Cm-10/jelly bean & copliot live 8 - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

There is an update to Copilot Live 8 which the software makers have released.
I only came across it today. It is at www.copilotlive.com, and you need www.copilotlive.com/androidinstall if you have the software, and found that you could not use it with Jelly Bean. It is updated to run on Jelly Bean.
Hope this helps.

Its a APP rite? Which is the best section for to share it??

Yet you still post this in the wrong forum? What does it have to do with the I9100?

It already ran on Jellybean....been using it for months.

I have not had JB on my S II I9100. Only had it since the first cm-10 experimental. The Live 8 failed to run on my phone. As in the OP, I only discovered this today.
Posted here only for those who would find my "late eureka" useful, and not for those who were already sorted.
If we all adopted a dismissive approach to the posts that highlight problems that don't affect us, no one would be helped.
I dare not say any more than I have here.
Good night.

FROYO Petition

This is a P E T I T I O N / R E M I N D E R to Samsungs engineer´s/developer´s to boost them up and finally to show them HOW MUCH WE ARE WAITiNG FOR FROYO UPDATE to our lovely I9000 PHONE...
DONT LET THIS THREAD GO DOWN UNTIL WE´VE GOT IT!!!
Samsung have said Froyo will be released in late August to Korea, with other markets following shortly after.
?? for what should that post be usefull, Samsung already said that in August a Froyo Update will come, they only confirmed the korean version right now, but that doesn't mean that it won't come for other countries to, in the same time.
don't worry it's just a noob silly question ...
can someone close this topic please ???

Yeah he did with the Behold 2...wait no

Come on use a bit of brain power, why would they give the phone 512mb of ram if they weren't going to give it FROYO?

It's already been announced, so this thread is pointless.
Yeah, I know that. I'm just making the point that the phone was made with planning to get Froyo as an update by Samsung.
True, but that doesn't mean they will actually release it here. While I am quietly confident we will get it (by hook or by crook) the fact it has 512MB doesn't mean we are guaranteed to get it.
Wait, am I contradicting myself here? must be the booze...
Froyo has been allready confirmed by Samsung to be released in August for the korean market, so I am very confident that the international version of the SGS will get it shortly after.
A pedition for samsung to commit to post-froyo releases on the other hand could be more usefull.

Yes, lets start a petition for 3.0/Gingerbread instead.
2.2 is definitely coming. Samsung doesn't have a choice. They're selling too many of these phones in too many markets not to follow through with their promise this time around. With 300,000 phones sold in Korea, imagine the PR disaster they'd have on their hands.
More than a Froyo release, I'd rather they release the video drivers so we can get custom roms. We should make a petition for that too!
Better to wait 14 days more and have good stable rom than .having installed it full of bugs .Good work takes time .

It is pointless..we are getting new Froyo test firmware every day so far...which means they are working on it...even if everyone in the world pressures them to release it...they can't change the law of physics and program faster then possible...it needs to be thoroughly debugged and make sure no major issues remain.

[Q] Ready for Gingerbread?

Hi guys...today google should release android 2.3 gingerbread..i don't know what's your feelings..but i'm so excited. Can't wait to see and try some porting. Within the last months we tried lots of awesome roms..and maybe we should say goodbye. I hope that the same developers start to create something new based on gingerbread. What do you think? and what are you waiting for?
personally i love sense based roms..so cant wait for one of it!
we have some stable roms before christmas?
Haven't they been releasing it for the past 4 days?

What do you guys think? will there be a new UI? Hopefully it looks like the Kite UI Although i have been searching around i have not found anything on the actual gingerbread release, yet
I think gingerbread is 3.0 not 2.3
Any word about the integration in Gingerbread of that fancy virtual keyboard Google bought a few weeks ago?

