OP Update: 5/12/2013
Happy Summer Time! I want to get back to working on making softkey icons. These buttons are an integral part of my Nexus experience, and I believe that they are for many others.
Since many ROMs (or at least the ones I use) have softkey customization settings built in, I will only be sharing links to the raw .png files to be manually applied, rather than creating flashable zips (like I used to). I feel that it is easier for both me AND you.
I am only linking one set of colors, but if you would like a custom color to be made in a specific icon-set, just let me know.

OP Updated with new goodies
Good stuff. Always appreciate new nav bar tweaks
I believe, going forward, I am no longer going to make flashable zips standard. We will soon be able to have up to 7 soft keys, and with that addition, users will be using them for a wide variety of things. Since it isn't feasible to make flashable zips for every single icon set AND icon configuration, I am just going to release the images. Its better to manually apply them anyway I suppose if someone really wanted, I could still do flashable zips on a per-request basis. Now to make icons for popular apps that match the sets I've already made. What would you all like to see?
I plan on making:
Phone
Messaging
Contacts
Camera
Any other apps that you could foresee being popular to be placed in the navbar?
I was looking for customized nav keys for the rasjelly rom. Would it be possible to make some red keys in this order: back-home-search-menu, or are you only doing stuff for AOKP builds?

I can do that. I'm assuming that rasjelly doesn't have the feature to manually replace the icons, and you'll need a flashable zip file, right? What sort of icons are you looking for? Just the stock, but red?
I like both your rigid and scribble, but in red obviously.
And yes, rasjelly is like a slightly tweaked stock rom so there's no built in features to customize the nav buttons, can't change color, layout, or button type. Flashable zip would be great! Thank you!

Well AOKP is a different rom. These flashable zips are only tested on AOKP, and will probably break something if you flash them over AR. Does your rom have the feature to manually select the soft key icons?

Hi Guys,
Made a few different SystemUI mods. I thought it would be easier to have them all in one place and not dotted all over the ROM thread.
These mods may break stuff as the SystemUI.apk was pulled from a different ROM. So please do a nandroid before flashing just in case as I will accept no responsibility if your phone breaks. But I have tested them all and they should be fine.
All of the zips also install the HTC Task Manager app.
Also these mods are not approved by the Virtuous Dev Team so if you have problems with the rom please don't report bugs until you have flashed back to the stock virtuous notification bar.
Unlike the mods I posted in the Virtuous 2.0 thread these should have the all the stock notification icons. If I have missed something please let me know.
These mods will not change your battery icons to the one in the screenshot, that is my personal mod and is not included in the zip.

Hi,
how do you get slider at brightness settings? I try flash your files but i don't have it .
Should work have turned auto brightness off?
Of the mod didn't work at all, try mounting system in recovery before flashing and don't use rom manager to flash.
Yes, auto is off but nothing. Isn't big problem but would be nice if its work - one less widget on my homescreen .

Hello,
The title says it all......
I currently am running Android Revolution HD with the transparent soft key mods installed, along with some custom soft key icons that I made...
I can't stand the plain black behind the soft keys (while on the home screen), so I use the transparent soft key mod and then I add a dock to my wallpaper so it makes it look like I have a new background behind my softkeys.
This is my current set-up:

}
Here is where the problem lies -
I really want to switch to one of these AOSP roms for the addition of all the customization options, and power menus and all of that. But the transparent soft key mods that I was using, won't work with AOSP roms. Ive tried and tried, they just break the SystemUI and make the phone unusable until I restore my backup.
Im not sure why the mod doesn't work on these AOSP roms. I think it has something to do with how they modded the SystemUI to be able to customize colors and stuff right from the new rom, but whatever the reason, I can't use the transparent mod on these roms... but I can't stand the black background behind the softkeys while im on my home screen.
I have done a few mods myself, but mostly image edits/swaps and very basic codes. Im not good enough at it to figure this one out. Somebody should make a transparent soft key mod that works with these AOSP roms, or maybe incorporate a transparency option into the rom's settings. That would be really awesome.
I agree i will keep watch on this post!!

While your in an app or anything like the like the app drawer etc... it reverts back to the black background... which is perfect for me... the home screen remains transparent and then it goes black on anything else.
It just sucks so bad, because I want a new AOSP rom so bad, but I can't live with the plain black on my home screen.

Thats strange, the transparent soft key mods worked on Android Rev Hd, an a few other roms, but every rom that I have tried that said "AOSP" in the title, the transparency mod broke the SystemUI. I wonder why, I really wish I could get this working with some of these newer roms....
I think it's not AOKP oder AOSP or something
Android Rev HD is based on Android 4.0.2 and nearly every other ROM is based on 4.0.3. Somewhere there is the cause for the problem, I think.

I tried both yours and fatsix on rootzwiki and I keep losing both my nav and status bars every time despite me using the correct zip. I even tried to decompile my own systemui and do that and ended with the same result. I'm hoping AOKP can add this soon as an option because I really just cant seem to get this working right.
also above poster, do yourself a favor and please just learn to search forums, its right in plain sight on rootzwiki under galaxy nexus, CDMA, Themes/mods, [MOD] Transparent nav/status bar.

