyway..
Also, how do I backup the EFS on the toolkit? Is it #2 on the toolkit? Backup/Restore Phone

I ordered my Galaxy Nexus Wednesday and it was supposed to be here today by Fed Ex!! Could the injunction have effected this?

[Q] Need help restoring non-boooting Nexus

Can someone link to a guide dealing with restoring a Nexus? It's stuck at the Google logo. I can get into bootloader mode with power+volume down, but it's not reacting when trying to navigate with the volume buttons after that.
I got a little bit tired of waiting for official firmware on my Galaxy S2 (even if CM was fun) so I got a Nexus yesterday - great price these days. It was the 4.0.1 yakju version as I'm in Western Europe.Unlocked and rooted with Root Toolkit v1.4 after which I wanted to install 4.0.4 using this guide. Got as far as flashing system.img and then the above happened.
All I want is to get back to working stock so that I can flash 4.1. Have no data on the device so a factory reset is no problem.
Much appreciated.

Just fastboot flash Nexus Factory Images if you have no problem with wiping your data. That's odd that your bootloader won't respond to volume buttons... I might say try reflashing the bootloader and recovery, but since your bootloader is acting up right now, I'd go to flashing the factory images first, and if that doesn't work, try reflashing just bootloader and a custom recovery.

toroplus stock rooted ROM

Is there a flashable zip of the latest Google stock (not AOSP build) but rooted ROM for the toroplus (Sprint GNex)? I looked in the sub-forum and could find anything. I need to troubleshoot GrooveIP and the JB Audio APIs that I suspect the current custom ROM/kernel I'm using has issues with and the GrooveIP dev says that it works fine on stock.

Yes, that was my next plan, just wanted to make sure I'm not missing the obvious. I've seen devs post stock rooted ROMs before and didn't want to duplicate the work if already out there. I do not want to do a full phone restore to stock, just the stock ROM and kernel.

I meant the "Google Experience" as the devices come from the factory, with all GApps, Chrome, etc. The official Google image if you will.
