I have been using this ROM since it first cam out and am currently on the Official 1.6 version. The only glitches I have noticed so far are graphical when you rotate the screen and every once and a while it will freeze and reboot. I use this as my main ROM and it is smooth and works very well. The "OK Google" feature works well as does the google now. I don't think I have found anything that does not work yet. Just thought I would put this out there because I have tried all the others including the unoficial CM11 and as far as stability and battery life this one is the best I have found. Here is the link to their thread.

CM 10.11 unofficial is better in my opinion, I have used both slimkat an cm10.11, no rotation glitches with latest cm10.11 build.

cant say anything about CM11, havent tried it, but there are no glitches in slimkat in the latest build.
cheers
The graphic glitches are fixed in all cm11 based roms. But please: there is no best ROM and there will never be. Just try it when you are curious..

I know that all ROMs are different and that each one is better in a different way. All I meant was which kit kat ROM is GBE best so far due to they are all still in their alpha builds and some are pretty glitchy still. Slimkat is a really nice ROM with only the rotation glitch left And I have flashed the latest CM11 as of last night and so far no rotation image glitches, no reboots and runs very quick and smooth.

The glitches are fixed on the surface, but below it's not a true fix - the drivers for gpu are not updated. It's more like a band aid, you can see when webview slows down in the gnex.

Haven't noticed any immediate changes compared to CM9 or compared to JB 4.1/4.1.1?

Probably little to no differences between 4.1.1 and CM10 yet, as all of AOSP has been merged and CM9 is being finished prior to major testing of merging CM9 features into CM10.
Does it have t9 dialer? Otherwise im happy with stock
Holy moly, CM10 already?
I thought it would be months before we'd see anything. And, yes, I'm impulsive enough to flash an alpha.
looks stock with some cm apps dsp apollo so on. and a cm kernel
I'm guessing something doesn't work? Love to flash something new except I need everything working.

Did they add in toggles in the notification menu? That's the one thing that I'm missing. Other apps on the Play Store aren't as good.
what's new besides the obvious?.. DSP and Apollo...

Me too.. but I'm using Notification Toggle app with CM9 custom icons and it's working fine.
The only thing I miss from CM9 is themes support, but honestly JB is sooooooo smooth that is the first time I'm considering stick with an original ROM, not CM or other custom.

Same here and I'm still on ARHD the original JB preview.
But after using it for a couple of weeks, I am getting bored of it and I miss my downloaded themes to switch as well. I'm ready for CM/AOKP now...

Confirmed. The camera is borked. It's pretty snappy. Looks a little different here and there and the system sounds are noticeably louder than stock. There's probably more that's been changed...I mean obviously cm kernel is there. Can't be a daily of course, but WOW! that was FAST!
Does anyone have a mirror for the Gapps`? Ive tried the goo.im one for a cople of hours now, it just keeps telling me that there are some problems with the servers
Not sure if there is a thread already out there, but I was thinking about flashing CM 10.1 nightly. I was wondering if it stable enough for a daily driver and if there is any issues anyone is experiencing.
Also, does CM 10.1 offer RenderFX ?
I'm using it right now, it is stable and I didn't notice any bugs since I flashed it last week, but I didn't like Apollo music player so I froze it from settings and got Google Play Music from the Play Store, and no RenderFX or the option to disable screen-off animation (yet) but it's not the final version so you can expect to see all the features from CM10 added to 10.1 eventually.
If you don't want to download 150+ MB every day then the app "CyanDelta" is a must have, it's free and it offers smaller downloads (around 10MB) and it's safe to use.
I'm using Franco's kernel r361 and getting the same battery life (if not better) I had on stock 4.2.1 and no SoD so far (only happened once on stock anyway)

Thanks for the quick review. Think I might wait till the final version is out or at least RenderFX ( loved that feature at night) is available.
I am finding a lot of issues with the Bluetooth staying connected or not turning off with the stock 4.2.1 ROM. Finding it very annoying.
Using CM 10.1 Nightly 2013/01/14 no issues so far with LeanKernel and InteractiveX CPU governor. Good battery life with a lot of background services (Facebook, Cerberusy, WhatsApp, and so on).
The only problem I have found is that the quiet mode doesn't work with WhatsApp: I can always hear notification sound even if it was disabled in quiet options. Plus another bug for me is that quickly panel for enable/disable 3G data is not working (leaves 3G data always enabled).
But apart from minor bugs I would suggest to flash the CM 10.1 Nightly. I've never used any Rom other than stock...

