So I am thinking of flashing an aosp rom and I am down to cm10 or aokp. Have a few questions since I am back new to rooting and flashing:
-which is more stable? I need a reliable camera and I saw there were bugs with the camera in some versions. I want a daily driver, not a nightly with bugs.
-features and themes. I know cm10 has tons of themes in the market, is aokp the same?
-gapps : do I flash the same gapps file for both of them?
-any other bugs or advantages of one over the other?
Thanks in advance

Aokp has more features than CM10 as its just bare boned aosp. AOKP ride on cm source, so any bug in CM will be present in AOKP. Flash the same gapps....the last is preference. Both are stable, unless you flash cm10.1, which has bugs.

task650 actually pointed out AOKP is based off Google source, not CM....minor clarification
And 10.1 is actually pretty stable. Camera now works and I am using it as a daily driver now. Aokp would use an older gapps than cm10.1 as it is not built off of 4.2 yet.
I am running CM10 stable release from November and I haven't had one issue. I have the the 4.2 apps installed and I love them photosphere and the keyboard are awesome. Only one single problem if you install the 4.2 apps make sure your camera is focused all the way before taking a photo or you have to reboot your phone to use the camera app again because it locks the camera app. But who would want an out of focus picture anyway. Its funny it actually helps me take better photos. Other than that not a single problem with the ROM or apps. I have the ThyrusHolo Black theme from the Play Store installed and it looks great if you like black and holo. I very little about AOKP but I know I don't want to leave CM10 at all. But I suggest running each one for a week top get a good Ferrell for each and see which one you like better.

Im Currently On CleanGB MTD ROM And I Want To Finally Move To A CyanogenMod Rom. Wondering Witch One Is More Stable And Witch One Do Everyone Prefer?
Thanks
I find both are equally stable, I haven't had a single issue with either. CM9 is incredible, however. Better battery life with CM7 though.
Kind of apples and oranges kind of thing since 1 is GB based and the other is ICS based. I prefer CM9.

I Know ICS Is The Newest Firmware Verison And Alot Of Developers Are Working Around That So I'll Check Out CM9 First...Is There Another ROM Based Off ICS I Should Check Out Or Should I Stick With CM9 Before Exploring Any Other Roms...
They're both on par with stability. However, Cm9 will be more draining on your battery when you actually use the phone, as each app is given 8mb of memory for hw acceleration. Not sure if that's been tweaked. But CM9 is what's poppin and worked on. If you want the latest, CM9, if you're a geek who's crazy over battery in Cyanogenmod roms, CM7. Both last fairly if you don't use data and let it go in deep sleep, it's your call as we all use our Epics differently and are all occupied with our phones in various ways.

I personally like 9 a lot better. the look is a lot of fun and the themes that are out for it are really done very well. i reccomend getting cm9 beta1 and I know you didn't ask about themes but the purple theme for cm9 is really cool. it's fully themed and everything is done so perfect! it's a must if you like purple.

Start with CM9. Set it up the way you like. Get the feel of all the new settings and get your apps set up. Don't forget to flash the gapps with the install. Then you make a nandroid of your working setup and try other ICS based stuff like AOKP.

As I said... The feature recently included that allows you to add total of 5 icons to that bottom touch area and change their icons.. Can it be used in other ROMs via some patch?
It can be kanged with permission yes.
But its not just a simple patch. Needs building into a rom

Are there any ROMs that already HAVE this? That is what I was looking for.
Yep.
It's called AOKP.
=]
AOKP has bugs. I hate bugs.
Any other?
There are no bugs in AOKP... what in particular do you have problems with? Regardless... you can check out Axi0m Patient Zero, it is based on AOKP but has everything working perfectly.

Maybe you need a refresher on how to flash a rom, friend.
AOKP is consistently bug free.
Build 29/30 were 4.0.4 merge tests basically.
31 is back up to bug-free.
has anyone tried both cm10 and jb aokp previews?
it would be great to know what the main features of each rom are as of now.

Is too early at this point to say which is better or which has better features. Both are very very young projects.
Boths looks like the same features, but personally i prefer AOKP because it has the option to change the nav bar dpi (euroskank aokp), but now im using paranoid based on cm10, im not using cuz' cm10 based but the awsome PA DPI configurations.

Its depend what you really want with your GNex. Each ROM have advantage
For me stock ROM that already Custom by someone is good enough

I'm testing the same thing. I just flashed the latest aokp, now I'm on paranoid android. I much prefer the toggles in aokp (I'm in minority here I know). But aokp is not working with hide nav bar app, yet cyan and all other JB roms work fine with this. So I'm sticking with PA for now.
Aokp is missing stuff still like color multipliers etc. But they have center clock etc. Cyan is missing center clock, but has screen multipliers. Cyan also has dBm signal, but aokp does not yet. So its a tough comparison. Cyan has more features. I'm staying with paranoid just to use tablet mode for now.
Can't compare the 2 like that. Both offer different things. From my experience cm has been smoother and more fluid than aokp but aokp has a lot of customization. I'd say cm is more stable but the only person who can confirm these things is you.

CM tends to be very stable and smooth , AOKP is great if your looking to make your phone a little more unique and personal.
I've found battery life on CM better than AOKP but over-all its down to what you want. Both work well, both work different.
Try both and make a decision
Anyone know of a good stable and bloat free Touchwiz rom with navigation bar like aosp and has the back button on the left where it should be..
Or a super stable aosp / aokp rom with 4.2 jb? Currently running CM10. 1 and there is a lot of things that I use that are unstable. Or even a super stable 4.1.2 aosp/aokp rom.

A great stable build of AOKP in my opinion http://goo.im/devs/KAsp3rd/aokp/d2tmo/nightly/aokp_d2tmo_Nov-20-12.zip
T-Mobile SGS III
thank you.. i have used aokp in the past but i believe even the stable build just like cm10 has that bug where when you record video it will freeze and reboot, losing the video you were trying to record.
Was just hoping there was maybe another rom out there aosp like that doesnt have that bug.. But hey its been a while since i used aokp.. i will have to give it another go this weekend.
i could use a touchwiz rom i just need my onscreen navigation buttons the hardware buttons are lame after using softkeys for so long.
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030473 in my resource bible I found that this ROM has the option you want.
T-Mobile SGS III
I have been using this ROM since it first cam out and am currently on the Official 1.6 version. The only glitches I have noticed so far are graphical when you rotate the screen and every once and a while it will freeze and reboot. I use this as my main ROM and it is smooth and works very well. The "OK Google" feature works well as does the google now. I don't think I have found anything that does not work yet. Just thought I would put this out there because I have tried all the others including the unoficial CM11 and as far as stability and battery life this one is the best I have found. Here is the link to their thread.

CM 10.11 unofficial is better in my opinion, I have used both slimkat an cm10.11, no rotation glitches with latest cm10.11 build.

cant say anything about CM11, havent tried it, but there are no glitches in slimkat in the latest build.
cheers
The graphic glitches are fixed in all cm11 based roms. But please: there is no best ROM and there will never be. Just try it when you are curious..

I know that all ROMs are different and that each one is better in a different way. All I meant was which kit kat ROM is GBE best so far due to they are all still in their alpha builds and some are pretty glitchy still. Slimkat is a really nice ROM with only the rotation glitch left And I have flashed the latest CM11 as of last night and so far no rotation image glitches, no reboots and runs very quick and smooth.

The glitches are fixed on the surface, but below it's not a true fix - the drivers for gpu are not updated. It's more like a band aid, you can see when webview slows down in the gnex.
