Used that once and no issues. Try CM7.2 RC 2. It works great.
I don't know if It's not responding or stuck at - obraing IP address. I had this problem before just had to clear the remembered WiFi networks and it started working again. If that doesn't help, the cyanogen mod wiki reported that chaning the Phone's Host Name fixes it. If that doesn't work try wiping cache, if that doesn't work wipe data/cache, if that doesn't work upgrade to the latest cyanogen from here: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=buzz&type= ! Cheers.
can u pls suggest me stable and advanced version of cm7 and recovery
For Stable Builds, go to http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=buzz. For Nightly Builds, go to http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=buzz. I'd suggest you download the latest of either the Stable or Nightly Builds.
You'd probably need to download the latest CWM recovery from the market but CWM v4 would work. CWM is included in the ROM anyways. After flashing, you'd see it in the App Drawer. Enjoy!
almost all cyanogen versions goes great with wifi. kernels also the same in last versions, so try to reflash RADIO, but be careful, u can brick your phone. i did that in old times, and it worked. used nightlies

hi
this rom is great but wifi doesn't work
how i can solve this problem
I'm also running cm beta 8 but wifi is working fine for me.
How did you install? Did you do a full wipe?
I did a full wipe, flashed the cm zip file, gapps and also the .19 radio and matching ril (I also flashed Virtuous OC and keyboard extension, but doubt that they have any bearing on wifi) If you're coming from a different radio version you should also flash Guhl's vision wipe. After that I restored apps and data from a Ti Backup and had one or two minor app issues, but was able to resolve those through the play store. Camera flash didn't work at first either but that was fixed by changing the permissions as reported in another thread
So far, so good. It's fast, smooth and responsive. (I flashed from Andromadus Beta 4 but that seemed to be laggy by comparison)
Sent from my HTC Vision running CM9 Beta 8 using XDA
I was also having the wifi and tethering problem. I did a wipe of system, dalvik cache, and factory reset. I reloaded CM7rc1 and it worked fine. but....
I can use all functions normally until I upgrade the playstore app and then it kills the wifi and tethering. I have tried CM9 beta 9 and the most up to date google apps but I get the same response. I have also tried Mexdriod with the same results.
I can make all things work by upgrading all apps and using titanium to save them. Then I can superwipe the system and reload a rom from a previous backup without the new playstore. Then just a simple restore from titanium to put the updated apps back.
I know its a pain but its the only way I can get it to work. If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
thank for help
blease tell me step by step that what do i do until i can solve this problem
I've been trying out multiple ICS ROMS for my R800x (FXP, AOKP, CM9, PlAyOPS and maybe something else, I've lost track) and I can only get the WiFi to turn on with PlAyOPS ROM. It's not a connection issue, I cannot actually get the WiFi to switch on, the slider is grayed out and it won't even slide over to the on position. I've tried the WiFi fix zips that are brought up on the ROM specific threads to no avail. I think I've tried every kernal/ROM/WiFi fix combination that I've come across. I'm currently using Keiran's 2.6.32.9 Darkforest kernal but I have also tried the FXP kernal and the LuPus v3 kernal.
The reason I'm not just sticking to the PlAy OPS ROM is that I use the bluetooth audio feature quite frequently in both my cars and it doesn't work correctly on PlAyOPS. I was able to get the bluetooth audio to work on FXP and, if I remember correctly CM9. I haven't tried bluetooth audio on AOKP yet. If I could get the WiFi to work on either of these ROMS I would be extremely happy.
I've been searching the internet and scouring this forum for a fix for my issue for nearly a month but I cannot find a solution for my specific problem. I greatly appreciate any assistance!

ok. thanks. Just as a clarification to the first part of the original response, I am installing the original stock kernel after i flash back to the stock ROM?
well, i went back to stock, flashed the kernal, wiped all my data, flashed the FXP kernal then re-installed FXP with no luck. I tried flashing the wifi zips after than without success. i guess i'm stuck with what i have unless there's something else i could try.

i used FXP 132. I know it's not the latest but I'm sure that it was when I downloaded it a month ago. The zips were cleverly named wififix2, WiFi_FiX_LuPuSv3 and the other was CDMA_mega_fix_v2_by_Leraeniesh. The last one had a WiFi fix in it by Atarii or someone like that.
had the same problem on my play (GSM version) here is what i did. and im sure it will work for you. flash the latest FTF for your device (Baseband).
when done Put the CM 9 Kernal on the phone. Boot in to recovery. do a factory reset. flash the CM 9 reboot and you are good to go.

i've done that twice now. this has been extremely frustrating. i don't know why the wifi will work without fail on one ROM but not work at all on others.
just to make sure i'm doing this correctly. After I flash the original FTF am I flashing the CM9 kernel directly after that? Do I have to restore the original kernel at all?
Speaking of wifi problem I cant get wifi to work on GB tweaked running doomkernel V2.....odd.

i think you have to flash doomlords wifi modules in recovery. it's what worked for me when i was using that rom.

