Contact and Email app from CM - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hi,
I was using the CM room for a while, but returned to stock due to a few bugs, however, I cannot live without the CM email and contacts app with the white background. Is there a way to have them in stock?
Thank you!

Have you tried chris' latest cm builds? About as stable as stable can get

[Q] CM9 Alpha6 or most recent nightly?

So given a few issues with the Blazer ICS ROM (wifi disconnects and Exchange email problems) I'm likely going to move to CM9 Alpha6 but am wondering which build I should download. I assume the most stable will be the straight up Alpha6 build, but would it be better to start with the most recent nightly build to get the fixes since Alpha6?
Thanks for the feedback.
I'd say go with the nightlies. They get better every day and now the hackbridge tweaks has its own app.

I assume this is what you're referring to? And does the build date from this app need to match the CM9 nightly?

CM 7.2 RC2 (stable) data loss

Hello there!
I have this little problem with the Cyanogenmod 7.2:
When I reboot my phone the following things change:
-the selected theme partly changes back (it means that the icon colours stay, but te analog clock and the notifications bar changes)
-my facebook account disappears and I loose my synced contacts and contact images.
Is there any way to fix it?
Regards,
Robi54321
Try CM 7.2 Final
I didn't find such a thing, I have the latest stable version from the Cyanogenmod website

You have written CM 7.2 RC2 (rc stands for release candidate, or testing phase roms).
Here you will find the stable CM 7.2 (not RC):
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=ace
Yeah I have written it wrong, that's what I have. But it happened only once. Probably I deleted the data or cache or messed up something, it's working now perfectly.

Cm10 or aokp help deciding and what versions to flash

So I am thinking of flashing an aosp rom and I am down to cm10 or aokp. Have a few questions since I am back new to rooting and flashing:
-which is more stable? I need a reliable camera and I saw there were bugs with the camera in some versions. I want a daily driver, not a nightly with bugs.
-features and themes. I know cm10 has tons of themes in the market, is aokp the same?
-gapps : do I flash the same gapps file for both of them?
-any other bugs or advantages of one over the other?
Thanks in advance

Aokp has more features than CM10 as its just bare boned aosp. AOKP ride on cm source, so any bug in CM will be present in AOKP. Flash the same gapps....the last is preference. Both are stable, unless you flash cm10.1, which has bugs.

task650 actually pointed out AOKP is based off Google source, not CM....minor clarification
And 10.1 is actually pretty stable. Camera now works and I am using it as a daily driver now. Aokp would use an older gapps than cm10.1 as it is not built off of 4.2 yet.
I am running CM10 stable release from November and I haven't had one issue. I have the the 4.2 apps installed and I love them photosphere and the keyboard are awesome. Only one single problem if you install the 4.2 apps make sure your camera is focused all the way before taking a photo or you have to reboot your phone to use the camera app again because it locks the camera app. But who would want an out of focus picture anyway. Its funny it actually helps me take better photos. Other than that not a single problem with the ROM or apps. I have the ThyrusHolo Black theme from the Play Store installed and it looks great if you like black and holo. I very little about AOKP but I know I don't want to leave CM10 at all. But I suggest running each one for a week top get a good Ferrell for each and see which one you like better.

CM 10.1 review galaxy nexus gsm

Not sure if there is a thread already out there, but I was thinking about flashing CM 10.1 nightly. I was wondering if it stable enough for a daily driver and if there is any issues anyone is experiencing.
Also, does CM 10.1 offer RenderFX ?
I'm using it right now, it is stable and I didn't notice any bugs since I flashed it last week, but I didn't like Apollo music player so I froze it from settings and got Google Play Music from the Play Store, and no RenderFX or the option to disable screen-off animation (yet) but it's not the final version so you can expect to see all the features from CM10 added to 10.1 eventually.
If you don't want to download 150+ MB every day then the app "CyanDelta" is a must have, it's free and it offers smaller downloads (around 10MB) and it's safe to use.
I'm using Franco's kernel r361 and getting the same battery life (if not better) I had on stock 4.2.1 and no SoD so far (only happened once on stock anyway)

Thanks for the quick review. Think I might wait till the final version is out or at least RenderFX ( loved that feature at night) is available.
I am finding a lot of issues with the Bluetooth staying connected or not turning off with the stock 4.2.1 ROM. Finding it very annoying.
Using CM 10.1 Nightly 2013/01/14 no issues so far with LeanKernel and InteractiveX CPU governor. Good battery life with a lot of background services (Facebook, Cerberusy, WhatsApp, and so on).
The only problem I have found is that the quiet mode doesn't work with WhatsApp: I can always hear notification sound even if it was disabled in quiet options. Plus another bug for me is that quickly panel for enable/disable 3G data is not working (leaves 3G data always enabled).
But apart from minor bugs I would suggest to flash the CM 10.1 Nightly. I've never used any Rom other than stock...

I have always been a fan of CM, use to have it on my nexus one. Now I am using the galaxy nexus and the stock rom just doesn't offer everything I want. BTW how is the battery life with the kernel that comes with the cm 10.1 nightly. I have never flashed a kernel before.
I'm using CM10.1 with the CM kernel and it's absolutely fine for my use, more than happy with it

That's good.
The stock ROM gives me about a days usage, how long does the cm10.1 ROM give you battery life for ?

Your honor, I object! Such a personal issue shouldn't be allowed in a discussion of this importance.

I am using CM 10.1 HumberOS builds with his kernel and I got about 5 hours screen on time with no SOD or any bugs.

Using 10.1 for about a day now. Came from stock 4.2.1. I love 10.1... it's a great mix of lock screen options from 10.0 and all the new features of 10.1. I hate the 4.2.1 lock screen, but a recent update in 10.1 has made it capable of looking/acting very much like 4.1.2 or 10.0. No regrets here. And no issues to report.

The 3G quick panel toggle works for me.
But I have another strange bug, the keyboard only suggests custom words, if there is no custom words in my dictionary then the suggestions bar is always empty when i type a space after a word, tried clearing data of the keyboard app but still the same

That isn't too bad. What is a SOD? sorry, never heard it used before in a forum.

SOD = screen of death
That's mean the device is still running and there are symptoms like vibration or ringing but the screen do not wake when you press the power button.

Hi
I am thinking of flashing to CM 10.1 any advice anyone would recommend. I am only on the stock version and would to tweak and play around. Any help would be more than appreciated.
Thanks:laugh:
I have been on cm10.1 since the nightlies were released, and I flash updates regularly.
Haven't had any problems, and the battery time is great. I have no problems getting through a day with normal use.

[Q] JSS15Q based CM 10.2 nightlies?

Anyone know if today's nightly is based on JSS15Q? Just ran into the multi-touch issue once again. Can't get myself to go back to stock though. My N7 is customized just perfectly right now...

Wait for them to merge the android_r2.2 branch from Google's AOSP code.
