Friendstream.

So the other day I carefully uninstalled a bunch of system Apps I thought id never use, connected media and other stuff like that, and I uninstalled facebook for htc sense, peep, and friendstream. Is there any way to restore these social Apps? I already tried putting the apks in system/apps/ and nothings happened.

Why not delete them?

Click to collapse
If you know which you can delete that are not needed by the system or other apps that you use then go ahead and delete. Otherwise, freeze them until you know you do not need them.

What I did which was recommended on this site was purchase absolute system. With that program I back up my apps before deleting them. Il give ya a list but I plan to delete more, just want to run with what ive deleted so far for a few days to make sure theres no issues. So far I have zero issues and love my phone even more now. So far what ive deleted is....

I will post a rooted stock rom tomorrow that has most if not all crap removed. You can flash it right over your current setup without wiping.

Delete duplicate contacts

When i first got my phone my wife set it up for me while i was at work, and she imported my cantacts from my sd card to my sim 3 times too many. So now i have 4 of each contact and is getting rather annoying. On previous phones, such as the mytouch and my vibrant, i was able to choose a setting to delete duplicates, but i dont see that option on this phone. Im on stock UVALEM right now. Any suggestions? Because i dont feel like deleting 550 contacts. Would take hours

The only way I've found to do it is log into your Google account and go to contacts and it gives you an option to delete duplicates I believe. You can also manually multi select and delete them as well. I would be interested if there was another way.

There are apps in the market that will do it automatically. Duplicate contacts is one.

S Memo Sync

I've tried syncing to both when I wipe/flash a new rom and I've had trouble with both. Neither one can seem to restore my notes correctly as well as including duplicates. Which one do you guys sync to? Is there any tricks I'm missing?
And I've seen that they changed the calendar and notes on jelly bean tw to the same names as the apps found on the note 10.1. Do you guys think these will finally be able to sync notes between phone and tablet?

Try evernote, works perfectly for my needs. It syncs to a free 60mb storage.

If you go into the root of your phone you could find the smemo folder and just copy it onto your external card.. after a flash, put it back.

I would suggest Gtasks as the closest and simplest note/task to the memos app but with sync.
You can try the others like Springpad, Wunderlist and Evernote too but I think they're overly complex for what you want.

Tip : Deleting Locked Bookmarks on Galaxy Note 2

The Rogers version of the Galaxy Note II , SGH-I317M , comes preloaded with a number of bookmarks in the Internet browser.
Those bookmarks are locked, they can not be deleted , put in a folder or even moved in the bookmark list.
Anyhow, found a tip that deleted them...
(It also deletes your bookmarks, and resets all browser settings at a minimum)
Settings / Storage / Applications / All
Find Internet then Force Stop , Clear Cache, Clear data
Not sure of everything it does, but it reset all the browser's settings back to default and wiped all bookmarks, mine and Rogers.
They were replaced with a few standard ones like Google, Facebook, etc, but those can be deleted or moved.
Note the original data file was 27MB , after the process and restarting the browser the data file was only 1.1MB,
so not sure what was in it originally but the browser seems back to normal once I reset my options.
Worked on att note

Bookmarks
Thanks, this works on T Mobile GN2
Does anyone know how to remove the "other bookmarks" envelope under your email?
I was playing around with Kies Air the other day and was able to delete the "permanent bookmarks" one-by-one by browsing the phone from my laptop, without needing to erase settings, cache, etc.
Thanks worked with a verizon note 2
