I'm looking for a cleaned up stock ROM. Does one exist?
Look through Android development. There are several stock based roms. I'm partial to Triune Father by Nunhugger

Nunhugger is part of AllianceRom, a development team. I am also part of that team, although not nearly as talented as Nun and some of the other guys on the group. That would be why I'm partial to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a flashaholic. But triune was the first custom ROM i flashed on my s3 and I've not felt a need to flash anything else.

I believe this is what you're looking for.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787546
I personally don't consider the ROM stock once its been deodexed, themed, modded, etc, but this is probably as close as you'll get.
I prefer original odexed ROM's and can clean them up myself in just a few minutes. The one I'm running is here, stock and rooted.

On a side-note, searching the forums is fairly simply, you can find most everything you're looking for in this thread.

Well not really. Because they have different homescreens and looks like different splash screens too. Not sure about by Smarberg, can't see any screenshots. Now ARHD is "closer to stock" because when you first you use it everything is the same as a stock ROM (eg homescreens, widgets etc.).

You'd have to specify what you want from stock and what you don't for anyone to answer that.

Leedroid is good, i'm using it rght now!
You have some good little tweaks also as the Leedroid Tweaks is included with the ROM.

But I think the OP means by "closer to stock" is that no visual changes like the ARHD ROMs. Well that's my interpretation of "closer to stock".

Once chefs starts changing honescreens and splash screens I consider that as getting further away from being "closer to stock" IMO.

I need to fix my friends Toro that he tried to load a junk version of JB. I'm looking for TWO answers here, most stable and working versions of stock JB AND AOSP JB...
THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ANY HELP!

There is no best ROM. Just try them all or just go stock. If you don't need customization and only want smooth and stable ROM, just stay stock. Nothing wrong with that.

There isn't stock JB for Toro or ToroPlus.

this is the best rom i have tried. after flashing it i have no reason to flash anything else. completely stock aside from a reboot menu, sms split (which some people report it bugged but it works fine for me), and some optimizations. the thing is snappy, buttery smooth and absolutely rock-stable. not one reboot yet and everything just plain works. just be sure to format data/cache/system before flashing.
take it from a former crack-flasher: i haven't found a better rom for any device i've owned.
The best is the one everyone is using. And each person is using a different ROM
What does that tell you? They are all best!

Hi, I am not new to rooting and custom ROMs but it has been a while and the forum has so many roms that it is hard to decide which is the most stable.
Would you guys please recommend to me the best/most stable/most customizable(cyanogen) AOSP rom for this phone? Basically I'd want the best CM9 rom and hopefully CM10 once its stable.
Thanks

Also, I'm a little lost on the whole recovery thing... can someone please explain it to me and how I can get the safe clockwork for my s2 so I can flash the CM9 you guys posted? My baseband is the FH13

Can I follow the simple steps in that post? Any requirements beforehand?
I have not seen a consistent explanation about the difference between the Android and original development forums.
I have not tried AOKP. That particular version you linked is no longer being developed. There is a newer Jelly Bean build here:

1. I believe the difference between the to sections is that Original development is for AOSP based roms while android development is for roms based of stock or leaked firmware. That being said i dont think that many people understand that when they post and it has been kind of a Cluster f.
2. Are you currently on the OTA? you will need to odin a kernel that has a working recovery with it. If youre going to another rom right away it may be easiest to odin EL26 cwm, then load into recovery and flash because this will install the kernel/recovery packaged in the rom.
3. Ive used AOKP some and its pretty nice but i am one that likes to stay with a rom that still has activity. That way if i have problem there may be a chance that it is going to get fixed. But if you are ok with a few problems here and there go ahead and test out CM10 or sbrissens AOSP.

1. Yeah I was going towards that conclusion but I dont think people understand it either.
2. I already flashed CM9. I used the mobile odin method in this link: http://e4gtcm.blogspot.com/p/cm9-install-guide.html
I flashed the kernel and I got stuck on recovery and couldnt get back to my regular rom. I was just wanting to get a recovery then I mounted the storage and put CM9 and gapps and flashed away. Now im running CM9 and its flawless.
3. Can you link me sbrissens AOSP? Thanks!

If you are running this ROM on your SGH-T999 (T-Mobile SG3), could you please share how your were able to flash this ROM and if it's running alright?

Why not just nandroid backup, wipe, and flash? It won't hard brick your device. Most, if not all, att ROMs are flashable on d2tmo.
What's so special about that AOKP anyway? We have Rootbox, AOKP from Kasper, and Illusion here... Can it be that different?

Actually it can, Task is a huge coder and adds a lot of the patches to the gerrit so if you use his rom you get the best of things usually. He is really an impressive dev and test things before release very thoroughly. He also makes his own kernel for the rom! I flashed and loved his rom a many times. But Illusion/Rootbox from Ramsay is the business for me now.

I installed TWRP from the open recovery script in GooManager, wiped and tried flashing Task's ROM in recovery, but I got an error. I was reading last night I may have to flash an AT&T TWRP recovery to make this work properly. I was planning on flashing Rootbox and Illusion eventually to oompare. I decided to try out Task's ROM based on Mr. Highway (Archangel) recommendation as being one of the best ROM'S for the SG3 period.

Thanks for replying. Are the patches Task submits incorporated into the Illusion and Rootbox ROM'S?

Great ROM! Rookie mistake, I've got it flashed.
Just for the sake of future Users that want to cross-flash Task's ROM, can you share your noob mistake and how you got it running. Would help to prevent future threads, *hopefully*.

Sorry about that. I downloaded and flashed Task's ROM through GooManager. I should have explored that option prior to asking for help. I used open script TWRP recovery for TMO. I hope this will help out those looking to test this or other ROMs.

Any idea on JellyBean747 Version 1? Is it no more under dev?

Look around, we don't really want to do your searching for you if you're going to be picky, I used to use HyperDrive when I wanted a stock ROM and it worked fine for me, don't remember any bugs. If the thread hasn't been replied to in a while, chances are it's not being developed anymore.
Just check the android dev and original android dev section I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.
