Found this on the Android General discussion forum, and thought I'd bring it to attention here, since we proud Gnex owners are basically THE people rocking some jelly bean version phones, and I've seen many complaints about Adobe flash no longer working.
I take no credit for this guide, simply posting it here for those of us who don't have time/have a life and aren't scanning other forums.

Honestly? I personally don't really care about the whole flash buisness... but I don't use it much. Only time I did was when trying to watch streaming video on specific sites, and I've found other, easier alternatives. But there are some people who surf flash based sites on a regular basis, it's understandable they'd be annoyed, I have one friend who didn't want to make the switch to 4.1 because the whole flash issue...
If anyone else was worried about loosing flash support, no reason to now. Make the switch! JB is just worth it...
And people, remember, this is just a temporary way to hold off the inevitable pending death of flash and the rise of HTML5. Support s gone, Adobe announced they'd pull Flash from the app store all together on the 15th of August, and let's be honest, flash has always been a slow, clumsy way to surf the web on mobile (nevertheless, it was nice to have the possibility of running it).
For me, Flash Player carried over from ICS when I flashed the yakju JB OTA, so I had it all along. As I understand it though, all you really ever needed was to sideload the latest Flash (11.1.115.1.12) APK which we've had up in the Dev forums here for awhile now.. Not sure what those extra steps and files are for in the thread you linked.

Try it. Seriously, go into your browser and open up a flash site, let me know if it works... it carried over for me with the OTA, though flash hasn't worked for me since. Also side loading it doesn't help. Sure it gets installed, but that's all it is now. An installed icon in the app drawer. Clicking it and opening a browser for the settings gives me a blank page. Would be interesting to know if it actually works. I thought it did in the beginning, and proudly showed my friend he shouldn't be worried, flash still works. Then I realized I hadn't been on a flash site, and flash DOESN'T work. Oops

Yes, that works. I have Flash held over from the ICS to JB OTA upgrade.

Well, here's the same game on the same Site on my browser after sideloading flash:
I do remember seeming to think that flash WAS working for me right after the OTA, but since then I have flashed so many different roms and I had uninstalled flash somewhere along the process. Just tried sideloading it now and this is what showed up in the stock browser.
Anyone here have Flash working without carrying over thru the OTA? Just sideloading it?

It works well for me on JB (Eclipse ROM) and I side-loaded V11.1. I think someone already mentioned there is a 'flash-fetcher' on the market here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modaco.flashdownloader
If you want to be sure you're up to date I think that gets it from Adobe, but I'm not sure, and haven't used that app. I'm able to use flash in the stock JB browser and also in Dolphin, and like everyone, not in Chrome. I'll give you site a try because I don't really use it much but I know it works.
Good luck.
I though that JB had terrible battery, isn't that a reason not to upgrade

Hi,
I'm about to order a Galaxy Nexus but then I saw this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsYoxZiBTEA.
It says that this multitouch problem occurs with the GSM version also. So has this problem been resolved now or is it still apparent? Multitouch is very important for me and could be a dealbreaker if it doesn't work. So has it been fixed in stock rom or maybe any custom roms?
Thanks in advance
No, the multi-touch issue is not fixed, and is still present on Stock 4.0.2.
As for custom ROMS, I have no idea.
It's extremely annoying as i've paid for games I can no longer use.

Only 4.0.4 Roms dont suffer from this bug
Awesome news Hopefully an update will come along some time soon so I can remain stock
Cheers.
yea it was fixed in 4.0.4. I can't remember last time I experienced that bug.
Its a non issue. Strictly software bug. Already fixed and moved on. No worries.
It rarely happened when I was running older software, but if you want to remain stock, the fix is to power toggle your display. Else just flash a newer rom with the fix built in.

Can't speak for stock, but I haven't noticed the multi-touch bug with the exception of some ROM specific 3.0.8 kernels. Whether it's cured, or just not as apparent I'm not sure. I have a GSM phone.
i tried the multi touch app and i don't have that issue.. running google stock 4.0.2
1) Why get a Nexus device to run stock?
2) Why run stock when there is AOKP?
3) What are you doing on XDA if you truly dont want to enjoy your phone?

Not even sure what your post has to do with what I said...
I have a black GSM version on stock 4.0.2 and no multitouch issues at all.
This issue os pretty strange... the first time I installed FIFA12 the controls were a nightmare...
Now they perform faultlessly.
Issue is NOT present in stock 4.0.2 GSM. Tested with the same app (multitouch tester) that was used in the YouTube video.

It absolutely is present in 4.0.2 stock, because I have the issue and can confirm it with the multitouch test app and the fact that playing dual-stick games like Modern Combat 3 is impossible because of the bug.
Look, I know how to do all the rooting and flashing because that's what I did regularly with my Nexus One on T-Mobile. Now I have an LTE GN from Verizon, and I will admit I'm a little worried.
With HTC, when the power button was bad, or the phone's earpiece was bad, even though I'd unlocked the bootloader, I identified myself to HTC as a developer, and they honored their warranty.
I bought my GN through Amazon for $99 when moving to my fiance's Verizon account. Who do I talk to if something goes bad with the phone? Verizon? Amazon? or Samsung? And if I've unlocked the bootloader, will they honor their warranty? I've seen that you can relock the bootloader. True? Will it allow me to restore it to stock and re-lock the bootloader for warranty purposes?
I definitely want to get some of these irksome bugs addressed by updating, and I'm honestly not particularly fearful of bricking the phone. My only concern is if some aspect of the hardware goes bad...I want to not be out of luck on the device.
So, has anyone got any experience with this? Has anyone returned a defective GN that they'd unlocked and installed custom ROM stuff on?
Thanks,
Randy
I think I'm OK.

