To be honest that don't say much. The GSIII is smoother and more powerful.

Smoother maybe. More powerful , how exactly ?
The GPU in the exynos processor has more power than the tegra. As it uses a smaller architecture.

Neither does stating that. Honestly there is no exact proof that either is noticeably faster. Both phones are 1.4/5 GHz quad-core devices. Yes the S3 has more RAM and a faster GPU but 2GB of memory isn't needed for this type of android device and it actually doesn't make it faster. Unlike the S3 gpu the tegra 3 has built in ram for the GPU (S3 uses integrated ram)
. The HOX also has a 5th deep sleep core and if you have seen the sense 4.1 deep sleep you will be amazed.
I could see the HOX have better benchmarks than the S3 but that doesn't mean it's faster or better. The devices are too different yet equal to compare and choose which one is better.

I dont really get people's obsession w benchmark scores and specs. They dont mean anything if the software is buggy, the battery sucks, the multitasking is messed up, the screen flickers, the reception fades away.

butt isnt the S3 all about benchmarks? the Mali400 is the only reason why the s3 ever gets better benchmarks even though the A9's are clocked slower, quad clocks are the same. The Mali400 is a great gpu but it uses integrated memory and the only reason i would ever say the Tegra 3 is better than the Exynos 4412 is because it has a dedicated GPU and a 5th idle core...... though i can only imagine samsung having a quadcore device with a dedicated gpu and a 5th companion core (nexus device hehehe).
Dont forget to tell that our oc is for daily use, not only to do a great benchmark and then go back to stock kernel.

So a fake chinesse copy of a sg3 is consider as an original Samsung ?
Nice try
Htc One X Venom ViperX Rom + faux123 s kernel + Rezound Mod
Mine got 5912 on stock rom, no tweaks or anything, just root. Havent seen any stock SGS3 reach that score yet. All the HOX needed is proper optimizations for its SoC like samsung has to prove it can match and even beat its flagship in some areas
So, better screen, better camera, beats, better ui (imo) faster updates due to htc's track record vs sammy, more mainstream SoC for better game support and general compatibity for the future due to N7 using the same chip. Do we really have to feel threatened by the SG3? Its a hype machine just like the fruit phone

Hi guys, I just tried the n.o.v.a.3 and it looks amazing. However when I go into a more complicated sense it lags a lot. I overclocked the CPU using Faux123's kernel but just a little improvement. So it must be the gpu.
P.S. I also read a post that TF201's Gpu is able to lock at 600mhz and it hits 73fps in glbenchmark..... So is there any possible to overclock one x's Gpu?

Yes. Currently its getting basic kernel source stable first is the priority. Then oc and gpu oc will come.

If its laggy then it need to be updated, not overclock the hardware. I doubt there is a game or app that the hox fails to meet the minimum specs and requires you to overclock to meet them.

Hey,
A quick search didn't get me anything useful, so I'm posting.
IN terms of performance, as in smoothness, stutter, etc., and the amount of heat given off, which ROM is generally better (On stock kernel)?
InstertCoin?
or
Android Revolution HD?
Naturally, I would have tried both of the myself, but my internet is soo slow that its nearly impossible, so I really can't download both.
So please tell me honestly, not based on which dev is better, or which ROM you support more, but in straight-out performance and heat.
Thanks
PS: I'm talking about the One X, incase you got confused because of the signature And by stock kernel I mean the kernel that come with the ROM (Not Faux, Franco, Bricked ETC)

Nova is not lagging for me at all. Try the latest kernel of faux(004b6), also use hamdir's gaming guide. About those games being smoother on the sensation, that's sort of to be expected. Those games can't do anything with the tegra 3 because it's not optimized. The developers, especially gameloft, does not care for tegra. They depend on raw power, where as tegra depends on optimization. I'm also using faux kernel with viperrom. Try hamdir's gaming guide, and remember the interactive governor is broken on the latest faux kernel so you should use ondemand.
I think it would've also been more appropriate to post this in the before mentioned gaming thread. You're answer would've been very quickly answered.

I was disappointed with the performance with the One X when I first got it as well. It was getting ****e Quadrant scores. Laggy interface and crap game performance.
I slapped on InsertCoin, flashed Franco's latest kernel, ran V6 supercharger and followed hamdir's gaming guide and it fixed everything. I now get about 800 more points in Quadrant, and games run perfectly smooth.

this is the problem with u people u buy a device n have the burning sensation that the alternative does better
let me tell u this every trick in the gaming guide I actually learned from the sgs2 forums
I guess they really needed all those governor tweaks too, let me tell u something else
don't ever expect full performance out of ur mashine when all default android CPU governors come so heavily tweaked to save battery
the on-demand default only calls full speed at 90% load, the interactive default only calls it at 97% load that's really conservative, the situation is the same on every other device
I remember I had the same gov issue with my sensation stock (In ARHD mike had them optimized) also had the issue with my DHD
android = non game friendly governors that needs to be tweaked
and finally the Asus prime comes with a performance profiles built-in and this app all it does is load the very same optimized values in my guide and scripts
u don't need to read anything just use my scripts, also the latest ARHD has the on demand optimized out of box if u can't bother
oh and nova 3 as well as most GL games runs smooth as butter on sgs3 because GL optimizes for Mali devices and neglect Tegra, maybe because of some unannounced contract
so go get it be happy

To be fair, my Nexus 7 gets around 2000 less score on benchmarking than my HOX.
However, my nexus 7 is much smoother and faster. For example, I tried the same 2 live wall papers on HOX and N7.
N7 runs it flawlessly, HOX kept re-drawing/crashing and stuttering.
So yes, don't follow benchmarks.
Oh yeah...welcome to the club i was just a bit shocked by the benchmarks XD and yeah it's better not to trust benchmarks. You can judge your performance by using it for a while rather

your score is good for stock , the highest I got with stock JB rom was 6931 .
but now with ARHD Rom I get 7379 its not really all about those scores mate , its how you feel with your rom if the rom is bloated or not for example I was on viperX rom very good rom nice tweaks but I was feel its bit bloated to me then I moved to ARHD Rom and its extremly fast also great battery on both roms .
stock is the worst laggy a bit battery drain fast at least for me , so if you want higher scores or to feel you Taking advantage of all the power from your HOX Custom rom is your answer if you need help Im here for you
good luck and have fun with your HOX

Which kernel and set up are you using?

True that. on stock my benchmark was this and it is just under 6000 on ViperX. I was a bit disappointed with ViperX after these benchmark results but after I used the rom for a couple of days it actually felt better and smoother, even games played better. Its not about the benchmark results it's about the feel of it. Plus ViperX has a ton of features!

Same for me! I've tried almost every rom out there and to be honest anything except stock gave me better performance i'm not using viperx because i dont like the sound mod much . Otherwise, it's the most customisable and coolest rom ever