I was just looking for a dark and good looking JB Keyboard,
but I couldn't find a simple dark keyboard as I had found for my ICS.
So I just copied the conted of the drawable-xhdpi folder from my
ICS-Dark-Keyboard to the drawable-xhdpi folder of the JB-Stock-Keyboard and the AOSP/AOKP Stock Keyboard.
So the theming-credit goes to someone else I don't know by name, but I realy love this stock looking dark keyboard.
My contribution is only the idea to put it into a 4.2 Keyboard APK and make the flashable ZIP
hope you like it, have fun guys!
in some cases it can cause Keyboard FCs so Backup before!
if you've played with your DPI it could happen that you will not see any changes because this Keyboard is JUST for XHDPI (320DPI)
Check your Keyboard APK Name and ROM-Type before you download and flash!
Download flashable ZIP
(pick your fitting version from my Google Drive )
Outdated 4.1 Version:
LatinIME.apk for AOSP Androids
LatinImeGoogle.apk for Stock Androids
Do it yourself way for every ROM and everyone who can use a ZIP Tool:
Code:
- Download res.zip from my Googledrive
- extract your ROMs Keyboard file (LatinIME.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, no matter wich one you have) using a Root Explorer
- copy your keyboard file to a PC
- open your Keyboard file with 7-zip (open Source)
- go to res/drawable-xhdpi and drag&drop all the files from the res.zip's drawable-xhdpi folder you've downloaded
- put back the changed keyboard APK to your phone, copy it to system/app and don't forget to change the permissions to what it was before
Thats all, no magic required!
Thanks !
No problem!
if someone is going to use this keyboard in his ROM or THEME feel free to do, I don't care. :victory:
have fun guys

Background is pure black and the key's just slightly visible.

I just tried this on ParanoidAndroid 1.8 and it didn't take, is it the same for anyone else?

Seems that your ROM uses another Keyboard APK Name. So this ZIP doesn't replace it, it just add the skinned Keyboard to your System/App folder.
If you want to have just the skinned keyboard you simply take a look to system/app and find out what the old name of your Keyboard apk was.
Then delete the Old one and change the name of the LatinIMEgoogle.apk to the name of the old one.
Works perfectly fine on Xenon HD ROM.

Hi! As most of you probably know, Rascarlo has recently released his new rom, RasBeanJelly. While I really like this rom, I don't really like the blue system icons used in most parts of the software. As such I made some small changes to my liking and I decided to post it here in case anyone else would like to use it. Apart from the normal WhiteMod, I will also be releasing a more themed version called WhiteMod+. This version will incluse more white themed elements of the interface, and more will be added with updates. With regards to updates for the normal WhiteMod I will only be updating it to the latest builds as it's aim is to only remove the blue icons. Due to a number of requests, I will also be making a version for Toro devices. However I will only be making the normal WhiteMod (not +) due to time restrictions.
Mod Features
White Mod
White Notification Bar Power Widget Icons
White Settings System Icons
White Icons in Power Menu
White Mod+
All features of the normal WhiteMod
White Battery
White Signal and WiFi levels
Rest of the statusbar icons themed to white
White Mod++
All features of the normal WhiteMod+
Centre Clock

If you want I can make it for you once I arrive back home however its simple to do and you can.do it yourself if you don't wish to wait. Just extract the SystemUI from your Rom using 7zip or winRar, navigate to res/drawable-xhdpi, then find the H icon and rename it to the name the 4G icon has, and vice versa. So in the end you should have renamed icons with each others' names (there should be 2 H icons and 2 4G icons). Finally open the original systemui from the Rom and replace the 4 images you renamed with the ones in the original archive. Hope this helps

Instructions:
just flash the zip with recovery. make sure to make a backup before flashing.
Change log:
v1.0
- initial version of eXperiaNce Red theme
v.1.1
- red color to data usage, storage usage and ram usage bars
- fixed alarm label dialog (all white now with black button text)
- call button changed to green with white icon on dialer (if you don't like this, just remove it from the zip)
- might have fixed some other things as well but i forgot anything more
Download:
v.1.1
v.1.0
Known bugs:
- It still has the same non-themed parts as my white mod in settings app, i'll fix them if i can...
- SystemUI is themed as well, some apps might have their own notification settings which can conflict with the theme.
There are more versions to come including different colors, icons in the future. Also some more apps might be added to the theme.

Disclaimer:
THIS IS FOR 4.4.2 STOCK - but might work on older/other 4.4 roms as well. Do this on your own risk, i'm not responsible for any damage you do by applying this mod. CREATE A BACKUP before flashing!
Please don't mirror the file, i wanna keep a counter on them to see how many downloads this gets. thanks for the understanding.
if you like these themes, feel free to buy me a beer (though i don't drink beer )

I'd like to say thanks to Desno365 as well for the help.
A big thanks flies out to alen1901 as well for his help!

Thanks dude!
You're welcome. Oh, the zip should remove the odex files, so it's both for odexed or deodexed roms

yeah, it's basically based on that, you don't have to go back to stock before flashing this if you're coming from my previous theme.
Really nice theme using it on my XL Z1 Rom and it looks amazing.
Thnx, worked a lot on it

Nice work mate. keep it up. Just one thing. In framework, drawable-nodpi, there is background_holo_light.png, color it with f1f1f1 color. Its holo white color used in google plus. Now you use stock one which has transition, and it makes it to really look bad.

Your settings background image. It has a color transition from whiter white to darker white, like stock background has transition from gray to black. My suggestion is to color that background with f1f1f1 color so it doesnt have that ugly transition. Its a subtile change but a better one. f1f1f1 is holo white color used by google in google plus. And it look better then stock one which google included in framework. This is just a tip.