I have always been a fan of CM, use to have it on my nexus one. Now I am using the galaxy nexus and the stock rom just doesn't offer everything I want. BTW how is the battery life with the kernel that comes with the cm 10.1 nightly. I have never flashed a kernel before.
I'm using CM10.1 with the CM kernel and it's absolutely fine for my use, more than happy with it

Using 10.1 for about a day now. Came from stock 4.2.1. I love 10.1... it's a great mix of lock screen options from 10.0 and all the new features of 10.1. I hate the 4.2.1 lock screen, but a recent update in 10.1 has made it capable of looking/acting very much like 4.1.2 or 10.0. No regrets here. And no issues to report.

The 3G quick panel toggle works for me.
But I have another strange bug, the keyboard only suggests custom words, if there is no custom words in my dictionary then the suggestions bar is always empty when i type a space after a word, tried clearing data of the keyboard app but still the same

SOD = screen of death
That's mean the device is still running and there are symptoms like vibration or ringing but the screen do not wake when you press the power button.

Hi
I am thinking of flashing to CM 10.1 any advice anyone would recommend. I am only on the stock version and would to tweak and play around. Any help would be more than appreciated.
Thanks:laugh:
I have been on cm10.1 since the nightlies were released, and I flash updates regularly.
Haven't had any problems, and the battery time is great. I have no problems getting through a day with normal use.

I didn't want to steal his thread, but I wanted to let you guys know about this, I'm using it and it's kind of cool. Slightly unstable for the time being, but we don't even have 10.2 nightlies yet, but when we do this will be included.
Tested and working on : LiquidSmooth 2.9
Should work on all AOSP ROMs..
Will NOT work on any Touchwiz based ROM.
Edit : Your stock camera will remain. This is a separate app!
doesn't work FC's on Hyperdrive ROM RLS15 for me
It force closes here too running hyperdrive 15

FC on my 4.1.2 ROM too.

Works for my T999L on CM10.1 Nightly, except HDR, and it is not stable (it locked up and I had to reboot). Going to keep playing with it, wish I could find a user guide for it, but I guess it hasn't be made yet.
EDIT: Front-Facing Mode causes reboot, Panorama Mode causes FC, HDR & PicSphere will not compile. Also any error and the phone has to be rebooted for it to see the camera again.
Yeah sorry guys doesn't look like it works on Twiz. AOSP based ROMs only.

There isn't any, so far
Almost every ROM has fixed the graphic webview glitches. The rest is not ready at all, but the roms are really stable and fast!
And is there a comparison of the most famous ROMs available which would ease the selection?
Gesendet von meinem Galaxy Nexus mit Tapatalk
Every 4.4 ROM has got the same graphical issues. It's because the outdated GPU drivers and the kernel. But they're on the best way to fix it. Webview issues have been fixed recently. Now there's just rotation animation and stuff gliched...
Devs are working hard, I'm very sure they will have a fix for all issues soon. But until the new kernel is ready, there will be no 4.4 ROM without these issues...
i hardly notice those glithches on the 4.4 rom i'm using. so, no biggie.
There is no ROM without those glitches...but devs are working to make the glitches disappear!:thumbup:

Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
When the graphical glitches are eventually fixed, will it likely mean a wipe and re-flash, or will it just mean a new kernel and maintaining the current install.

CM11 fixed the rotation and crt graphics issues, no new kernel yet but the issues are fixed. I'm running swordrune's CM11 unofficial nightly right now and the only issues left are the graphics bug on photo preview pictures and the black screen on panoramic camera mode. So basically, there are at least 4 roms right now available on Toro alone that don't have these issues and did not require a new kernel.
Amazing how quickly the devs were able to hammer out the graphics issues

Cm11 because it patches the stagefright vulnerability, also it has better battery life.
Both good roms. Personally, I prefer slimkat because its really fast, I use the slimpie controls and im getting less play services crashes. Why not try them both? I have 2 nandroid backups just in case I want to switch it up. Hopefully someday we'll have dual boot...
In general what are the differences between SlimROM and CM? I see both for several devices, but I never tried flashing SlimROM. I assume both as very similar since they're both AOSP based.
This is all against XDA etiquette really. Flash both, check it out for yourself. Go with the one you like.
Before I used to use CM11 but now I am currently using slim kat. I think that slim kat is better it has more customization.
