So the other day I carefully uninstalled a bunch of system Apps I thought id never use, connected media and other stuff like that, and I uninstalled facebook for htc sense, peep, and friendstream. Is there any way to restore these social Apps? I already tried putting the apks in system/apps/ and nothings happened.

So I recently installed a new ROM and used mybackup root instead of titanium as the automated re installations of my apps was very tempting. However, upon trying to restore, it restored about 5 of my total apps. It lists all my apps in the program and just says: Nothing Restored. Is there a way to fix it? Or I was thinking if I installed Titanium could that somehow find all the backed up apps and reinstall them?
You can go to "SD CARD\rerware\MyBackup\" and there you should see the .apk's for all the apps you backed up. I haven't tried myself, but i'm pretty sure you could just install them. Might take a bit longer, but I'm not sure about the cross-compatibility between the 2 programs.
What about contacts? How do you back up those?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Those should be syncing automatically with your google account. Go into your gmail account and click on contacts on the side.
Will this work even if the contact says phone only?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
No, those you must manually backup, or you could add them to your Google contact list and then they will be backed up automatically upon sync.
Ok, thanks

I have notice that in the last day or so my phone sync icon has been constantly spinning and draining battery very fast....Help, is there a fix for this???

If you're on a Sense Rom & have removed any system apps that sync, the syncing will go on forever as it's trying to sync an app that's not there. Gmail, Facebook, Peep, Friend Stream & its counterparts, Weather... you get the point. Restore those apps or reflash the ROM to solve the problem. A temporary fix would be going into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications and force stopping com.htc.bgp but you'll have to do that any time the phone syncs.
I don.t recall removing anything...I just start to notice this about two days ago..I am running the Elite Series Custom Rom and have not had any problems untol now...strange...I really hate to reflash

Does a battery pull, wipe of cache, and dalvik cache, and then reboot solve it? It sounds like something is stuck syncing. Maybe Facebook, the weather, or something. When you go to menu>settings>accounts and sync, do you see any of your accounts stuck with the spinning sync icon?

Hello.
What is the first thing (or first few things) you do after flashing a new ROM?
Me: disable data =D; I get charged like crazy if I leave it on. I turn it back on only when needed.
The very first thing I do is hit reboot in recovery.

Same here, make sure I'm signed into my google account and get all my contacts back. Or else I get texts from people and don't know who they're from
Praying to god this would be my last flash. I managed to accomplish that.
Restore contacts and accounts
same here, then reboot.
I disable data..enable wifi and set up my google account, change my wallpaper and titanium restore.
The first thing I do is fill my Google Account in order to reinstall my free apps from the Market and my address book contacts to see if the memory below Ext is well behaved and if so restored with titanium backup.
disabling/freezing apps/services that i dont want, and make my data connection 2g for more batter : O)
Coffee and cigarette and thinking about next step/rom

Hey guys,
So I'm in the verge of smashing my phone to pieces. I've tried just about everything.
Whenever I share links or pages or YouTube videos to Facebook, the "landing" page for sharing is in another language. I've checked all my language settings, cleared cache for Facebook, I wiped data for Facebook, removed all data related to it through root explorer and titanium backup, rebooted etc etc.
Included is a screen shot of what it does. My next step is to just jump back to an old nandroid but I'd rather avoid the hassle.
Has anyone encountered this before?

Additionally I've wiped just about every browser setting possible, just in case the sharing is through Web Facebook. I've also confirmed that my browser Facebook language is set to english.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Im getting a different language if I click an outside link in the fb app. This just started a few days ago. Let me grab a screenie.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Edit: Hell, it seemed to correct itself. It was just doing it an hour ago. Anyway, here is the screen that was giving me a different language. Sorry, don't have a fix for you
You need to get the"passport app" it will automatically make a reservation for you to the appropriate country the language belongs to. Then you go there and find out who's messing with your fb. It worked for me.

That's very interesting. The same EXACT thing happens to me when I use my Daily Horoscope app to post my horoscope. Started doing it recently too.

I rebooted the phone and after that the Facebook app just crashes on launch without any error or anything. I had greenified the app. Uninstalled and installed again. Cleared cache and data. What more do I do

Any ideas please?
Well sounds like your greenify settings are causing the issue. With Facebook installed go back into greenify and remove the settings for Facebook and reboot. Hopefully it will fix the issue.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I did that as well, but to no avail, it just opens and then closes all by itself,
It's the all mighty telling you to finally get off Facebook.
Seriously, is your download coming from the play store or a backup?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
Lol Well I tried everything a backup and a fresh install. Still stuck on the same issue
Freeze or uninstall Greenify, uninstall/ reinstall Facebook, then see if it works.