Do you mean these stock rooted images? Those can't be flashed with CWM - you need to use Odin to do so.
On a side note, did you remember to flash gapps when flashing whatever 4.2 ROM you were using? If not, that would be why Gmail and the like suddenly ceased to exist.
i did up the date through the cm updater so i never thought i had to
If I remember correctly, CM's built-in updater doesn't handle gapps at all - it's something you need to deal with yourself.
ohh so um just wondering where i can get the gaaps package ??and do i use ODIN to flash it on then?
gapps packages can be found here, generally, though it might be easier to - for example - install goomanager so as to more easily find out which is the right package for your particular ROM and version (the latest for 4.2-based ROMs at time of writing, for example, is this one). They are recovery-flashed (so you would use CWM to flash it if that's the recover you're using).
So I installed the latest build of cm 10.1 and the gaaps but I can't use data unless my WiFi is on..any suggestions??

There have been some hiccups with 4.2-based builds (CM 10.1 is one of them) and mobile data. Some of the things that have been suggested:
Reflashing the modem (those are available here); in particular, by following the instructions here;
Toggling your APN settings; and/or
Checking the network type setting in Settings -> More... -> Mobile networks and/or in the Phone info menu available from dialing *#*#4636#*#*.
(By the way, since you seem to be newer around here: it's considered polite around these parts to hit the "Thanks" button on posts that you find useful.)
Hello guys i'm very new to SGS2 T-989 ...and recently got this 2 year old t-mobile sgh t989 ...and it worked fine for few day..till i trid cm11 as first custom rom on it..it too worked well until i used camera...it rebooted itself ...i thought it was because cm11 is nightly ..so i tried carbon rom ...it worked quit fine for a while......for some reson it to started rebooting after a while ..lastly i tried cm10.2 stable ...it worked quite good i updated with cm updater then after it worked good and affter a while it too strted rebooting ...i thaught of power button failure and replaced it too....and finally flashed stock JB 4.1.2 rom ...it works quite well even till now..but the problem is that i cant install custom roms on it ...any help would be honey in my throught...does any one have the issue...???.....................finally got to tell i'm new to this mobile not for customization of roms ..i tried every thing wipe/data/F.Reset/Delvik/System...and even trie super/dark wipe script too.....hmm the matter is unable to install custom roms/////
What recovery are you using? (latest is 2.8.1.0) get it here! Flashable .zip HereWich Gapps? . . . Stock 4.1.2 have some firmware upgrades so maybe you're good to go now if not you might want to try installing stock via Odin (kill any Kies process before using Odin). Find stock rom Here! You will need to register to dwl. Ooh and dont use darkside wipes scripts as they are outdated, you can/will brick your phone. Just wipe system, data, cache, dalvik and .android_secure
I'm using cwm 6.0.4.3 ...and I flashed stock rom the latest ...I have root and cwm backup too...stock rom works completely perfect ....prblm is with custom roms..
Keep a copy of cmw and your backups just in case and try flashing using twrp. Also read this thread , "Have you ever used odin to flash the factory 4.1.2 UVMC6 rom? Some driver stuff was updated in that version and can only be installed with odin."
I've used odin 3.0.7 to falsh stock t989 latest jb 4.1 ...stock rom works 100%....problem is with 4.2+ roms
Ok was just to be sure its not that.. did you try flashing with twrp??
Also what scheduler/governor are you using? I use sio/samsung (personnal choice) (stable, decent battery life, good performance) found out that some combinaisons crash the phone (reboot)
Just now installed twrp that u mentioned and took a backup....now I will try the cus rom process and tell u the result ...hoping this eleminates my problem...and one more thing...im just using stock rooted rom..had not done any changes with cpu governence...and have a decent battery..
Only problem is with KK and 4.3 Roms
I've changed the rrecovery to twrp latest and tried installing from CM9 worked ,
CM 10.1 even worked [4.2.2] :good: [camera crashes while using flash]
Tried 10.2 had bootloops.....whats wrong with 4.3+...help :crying:
Glad to hear that
Camera is known to crash when using the flash and battery is low.
About 10.2 idk .. maybe it has to do with CM itself (search in CM threads). Try some other roms/kernels combinaison. as long as you have a backup of a working setup you should be good. Personnaly i really liked hellkat w/diablo kernel (4.4.2) and Beanstalk w/wildkernel (4.4.4) but as they say , your mileage may vary.
K that's very helpful and ..tnx for ur sugession
Hi everyone,
Today I installed the new CM12 nightlies, after rebooting my HTC one m8 it showed me a popup message that google play services stopped working. I also couldnt launch particular apps. So after looking for a solution I tried reinstalling Gapps hoping this would solve the problem.
I downloaded the minimal Gapps ZIP file and flashed it using TWRP recovery, after I wiped the cache and dalvik cache. Once rebooted I started to get the anoying pop up notifications '' Gmail stopped working'' and ''youtube stopped working''. These two messages won't go away and makes my phone unusable. I think the reason why these messages keep popping up is because i flashed the minimal version of Gapps so I downloaded the normal version of Gapps on my computer since my phone isnt accesable because of the pop-up notifications that won't go away. What I did next was plug in my phone to my computer and moved Gapps L-3-14-15.zip to my SD card and installed it again. I also wiped the cache and dalvik cache. after I did a reboot and everything seemed fine for the first 20 seconds... It didnt last long. Im still having the same problem as before Gmail and youtube has stopped working. Do any of you know how to fix this without doing a system recovery?
Thanks in advance

