Pickle - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Installed CM 10-20120806 after doing a complete wipe of everything. I had CM7 stable version on before the wipe and clean install.
When I go into Rom Manager Premium v5.0.1.1 it shows current recovery is ClockworkMod 5.0.2.2 and when I check for updates or go into Download Rom it only shows stuff for CM7 and not the CM10 which is installed. Can you help me correct this? Also the boot image screen shows CM Mod 9.
Phone; HTC My Touch 4G
ROM; CM10

do you have any other problelms in the functioning of the rom??
the problem is because there must be some error in the rom you just f=have to wait for another release the devs ll release it soon...

[Q] one quick question about rooting mts3g

for installing cm7 do you need cm6 then upgrade to cm7 or you can just get cm7, and also, is cm7 a good build or should i wait until its more stable?
There's already been a Release Candidate for CM7 which is pretty stable, so far it's running wonderfully. It just doesn't have all the features and tweaks of CM6.
As for the first part, no you don't have to have CM6 first. You can just flash CM7.
You don't need CM6 to install CM7. Just make sure you also flash the correct Gapps.zip for the market to work.

Yes it should be gapss-gb-01202011.zip, if you flash an earlier one for froyo you get boot loops.

Did you flash Gapps?
You have to flash the rom, then before you reboot, flash the gapps.zip. Do a wipe and then flash them one after the other.

[Q] How to install the newst Nightly?

Hello
i have RC1 and i want to install the latest Nightly, but with reseting every thing because my rc1 got slow...
if i flash it again and than install cm7 from the begining will it work?
if u r on rc1 then just install the zip from sdcard through custom recovery..no need to wipe anything..u wont loose any data..
but if u want a fresh CM7 without any problem then u can start from the scratch
in recovery i have 3 options:
-latest recovery
-stable r.
-stock r.
which do i need to choose? latest?
use stable recovery to be on safer side..any recovery will work but i always use stable recovery
and what is "scratch" because i want that option because my old rc1 crashed totally so it is not able to boot neither...
will it work if i start everything again from flashing?
i meant to flash the nordic froyo rom and then install CM7 on it..
everything is given in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065798
just follow the instructions
All the best
thx it worked next time i'll use the other version

[Q] PLEASE HELP... cyanogenmod 7 nightly question.

can I just flash the CM7 nightly # or do I have to flash CM7 stable then flash the nightly over it? (I'm coming from a totally different ROM).
You do not need to install CM7 stable. You can go right ahead and flash a nightly. Yet, being that you're coming from a completely different rom, you need to reboot into recovery and wipe EVERYTHING in the wipe menu EXCEPT the SD card and then flash the CM nightly. Be sure to do a nandroid backup of your current setup first in case you don't like CM7.

Used that once and no issues. Try CM7.2 RC 2. It works great.
I don't know if It's not responding or stuck at - obraing IP address. I had this problem before just had to clear the remembered WiFi networks and it started working again. If that doesn't help, the cyanogen mod wiki reported that chaning the Phone's Host Name fixes it. If that doesn't work try wiping cache, if that doesn't work wipe data/cache, if that doesn't work upgrade to the latest cyanogen from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=buzz&type= ! Cheers.
can u pls suggest me stable and advanced version of cm7 and recovery
For Stable Builds, go to http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=buzz. For Nightly Builds, go to http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=buzz. I'd suggest you download the latest of either the Stable or Nightly Builds.
You'd probably need to download the latest CWM recovery from the market but CWM v4 would work. CWM is included in the ROM anyways. After flashing, you'd see it in the App Drawer. Enjoy!
almost all cyanogen versions goes great with wifi. kernels also the same in last versions, so try to reflash RADIO, but be careful, u can brick your phone. i did that in old times, and it worked. used nightlies

CM 10.1 nightlies for E975

Huh. Just noticed the international version of the Optimus G is now officially supported by CM (via nightly builds):
get.cm/?device=e975
Does this mean we may be seeing the unofficial E971/E973 moving more toward the official side?
Edit: typos and grammar.
Sent through the magic of an LG Optimus G (E971) running RootBox 4.2.2.
Ive already tried the nigtly build, unlike the chad's version, official one doesnt work lol
To be honest it works, but screen showing nothing.
Is the CM team and chad working together? Or are these 2 completely different builds?

chad's version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229806
It's very stable and nearly completely full-featured apart from phone, notification LED and some modem issues. I'm running it as my daily driver.
As for what Tim is saying, I'm assuming he wants to say that the official version is less complete than chad's version...
I mean on the nightly one, all i can see is nothing but just black screen.
I just found that tread on Google because I was looking for a working CWM for the E975. Does anybody has experience with that CWM?

Edit: It works .
How's the battery life compared to stock rom?
i do not flash this rom dated April 14 by TWRP, why that?
Folowing Ricardo's post on Google + announcing the official CM10.1 for E975, I said give it a try.
I had installed the ClockworkMod from the Play Store (the premium version), I flashed the CWM touch recovery for E975 (in app payment), booted in recovery and installed the official CM10.1 zip.
Rebooted and... bootloop!
The Cyanogenmod logo was spinning but it would not start.
So I got my first softbrick with E975.
I had to reflash the official kzd, reroot, unlock bootloader.
For now I will stay with the official 4.1.2 stock ROM.
I hope that CM10.1 will work with the TWRP and then I'll give it a try.
Just use FreeGee to unlock, reboot and flash. Works everytime

Did you do a factory reset from recovery? This step is very important otherwise you end with a bootloop. So you just had to reboot in recovery and wipe data or do factory reset and reboot.
The ROM is working 100%. Fully working 13 megapixel camera and very smooth.
The easiest way is:
Use FreeGee from Play Store and free your device (void your warranty)
Download RomManger from Play store and flash CWM recovery. Not TWRP !!!
Put the ROM on your Internal storage Download here: http://get.cm/?device=e975
Put Gapps for jb 4.2.2 (20120301) on internal storage Download here: http://goo.im/gapps
Reboot to recovery (Keep Volume up while rebooting and press the Volume down rocker two times and press Power button)
Select option “install zip from sdcard”
Then select “choose zip from sdcard”
Flash CM10.1 rom.
Flash Gapps package.
Go back to main screen in recovery
Important step !!! - Select FACTORY RESET in Recovery and press Power button - !!!
Reboot into system
Enjoy CM 10.1 on your LG OG E975

I tried myself and it didn't work with TWRP. Wrong device id E975...
Best to read his Google+ Blog. So I found out myself.
After flashing CWM the ROM flashed fine. The ROM works fine. And I have 13 megapixel camera with focus.
Just delete the phone checking from update script
Are there any issues if you dirty flash from an unofficial 10.1 build to the official 10.1 nightly?
Yeah, it stucks at boot logo. For me at least.
Never dirth flash from another rom.
Thats a NO GO
Sent from your moms bed!
There is no reason for dirty flash anyway as you get all settings back from Google right after install? And if you make backups of your data omce in a while you loose nothing.
You should know, that old settings can screw with a new flash aswell. Then you will need to clear the old data from some apps ( like youtube ).
Thats why a total clean flash without saved data ( from google ) is the best
Then its also easier for a dev to find the right bugs, if there are some