Do you use 4.0.2 GSM version? If yes, it must be a hardware issue, cause on my device multi touch works absolutely flawless. Multi touch tester and Antutu test don't show the issues of the video in the op. Modern Combat 3 works great without any multi touch issue.

touchwiz mod or rom? Most of the earlier touchwiz roms didn't come with a kernal which is one reason it made it so it wouldn't boot after coming from cm9 which does install an aosp kernal
Odin will overwrite the recovery/kernal/system but not data.

Long story short, I've been running the latest version of Mack's ROM, which is awesome, along with the modified APK of Google Wallet that we all know still isn't officially supported. With that said, this Apk has been running for me without a hitch. I even used it yesterday. As of right now, out of the blue, it's giving me the dreaded "your device is not supported at this time" message. As far as I know, I didn't change the ROM or anything else other wiping the Dalvik cache\ cache, and installing a new battery. Anybody else having an issue?

Just flashed the newest version of Macks All Star and re-setup google wallet. Setup for wallet went as normal when changing ROM's no issues or hiccups. Going out later and will see if it works, give you an update when I return.

That is correct. Since the app doesn't let you in if you uninstalled it won't work at all. I get the same message but I didn't uninstall so it will still work.

Everytime I have to do a fresh install because of me screwing my phone up and making it do SOD's (screen of death). I always reset google wallets. If I am going to do a system reset I also reset google wallet first. When I use Titanuim back up I also always revert back to my old market ID number too just to be on the safe side.

You don't think this is the same as being permanently blocked, right? I say this only because I didn't wipe the wallet. I felt that there was no need to because I didn't switch ROMs.
It works just fine for me on my note 2 running Macks All Star 3.3, used it at Jersey Mike's Subs and Starbucks. As others have said always reset google wallet when ever making changes to your phone and I always revert back to original android ID thru titanium backup.

Hello all!
My wife picked up a Samsung Galaxy S2 i900 from a garage sale today, with the plans on exchanging it for her older phone for Sprint. To my surprise, I booted it up to see Cyanogenmod 9 loaded on it. I was excited at first. I have only heard of this mod, but never touched it.
Anyway, I plugged it in to charge, when I started to run into problems. I'm assuming whomever tried to flash it ran into problems. After guessing my way to reverting to the (CG) stock I had full access to all the menus....except the one where Sprint tells me to follow the process where I have to revert back to the stock Galaxy OS. They are asking for a "privacy" button inside the settings....one which I do not have. We were able to find a Revert screen, which only deleted all pictures, music, etc... But it still holds the CG mod 9.
Basically I am looking for a way to revert the OS back to it's factory default. I am somewhat familiar with computers, and I have a feeling that the original firmware has been replaced with this new system.
I already have access to the S2 via a USB cable, where it's acting as an external hard drive. What do I need to install to take it back to factory?
I appreciate all the help I can get at this point. I've never touched phone OS before...my phone is a Galaxy Nexus, and TBH I'm happy with what I got.

You said 'sprint' which makes me think you don't have the international i9100. Check the sticker under the battery and tell us what it says. Without that information, any advice we give you *may* be wrong and *could* do more harm than good.........

My guess is that you have this variant......

Probably best to ask there.......

Keithross,
Yes, that's it. The Model is the D710, provided by Sprint. I found a site that gave me the Simple Downloader Tool to flash back to stock. After downloading and installing, I attempted to flash it. The program only made it to 2% before I got an error "Error Encountered! Cancel Download!" Or a variant thereof. So I'm still searching.
As I said fella, look for the correct forum for this phone.....Samsung phones are compatible with a firmware installing program called Odin.....but I would STRONGLY ADVISE reading about it before using it. It can cause problems if used incorrectly by the (erm) inexperienced (no offence intended).
The forum for your phone will be able to provide as much information as you need and answer any questions you may have.
To reiterate......don't do anything else to your phone until you are more familiar with the options........

Ummm...thanks? I have heard of Odin, but only in passing. And I apologize for my "nub-ness" in this regard. As I stated before, I have never installed a custom OS on a cell phone before and, to be quite honest, after this debacle I have no intention of doing it ever again. But I ran a quick search on the "epic 4g touch" and it appears that the phone in question is a slider. Which, judging by the phone in my hand and the picture you posted, is obviously not. The only reason I am in this sub-forum to begin with is because the XDA search led me here. Now unless I am completely misunderstood here, I am not sure how the Epic 4G will be able to assist me in this one.
Again, unless I'm completely mistaken about this.
OK...so I put "SPH D710" into XDAs search box and pretty much the majority of thread results were sourced from the "epic 4g touch" forum.....
I could be wrong (there are 20+ variants of the S2) so don't take my word for it....lol
And don't worry about being 'noob' everybody starts at the beginning....
20 months ago, I hadn't even heard of CyanogenMod or XDA.....It's been a steep learning curve.....

I believe I've found a stock ROM that will work with this phone. The OS is somewhat different than my Nexus JB OS and I hope Sprint accepts this. I will bump it if I need anything else.
I've asked mods to move your thread to the correct forum (You want to get the 'right' advice).
Just Odin stock GB27, and then your done

Jd, I've been watching this thread and it seems I may have a similar issue..
I tried to flash my phone to a different ROM and flashed gApps to touchwiz on accident...
My gApps stopped working and from what I've read I need to flash back to the stock GB27.
Will this fix my gApps and get my system back to normal so I can flash a new ROM?
Go into recovery. Wipe system. Wipe dalvik cache, cache. Then reflash rom. Or find the format all zip. Flash that and then flash your rom again. To answer you though. You could always find a oneclick for the release you want. Then flash using odin. After that boot up. Then go back into download mode. Flash the el26 kernel with cwm recovery. Then go into recovery and flash your rom again
