Well not really. Because they have different homescreens and looks like different splash screens too. Not sure about by Smarberg, can't see any screenshots. Now ARHD is "closer to stock" because when you first you use it everything is the same as a stock ROM (eg homescreens, widgets etc.).

You'd have to specify what you want from stock and what you don't for anyone to answer that.

Leedroid is good, i'm using it rght now!
You have some good little tweaks also as the Leedroid Tweaks is included with the ROM.

But I think the OP means by "closer to stock" is that no visual changes like the ARHD ROMs. Well that's my interpretation of "closer to stock".

Once chefs starts changing honescreens and splash screens I consider that as getting further away from being "closer to stock" IMO.

which custom rom has good quick settings like the sgs2 on ics?
i am really missing that feature on the stock rom...

Stock kernel for HTC Desire?

Does anyone have a link for a stock kernel which would be compatible with my set up (in sig)?
I want to try a stock rom to see if I can get sky go to work on my desire as it can't be used on a rooted device, others have had success by changing their kernel.
Thanks in advance.
As far as I know you are stuck with thalamus' kernel if you are running Oxygen rom.

So it is. But imho that's not really a disadvantage: _thalamus' kernel is a good one.

I agree. He does come to me as somewhat arrogant but I got to admit the dude haz teh skillz.
Could I try a stock rom and kernel and then go back to my current set up or would I then be unrooted?
Well you can "try" and flash the kernel I am using I suppose... but as far as I know it will break your camera and probably some other stuff I don't know. Do a nandbackup just in case you want to be adventurous. You only wanna find out if Sky would work if you change kernels first right?

Yes that's right, it has to be a stock kernel as sky do a check on the kernel before the stream loads apparently.
Well if it's stock kernel that it requires, then you have to use the official Sense based rom and kernel. All sense roms here uses a custom kernel so you are out of luck. You can't use Sense kernel on AOSP roms anyway.
OK cheers
I will have to wait for techy people to hack the sky go app then.
Depending on how Sky works, you can try and flash one those sense based roms. Who knows, the custom kernel they have might work. I have the impression that they are all based on the original sense kernel anyway. Or just wait for someone to hack the app.

Simple ROM for Galaxy Y

Hello,
I am looking for a rom similar to the stock rom.
I've looked at all the roms such as Creed etc and they're not really to my taste as I like to be very simple.
If you could point me in the direction of one it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
well...you can modify your own stock rom. what kind of rom do you like?

I tried HyperDrive, MIUI and others! Some are too bugy! I need something close to stock but debloated and optimized
Any idea on JellyBean747 Version 1? Is it no more under dev?

Look around, we don't really want to do your searching for you if you're going to be picky, I used to use HyperDrive when I wanted a stock ROM and it worked fine for me, don't remember any bugs. If the thread hasn't been replied to in a while, chances are it's not being developed anymore.
Just check the android dev and original android dev section I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.

I would definitely recommend S3Rx... If your looking for a very lightweight ROM, then check out Dandroid, it's only like 408 MB, but it is themed to look like cm...

Also, it has to be s-on. :good:

CyanogenMod 12 is the first that comes to my mind, but it's not stable. I don't have any other ideas right now. If you had S-OFF you could convert it to a Google Play Edition device.

S-on has nothing to do with a custom rom....please read and read until you are acquainted with the terms and needs of a custom rom.
and there is no best rom out there. There is a best rom for you but only you can decide which is the best for yourself. We all seek different setups and preferences in a rom.
Happy hunting

If the question is put as 'which is easier to install', then what would the answer? CM?

all of them is easier if you can read the instructions
All roms are pretty much installed the same way.
Make a full wipe (so you don't mingle up 2 different roms)
Install the rom zip
Reboot
ViperOneM8. But I might be biased.
But it does allow for the most customization from any Sense based ROM. Check it out.
Be careful with the volume if you install CM. Don't use it at max, protect your speakers.

Any Deodexed stock tab S t705

hi guys, i tried browsing the dev section but i only saw one for t810
Any deodexed stock rom for t705?
Thanks
Sweetrom, Ironrom, eRobot. Most custom roms are deodexed.
No stock? Thanks for the response though

They're all stock
Okay, im much more confused right now. Lol. Not sure how a 'custom' can be stock but let me look at it. I was thinking of pure, plain stock only deodexed with all the bloatwares lol

Well that's something different, modified or otherwise they are still stock firmwares.
A deodexed rom is not stock either.
perhaps i should rephrase it as "close to stock as possible" thanks though, i'll check on it, the only thing that hinders me for flashing those custom roms before was the minor bugs, hence i was looking for a rom where the only tweak is being deodexed.

In that case sweetrom, it's as close to stock as you can be, apart from just a few reinstallable apps removed.