Gingerbread is likely just to be an iteration of the OS, Honeycomb or (3.0) is likely to be the reworked candidate... What they have probably done is set the base ready for UI rework which will be completed by the next release.. That's my thought anyway. So yea, expect changes, but only tweaks, just like we got in 2.2.
Either way, it'll be well worth the upgrade!

isn't there anyone on the forum, who's like an inside man and have all the inside info.. J/k keeping my fingers crossed.
The only way we'll see Gingerbread announced is if they're bundling integrated web services in a big way which would make sense what with facebook making some big pushes with single sign in and now their mail services.
But I doubt it, it's on the ticket as a "conversation" with Eric Schmidt, someone will probably ask him a question on it and that'll be about it.
But then again, he could also have a full plate of gingerbread cookies for the whole summit!!!
We had a feeling Eric Schmidt would be doing something surprising at the Web 2.0 summit, and the man didn't disappoint -- he just showed off the Nexus S, and revealed it has NFC features, a technology he thinks will eventually replace credit cards. Unfortunately, he also called it an "unannounced phone" from an "announced manufacturer," and the logo was taped over, so we're not any closer to a release date here.

I do not think it will be 3.0 but 2.3. And it is out on some development devices. Saw a graph showing the web statistics regarding Android and it showed all the versions including 2.2, 2.3 and 3.0, means that 3.0 is in an early development process. I cannot remember where i saw it.. sorry. [Update] I added the image I was talking about, it is from areamobile.de/news/16924-android-gingerbread-und-honeycomb-bereits-im-testbetrieb.
Another thing is that Alvaro Fuentes, member of the Open Handset Alliance, wrote in his twitter post:

Upgrading to ICS from custom ROM

Hi,
I'm currently running the Paradox ROM on the SGH-T989. Now, with ICS around the corner , I'd like to know how I can revert to the official ROM.
I've already taken a backup of the original stock ROM using the Clockwork Recovery mod. I'd appreciate it if someone could post an idiot's guide on upgrading to ICS from a custom ROM.
Thanks!

Most likly mistaking with the true GS2 International model
An engadget article. It's being rolled out for the normal SGS-II in Europe. I can't post the links until I'm 8 posts old , so here's the quoted text from the article.
After that March 10th mishap, Samsung reaffirmed to us that it'd deliver Android 4.0 for its GT-I9100 Galaxy S II when it was darn good and ready -- well folks, the company appears ready. It's just announced both via Facebook and Twitter that the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade that so many have lusted after is now available and will begin its rollout to users in Poland, Hungary, Sweden and Korea today, and will move onto other markets from there -- subject to carrier requirements, of course. Better yet, Samsung has affirmed that its Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will follow shortly. So, if you're one of the lucky ones to receive the upgrade, let us know how it fares for you in the comments below. Otherwise, feel free to keep clicking that update button.

I'm not familiar with how long the update would take to reach Carriers though. Anyway , I'm looking for a solution on how to upgrade when the update would come.
EDIT : Oops , someone beat me to it. I was referring to the international SGS-II. I'm not sure how long it would take to reach T-mobile.
I'm sick of the same thing being covered 20 times every day.
The international Galaxy S2 has NOTHING to do with our phone. Yes the name is the same but the insides of the phone are all different. They might as well have called our phone something completely different as to not confuse people.
Nothing from the I9100 will be usable for us. Nothing. Hence, I reiterate my previous statement: We are not seeing ICS for some months to come. Sad I know.
Here's your idiot proof guide.

The real frustration with this site is that people come here looking for more information and get greeted with condescending dickishness. Those guys posting about how awful it is to have to read threads asking about the update knew fully well what this thread was when they chose to come here.
I don't see how people can be so unaware of common sense that they would be surprised that a phone called the Samsung Galaxy S II getting the ICS update might confuse people who own a phone called the Samsung Galaxy S II into thinking they are getting an update to ICS.

By looking at the history, you can tell how long it usually takes for Samsung to deliver an update for carrier phones. As far as I can remember, for the T-Mo Galaxy S, it took them about 5 months to update to 2.2 AFTER the International Galaxy S received 2.2. This was about a month after google rolled out 2.3 via Nexus S.
The reason for the delay is because every carrier wants Samsung (and other manufacturers) to ensure that their bloatware works fine on their updated versions. And no matter how good Samsung's Hardware is, their software division is freaking slow!
So good luck waiting for 4.0. My guess is that it will be out by May/June/July/August.
Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec
Ok , thanks. But the real point of this thread was on HOW to UPDATE to ICS when it would finally come. It seems like everyone missed the point here. I don't really care when the update would come, that was never stated in the thread title nor did I ask for a date in my opening post.
I was fully aware that the "When is ICS going to arrive for T-mobile??!!" has been asked a hundred times, which is why I only asked HOW to update.

