Xoom car Dashboard Mount?

anyone know where to buy Xoom car Dashboard Mount? my friend told me can;t use Windshield Mount in California. i alrealy buy

If you can't use windscreen suction mount, than have you looked into Brodit holder mounted on ProClip? Keep in mind that most ProClips are designed for mobile phones, thus it may end up blocking instruments, vent, radio and so on as Xoom is much larger device.

Car dock that fits on 17mm ball mount (Garmin size ball mount)

I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the GS3 or universal car docks fit on a 17mm ball mount. This is the same size that some Garmin mounts use, and was also used with the T-Mobile G2X. I have a couple nice car mounts that I can use if I find a corresponding dock.

I saw that one, but I don't want to use a case. I will check how it works with the Nuvi mount I have just in case it does work.

Now that is an interesting piece. I'll keep it in mind.
What I'm working with is I just recently bought another Pro-Clip set for my G2x and my new car. Since I have a G2x dock that fits on the 17mm ball mount I just bought another Nuvi mount from Pro-Clip. An adapter from the ball mount to something else will mean there's four pieces involved, and that's a bit much. I could return the new ball mount and get a GS3 mount from Pro-Clip but I'll have to eat the shipping on that.

I didn't see that Arkon mount the first time I read your post. I'm ordering one now, thanks. I think it'll work nicely.

I got my Arkon mount yesterday and tried it out. I used one set of the extended legs and it holds the phone quite tightly and it mounts perfectly to my Garmin mounts. Thanks for the recommendation vw671.

So does this part (I guess Arkon SM511 / IPM511) come with a 17mm socket ? which we can use with the garmin ball mounts ?
I understand you bought this part removed the clip and used it with your existing/old 17mm ball mount...

I'll see if I can describe this accurately, you do have to be a bit careful. It seems that Arkon mounts are sold as a combination of 3 main pieces. There's the black back with the grips, the phone dock, that's part of every mount, some come with extended grips and some might not. For the S3 you need at least one pair of extended grips.
The second part is a bracket that slides into slots on back of the phone mount and has a 17mm socket on it. The third part is whatever mount your car needs, suction cup mount, air vent, or various other options. That has a 17mm ball on it.
I have seen some Arkon mounts for sale that appear to not have the socket portion. I bought a full kit with the suction cup mount.
This one shows a good view of the parts. On the suction cup mount is the clip that attaches to the back of the phone dock, that is needed. That one doesn't appear to come with the extended grips, so I wouldn't buy that one, but it does give you an idea of the parts.
I believe some Arkon mounts, which still use the same phone dock, forgo the ball mount and instead use a mount that attaches directly to the back of the phone dock.

Searching for a new car mount. Any Suggestions?

The ibolt car dock is great. Works with or without a case. Does not work with the defender.

i have the arkon car mount (the one with mega grip) it fits on the garmin ball mount so it's prefect for me. amazon sells it for 13 bucks or so...

Just got the imagnet on Amazon and I'm loving it so far. Holds great even off road and works with my uag case.

There are many choices for you here http://dx.com/s/car+mount . pls read the review before you decide which one to buy. Hope it'll help you find a suitable one.

mount tek cd mount it works on some cars, no need for suction cups and half of us ditch the cd players at this point.

How thick are the adhesive plates protruding from the case? can you post a pic?

Its about 5 sheets of copier paper. Very thin. A lot thinner than a credit card.

I've been using the iOttie one touch mount. There's a newer one that just came out called the Easy Flex 2 but I've been using the original one called Easy One Touch. Best car mount I've used. There's a button on the dock plate that when pushed in the 2 arms grab onto the phone and it's pretty secure. To remove it just squeeze the 2 buttons on the side of the mount and the arms open up and the phone pops out.
It's not a powered dock so you have to plug in your adapter straight into the phone. Most times if my phone is fully charged I don't plug it in and it's a very clean look.
I keep an NFC sticker by the dock to turn on GPS and car mode so with this mount everything is just so quick. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions.

I just bought this too, haven't got it yet, but it looks like a nice mount for sure.

I found a cheaper version of the clingo mount http://dx.com/p/long-tube-car-stand-holder-for-iphone-samsung-htc-blackberry-black-156661 and ordered it to give it a try. Hopefully it'll be as sticky as the original and works with any case with smooth surface.

This one probably can't. Proclip makes custom holder that are snug fit for specific model. If you want mount your phone with case you should look for adjustable holders, like this one
