My I747 is now a NEXUS?! - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello all,
Recently my phone believes it's a galaxy nexus now. my computer is also reading it as a galaxy nexus, instead of a samsung sghi747 like it usually does. when i was flashing diet ICS, it wasn't booting so I had to flash the stock kernel, following instructions on the android authority website(sory but i can't post links yet) but when i rebooted my phone, it was diet ICS, but also saying it's a nexus. what happened and why is my phone a nexus???

It might be Google Wallet. Mine also is doing this, hence the "sent from my Google Nexus" below. Check out my thread in Q&A.
Google Wallet apparently changes the build . prop....

Just change your build.prop back to your phone's original values. After you set up Google Wallet.

[Q] Why am I still 4.0.1?

Why am I still 4.0.1?
Is this normal and my phone is simply late in the update roll-out?
I have been waiting for 4.0.2 in order to install Google Wallet.
We have no official explanation but the 4.0.2 rollout seems to have stopped - possibly because of bugs.
4.0.3 OTA for the GN hasn't started yet afaik.

Oh ok, I must have missed those news.
I haven't encountered any bugs in 4.0.1, but I would like to install Google Wallet. Is there a Google Wallet apk install for 4.0.1?
There is a Google Wallet apk out u can download, should be posted on the forum somewhere

Google Wallet Problem

Running AOKP with franco kernel on sprint galaxy nexus.
I get this message when I try to open google wallet.
"To use google wallet on this device, you must first add a google.com (google employee) account to this phone. "
What is the deal? Is there anyway around this?
it actually says google employee?
Yes
Is a problem but it should have been fix already

Google wallet with custom rom

Does Google Wallet work with custom roms, specifically miui? Thank you in advance.

The Google Wallet apk is here in this other thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365360
I have read that some people are having issues with it and others are not. Do a bit of light reading and see if the results seem favorable for the MIUI ROM.
...or perhaps even pop this question into that thread
it did work on older versions of both aokp and cm9 for me, havent installed it in the last couple of months to see if they still work.
I'm currently on LiquidSmooth and its working fine. Also worked on Paranoid for me. Make sure to reset the Wallet before flashing your custom rom. Otherwise you have to restore to a working backup and hope it still works. Gave myself quite a heart attack.

You must not have Yakju.
It doesn't matter what he has, updates are released in BATCHES and NOT EVERYONE GETS IT AT THE SAME TIME.
My friend is on yakju with 4.0.2. Big deal. If you want it that badly root your phone and put it on yourself.

[Q] Google wallet on T-Mobile samsung galaxy s2

Hello There,
Anyone using google wallet on Samsung galaxy s2 T-mobile US version? A while ago, there was an XDA thread which concluded that it is not possible, but I kept my hopes thinking that this will some how be possible. Now that I am seeing other threads about the possibility of this for SG3, is there a way to make this work on SG2?
By the way, I am currently running V9 Jedi Mind Trick ROM.
No way impossible.
If someone were to figure it out it would most likely be very illegal imo.

Google Wallet will never work on T-Mobile Galaxy S2. Stop asking. There is a hardware layer required for the chip to work with Google Wallet. Some type of encryption that we can't really duplicate with just software.