Well if ICS does come for our device in about 6 months.. you can always ODIN back to stock (check allgamers stickies) and wait for an OTA update, but you might have to wait for someone to exploit root access for 4.0... sooo i would wait until a dev creates a rooted stock ROM of 4.0.

Eh , the saddest part about it is how most failed to READ the thread. It was clearly stated that help was needed on HOW to update. The question "When will the update arrive?" was never stated in the opening post.
To answer the op, there's 2 ways to do it. first is to flash back to unrooted stock and wait for the push from tmo. Instructions are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22881355
Second way is to wait for a deodexed or rooted version from a dev and just flash like a normal ROM.

Android 4.0.4 for SGN (LTE) - When?

Hello forum-goers and fellow SGN owners and enthusiasts,
Last time I read anything about a possible OTA for 4.0.4 for the Verizon LTE SGN, it was the week before St. Patty's Day weekend, and said that there might be an OTA that weekend. Well, it's past. I've been combing through the threads and I don't see a definite, or even a rumor, thread about this OTA update.
I know it's on Verizon to finally approve it. Samsung and Google have given it their approval, although we know Google is still improving it on a day-to-day basis. Has anyone heard anything new about a possible date/date-range/fiscal quarter upon which this future-well-received update might be sent out?
I appreciate any and all positive discussion, and I'm sure the mods will clean up any negative comments. I do apologize for creating another thread (if one exists), but like I said, I didn't see any recently. Thank you.

Well, you don't have to unlock your bootloader, and you don't really even have to root. All you need is to just get temporary root access to place the update in the right directory. Takes all of 2 mins. But I don't have time to guide you through it right now.

Note: This assumes that you have the drivers for your device installed on your computer.
Step-by-step:
1) Download the attached file to your computer and unzip it in the same directory as your adb.exe file;
2) Open a command prompt in the same directory;
3) Copy the file to your device: adb push mempodroid /data/local/tmp/mempodroid
4) Copy the update to your /sdcard: adb push 659e0a8f24b4.signed-mysid-IMM30B-from-ICL53F.659e0a8f.zip /data/media/659e0a8f24b4.signed-mysid-IMM30B-from-ICL53F.659e0a8f.zip

Yeah, but that is not an OTA update and, moreover, it is not a stock build...

PTPT-New Beta Software for Android

Hey guys, just wanted to share this with you. Thought it was pretty neat and a fresh take on android since the roms lately kinda seem like the same old stuff anymore, not to put down the great work the devs of this community put out. I just signed up to be a beta tester so hopefully they'll email me back saying i can test this software. I believe this would be considered closed source, but would be great if they approached this community for input into this OS. If this has been covered already, mods please let me know and this posting can be deleted.

I'd appreciate it if we just let this thread die then if all it's going to get is negative comments. Sorry for posting this. Thanks for your replies anyways.
New PTPT Beta Release
Hi t1.8matt,
I was able to try PTPT's previous version and I agree -> a definite fresh take on android They'll be launching a newer release some time next week. Probably Friday March 22, so stay tuned. Along with the release, there will be an easier way for beta testers to login and download the .apk.
I wanted to share a video with you re: PTPT but currently, I am not allowed to post outside links
Cheers!
Honestly, I watched a couple videos on it and dont really find the UI pleasing to the eye. But I guess I will keep an eye on it just in case.
PTPT New UI
Hi jsgraphicart, PTPT's initial UI needed to be a lot more user friendly. I saw the latest version of their UI and there has been much improvement. Hopefully, you'll join as a beta tester when the new release comes out next week. I'll make sure to send you the link.
Cheers!

Thanks so much for trying the link. We're in the process of making the LOGIN a lot easier, with a link to download the .apk.
It should be ready by this Friday, March 22.
I'll let you know once everything is done.
Cheers!