Cyanagonmod 12.1

TWRP
S-on (don't know if this is relevant)

To me it sounds like you installed a gapps 5.0 package not a 5.1 package. With the CM Nightly you need to make sure you're using an updated gapps package designed for android 5.1+.
I always use a minimal gapps package but usually CM has a link available on their page. Double check that you're installing a gapps 5.1 package. I am currently running the 5.1 nightlies and they're great thus far... 4/20 and 4/19 are both confirmable as working on my end. Good luck.
To correct Wipe /data /system /cache and dalvik reinstall the nightly and flash a 5.1 gapps package.

I guess the minimal Gapps package that I first installed wasnt for 5.1
In order to get rid of the pop up notifications I started my phone in safe mode. This worked and I saw there was a new update for cm12.1 after the update finished and I booted up my phone the pop up notification werent there anymore but google play services was also uninstalled. What I did next was installing the newest google play services pack. After it was done I installed the 5.1 Gapps version on my phone and now everything seems working fine again. I did get some notifications that an app such as chrome stopped working but a simple reinstal of the app fixed the problem. Somehow the apps that I moved to my external SD card arent here anymore but im glad I didnt have to do a factory reset.
Thanks for your help

every time i update my cm12 nightlies it has its own recovery (cyanogen recovery) but my zip files are not working with that recovery. (ex. cmzip.gapps, and kernels). for my device it works on PhilZ touch recovery. so the tendency is i have to flash fastboot boot.img(philz touch)again and again.
using Thunderzap kernel 4.15 im stock on bootloop.
running cm12.1 nightlies (4/20/15)
also gapps not compatible.

I use twrp and I've not had any issues with a cm recovery replacing twrp. On the 420 nightly I don't even see a recovery.img in the cm zip so I'm assuming you're updating via cm itself. I think there's a setting in there to choose to update cm recovery or not.
To flash Phillz recovery you're syntax would be "fastboot flash recovery recoveryimgname.img" the boot.img is your kernel. I'm not sure how many aosp 5.1 kernels the m8 has but I've not really been able to find any so I just use the cm one.
To correct your issues I would flash twrp 2.8.6 via fastboot flash recovery. Wipe everything from recovery (cache data dalvik system) and reinstall. If it was me I'd update cm via zip from now on if it was causing me these issues. Good luck

Everything seemed working fine again until 30 min. ago...
I got the notification chrome has stopped working. (Haven't had this message all the morning and chrome worked just fine.)
I restarted my phone and the first thing I noticed was that some of my apps have disapeared from my home screen, they are still in the app tray tho. Also my keyboard input mode has been set back to AOSP while normaly I use Swiftkey keyboard as my standard input. Chrome was still pushing me not working notification so I reinstalled chrome and now it works fine again. Not sure for how many time...
Its kinda anoying but maybe tonights nightlies will solve the problem somehow. If not, do you have any sugestions how to fix this?

Yeah I mean nightlys merge with code that it's being worked on and may break or fix certain things. Nightly builds may be perfect or they may not even boot. You kind of have to just flash them and see. Cm is very generic coding and depending on your carrier may not have the non open source vendor blobs necessary to make, say, your speakers work properly. It really depends. I don't believe Verizon had released their kernel source for lollipop so sometimes downgrading firmware to known source (ie 4.4.4) may help alleviate connectivity issues with Wi-Fi and things of that sort. Team UBs build and lollipop dream 5.0.2 have been my go tos as of late. The lollipop dream build is the smoothest running cm build I've ever used even on nexus devices. Very well made.
